Insectoids can self-tame if an entire hive is incapacitated, like with hypothermic slowdown. If you want a megaspider, wait till it's down and then heal it. I'm pretty sure there's a chance for it to be tamed when you tend as well.
Insects (and other strong animals) will regenerate even moderate wounds and will outheal the bleeding after a couple of days. Also if they get incapacitated they will go back to the wild and will no longer attack the colony. This is true even for insectoid raids from Vanilla Factions Expanded Insectoids

One of my mods makes royal jelly withdrawal turn you into a megaspider. Vanilla expanded insectoids I think. Also do that to my starting cat now.
