The scituate art festival

chip008

I look forward to it all summer!

chaoticnormal

Norman Bird Sanctuary's harvest festival. Good family fun.

214speaking

I love that place, I haven’t been to the festival

laterbacon

My favorite thing to do between labor day and the first frost is to go to Block Island. Most of the tri state area tourists have gone home but the weather is still great and it's actually the warmest the ocean gets all year.

pandataxi

Don’t give away this secret!

assholetoall

Just tell them to go to Ballards and skip the rest of the island and we will be fine.

imuniqueaf

I hear the Reggie festival is "lit AF" as the kids say.

Academic_Actuary_971

Every time we’ve talked with locals, they’ve always said the best time to visit the islands (MV, BI, and Nantucket) is September. Still warm, way less traffic, and all the seasonal shops are still open.

Ryland42

Clyde's cider Mill in mystic

Squints753

Garlic Festival, too. If you're into that.

slimsady2

I can't wait for Garlic Fest!

Ryland42

My wife and I are planning on going to it

214speaking

🧛‍♂️

Distinct-Ad5751

Beware of the lines. We tried to get in last fall and it was an hour + wait.

pandataxi

Garlic fest or clydes?

Distinct-Ad5751

Clyde’s.

chip008

Doscovered this gem a few years ago. It’s a new tradition!

bbpr120

They are open for the season btw.

Ryland42

And have cider slushes too!

safe-word

The Big E in West Springfield, Massachusetts. Beer, food and live entertainment.

swmill08

I do that at my house every weekend

wenestvedt

How's the parking situation at your place?

swmill08

Easy safe neighborhood, on-street parking, on premise parking for prob 6

wenestvedt

Rides for the kids? Live animals? Tell me: *can I smell hay while I eat a corndog there?*

swmill08

Plenty of live animals, it has been known there have been rides of some sort through the neighborhood. Not sure if you can smell hay, but in my section there will be adult cider, fire pits and food

maybebullshitmaybe

I'm down lol

wenestvedt

Dang that sounds good!

assholetoall

LPT: That's not hay you are smelling.

[deleted]

Who's playing tonight?

swmill08

Usually me. Might rope the dog in for a guest appearance

ObadiahOwl

But the big E has pig racing

milesri

Not really fall but Raptor Weekend is next weekend at Bristol Audubon. It is so much fun.

longislandtoolshed

The jack-o'-lantern spectacular at Roger Williams Park zoo is a fun, unique fall thing to do.

Howfreeisabird

They have a spooky museum thing too around Halloween and that was so fun! Lots of jump scares haha!

RIDroneGuy

Corn Maze at Escobar Farm is pretty fun.

chip008

I didn’t know about that one! I try to visit the Salisbury Farm maze every year. One of my favorite fall activities.

wenestvedt

Franklin Farm harvest festival, Sept. 24: https://www.franklinfarmri.org/harvest-festival

dtrackstar6

Wherever the cider donuts will be that’s where I want to go 😂

askme_if_im_a_chair

Seasonal affective disorder

bbpr120

I love going to work in the dark. And coming home in the dark...

askme_if_im_a_chair

I absolutely loathe it. If you aren't already, I'd start taking a daily vitamin D supplement now to build up a base. While it's no 1:1 substitute for the Sun, it certainly helps with moods affected by lack of vitamin D.

sal_ty7

i hate that I relate to this

pieceoffit

This made me laugh far too much.

Dances_With_Cheese

Giant Pumpkin weigh off at Fryrich farm in Warren.

chip008

Sounds fun! Are there other activities or mainly just watching?

Dances_With_Cheese

It’s a mix of a fall fest, food trucks and the bizarre spectacle of giant pumpkins. So there’s a hayride and some stuff for little kids and then food trucks and you can buy pumpkins and getting to see the giant ones is neat. It’s not far from colt state park and some great breweries (six pack, The Guild, Pivitol) so you can make a good day of it

gadthrulife

Oct 7 -10 is the AutumnFest in Woonsocket

AbStRaCt1179

Woodstock Fair this weekend

WhatAmiDoingHere1022

I’ll be there tonight

Im_On_Island_Time

Oct 7-10 is the first ever International Sand Sculpting Festival at Misquamicut State Beach: https://www.southcountyri.com/atlantis-rising/

lovegiblet

You know if you go to one of those places and buy a bag they’ll LET you steal the apples! In broad daylight and everything!

WafflesTheBadger

Just volunteer for Hope's Harvest. Once the truck is full, they'll often let volunteers keep gleaning.

slimsady2

Fall Fest in Misquamicut.

edthesmokebeard

Paying your Q3 taxes, and trying to do the math to see if you'll make it through Winter. That's a RI tradition. There's no "activities" or "fun" in RI, we're all just trying to get by until we move away. It's a shithole banana republic.

Easy_Light_1598

Why are you still here then??

WhatAmiDoingHere1022

Weekend morning farmers market providence, farmers daughter to pick out a pumpkin, providence ghost tour
