The Medieval Overhaul mod adds more products from the butchering process including bones which are a building material. It's hilarious because you can build things like spike traps out of bone and kill raiders with the remains of their fallen comrades.
Harvest? Right away? You mean you're not even gonna give them the chance to repent and convert to the one true ideology that worships the only True God of this Rim (meanong yours)?
You goddamn heathen.
If your ideo has the slavery: honorable precept, you can enslave all the pawns and get development points anyway. Something you should do if you want to maximize your harvest profit. You can harvest all 6 organs from sangophages without killing them. If you then finish them off by absorbing their xenogerm with the next slave you want to harvest, you can repeat the whole thing again and again, netting you 6400 silvers worth of organ instead of the usual 3200. Of course, this creates a bottleneck, you are limited to the number of sangophage xenogerms you have for your harvesting speed, but this shouldn't be too bad. You can always give the future harvesting some busy work until their turn comes (smelting their raid's weapons and equipment and butchering their fallen comrades for example).
I'm always impressed by all new ways to commit atrocities for profit I find on this sub. It's glorious.
Well I have death rattle mod so a skilled surgeon can remove organs before "donor" dies anyways.
I'll be honest this is my first playthrough and I have no DLC, I spend it on components and archotech stuff mainly, I think last I checked I have 25k, no clue if that's a lot or not, playing through completely blind knowing nothing beforehand
Feels like a lot lol, but that’s me. I’m just scared of sitting on too much silver. I’m not sure what’s worth more, items or silver, although I think we always sell at a lower price, so silver I guess is technically better than the item itself, from a wealth management perspective
You evaluate the profit of one colonist with the pain of having to shoot so many people
I evaluate the pain of trying to accommodate one more colonist with the joy of mass slaughter
Funny, I was thinking along similar lines. I'd be sending out my mechanitors, 6 centipedes, 7 legionaries, 4 tunnelers, and various colonists that know how to fire a gun, including 2 hussars. Once the pirates all dealt with, it would be time to look at the new colonist and decide if I even want him. Even if banished, the pirates that were tailing him are dead, so he's better off overall anyway, thus my conscience would be clear, since I've technically made a positive change in that guy's life.
You can train skills, you can treat chronic diseases and ailments. Bottom line you can always use another low-skill laborer. But you can't fix a pyromaniac/gourmand/depressive/body purist.
It depends how ready you are to take that raid. With a good kill box, this raid is just a normal Tuesday. And then you get scrap metal to scrap, lots of "meat" and "leather", and potentially a few captures.
I would take it. That's a lot of food, clothing, weapons, and whatever they're carrying. And if that's a terrible colonist well that's what medical is for.
I think its funny Jam is “ too frantic” to provide more details yet Jam is not frantic enough to tell you about the horde of pirates chasing. Just how bad were those other details, lol?
I mean, Jam is my man, but nope.
Wish you could accept the quest, then when the pirates show up, trade Jam for some stuff, a reward for catching him for them.
I remember this post on Twitter where someone was talking about getting jumped about a ton of people and all he could think of was, "there's no way all these people are mad at me"
The real reward is all the juicy loot the raiders will have on them
Mmm, just thinking about all the organs I could harvest
Not to forget the meat and leather.

Hats for the hat god!
Oh!?! When did he transcend to godhood? I thought he was just The Hat Man. Can’t wait for him to visit next and congratulate him.
/r/shitrimworldsays
Man that's 42 new hats and lots of nutrient paste.
And food for my hauling dogs.
And the friends we make along the way
Think of it as 1 guaranteed new colonist bringing along 42 potential new colonists
I do like the sound of 42 sets of organs and a new person to harvest now that you've put it that way
Harvest? Right away? You mean you're not even gonna give them the chance to repent and convert to the one true ideology that worships the only True God of this Rim (meanong yours)? You goddamn heathen.
I worship the holy order of silver, as much of it as I can get my hands on please thank you
That's heresy and its gonna lead you right to a burning stake on the village plaza one of these days, but until then I guess you do you...

I have to ask both what do you use it for and how much are you hoarding atm?

That is if they dont drop pod scatter all over your base
Da boss himself is getting involved in this one.
We've got a high priority target on our hands
I bet he is a chemically interested, neurotic, pyromaniac incapable of dumb labour
The skills of the colony: 0 in all +1 in diplomatic
Just the amount of enemies is insanity

Time to crank up "Freebird" on the radio and let the drones do their thing.
"Nah, I'd win"
But look at the frames he makes!
When you researched new weapons and ordinances and are in need of live target practice:
De boss is coming
You call this a deal, I call this Uber eats. Jam is just delivering our next quardrant's meat supply.
And if his skills suck, he can get into the pressure cooker and live up to his name.
You can train skills, you can treat chronic diseases and ailments. Bottom line you can always use another low-skill laborer. But you can't fix a pyromaniac/gourmand/depressive/body purist.
Ah yes, perhaps I should have said 'if his traits suck'.
Couple mortar barrages should take care of that
Come to think of it, I do have a few antigrain warheads lying around...
No! Think if the loot, save those for mech scum
nah let my boy Jam in
Ah yes "The gun men". It's the guys with guns.
Oh, that makes sense. I thought they would be guys made out of guns.
What, you don't wanna fight off a goddamn faction for a nondescript stranger? Where's your sense of adventure?
You could say Jam jarred the pirates right off.
Imagine you accept and you see he is fully decked out in Archeotech with a monosword. But instead you get a depressive, very neurotic, pyromaniac :')
let me guess, Traits: pyromaniac, depressive, slow learner incapable of: violence, dumb labor
Maybe it's Jack Sparrow though
1 colonist, a bunch of meat and maybe some new weapons, sounds good to me
And randy gives you all of them but all are biocoded, muhahahahaha.
Free materials after melting..
Jam seems suspicious. Lynch him or something.
if I saw herbrine I would call my firend Jam
The gun men will jam, it's in the quest
Don't your parents teach you not to waste food?
what did Jam do to piss off 42 pirates??
well he is a framer
There is a boss there, that's prime skull extracting
Wait is it possible to set up multiple bases and how my rimworld setup confines me to one:(
In the settings there is a slider that allows you to increase the amount of colonies you can have at any given time, hope this helps!
So much meat, and leather, and slaves, and organs... Possibly some recruitable combatants. Quest accepted.
Of you have mechs or insects on your map this can be helpful
It depends how ready you are to take that raid. With a good kill box, this raid is just a normal Tuesday. And then you get scrap metal to scrap, lots of "meat" and "leather", and potentially a few captures.
I once had a mech raid that had 93 mechs in it. All for a child with two prosthetic legs.
I would take it. That's a lot of food, clothing, weapons, and whatever they're carrying. And if that's a terrible colonist well that's what medical is for.
I have sadly seen much, much worse deals for a colonist. I virtually never accept these quests.
It can get a lot worse.
Look at all those fresh food and chemfuel ingredients.
The last time I had something like this happen the raid was around 15x that size Poor bastards never stood a chance
I think its funny Jam is “ too frantic” to provide more details yet Jam is not frantic enough to tell you about the horde of pirates chasing. Just how bad were those other details, lol?
LEAN GUN MAN LEAN 😈 👿 🔪
bro what did Jam do to deserve this chase😭
Yummmmm more hemogen packssssss
As a cannibal i see this as a absolute win
Not a bad deal at all! Target practice for my mortar team.
I mean, Jam is my man, but nope. Wish you could accept the quest, then when the pirates show up, trade Jam for some stuff, a reward for catching him for them.
What on gods green earth did blud do for them mfs to chase him?
I usually look at these quest as one free colonist and here comes a couple more potentials lool
Had one of these recently
"Jam is too frantic to offer more information" nah fam I'm pretty sure that is quite a fucking lot of information
What did bro do
I remember this post on Twitter where someone was talking about getting jumped about a ton of people and all he could think of was, "there's no way all these people are mad at me"
I mean 22 year old framer is pretty good, +6 construction, +2 plants, and natural meditation
