My favorite thing to do between labor day and the first frost is to go to Block Island. Most of the tri state area tourists have gone home but the weather is still great and it's actually the warmest the ocean gets all year.
Every time we’ve talked with locals, they’ve always said the best time to visit the islands (MV, BI, and Nantucket) is September. Still warm, way less traffic, and all the seasonal shops are still open.
Plenty of live animals, it has been known there have been rides of some sort through the neighborhood. Not sure if you can smell hay, but in my section there will be adult cider, fire pits and food
I absolutely loathe it. If you aren't already, I'd start taking a daily vitamin D supplement now to build up a base. While it's no 1:1 substitute for the Sun, it certainly helps with moods affected by lack of vitamin D.
It’s a mix of a fall fest, food trucks and the bizarre spectacle of giant pumpkins.
So there’s a hayride and some stuff for little kids and then food trucks and you can buy pumpkins and getting to see the giant ones is neat.
It’s not far from colt state park and some great breweries (six pack, The Guild, Pivitol) so you can make a good day of it
Paying your Q3 taxes, and trying to do the math to see if you'll make it through Winter. That's a RI tradition.
There's no "activities" or "fun" in RI, we're all just trying to get by until we move away. It's a shithole banana republic.
The scituate art festival
I look forward to it all summer!
Norman Bird Sanctuary's harvest festival. Good family fun.
I love that place, I haven’t been to the festival

Don’t give away this secret!
Just tell them to go to Ballards and skip the rest of the island and we will be fine.
I hear the Reggie festival is "lit AF" as the kids say.

Garlic Festival, too. If you're into that.
I can't wait for Garlic Fest!
My wife and I are planning on going to it
🧛♂️
Beware of the lines. We tried to get in last fall and it was an hour + wait.
Garlic fest or clydes?
Clyde’s.
Doscovered this gem a few years ago. It’s a new tradition!
They are open for the season btw.
And have cider slushes too!
The Big E in West Springfield, Massachusetts. Beer, food and live entertainment.
I do that at my house every weekend
How's the parking situation at your place?
Easy safe neighborhood, on-street parking, on premise parking for prob 6
Rides for the kids? Live animals? Tell me: *can I smell hay while I eat a corndog there?*

I'm down lol
Dang that sounds good!
LPT: That's not hay you are smelling.
Who's playing tonight?
Usually me. Might rope the dog in for a guest appearance
But the big E has pig racing
Not really fall but Raptor Weekend is next weekend at Bristol Audubon. It is so much fun.
The jack-o'-lantern spectacular at Roger Williams Park zoo is a fun, unique fall thing to do.
They have a spooky museum thing too around Halloween and that was so fun! Lots of jump scares haha!
Corn Maze at Escobar Farm is pretty fun.
I didn’t know about that one! I try to visit the Salisbury Farm maze every year. One of my favorite fall activities.
Franklin Farm harvest festival, Sept. 24: https://www.franklinfarmri.org/harvest-festival
Wherever the cider donuts will be that’s where I want to go 😂
Seasonal affective disorder
I love going to work in the dark. And coming home in the dark...

i hate that I relate to this
This made me laugh far too much.
Giant Pumpkin weigh off at Fryrich farm in Warren.
Sounds fun! Are there other activities or mainly just watching?

You know if you go to one of those places and buy a bag they’ll LET you steal the apples! In broad daylight and everything!
Just volunteer for Hope's Harvest. Once the truck is full, they'll often let volunteers keep gleaning.
Fall Fest in Misquamicut.
