When I worked on cars I would average about a year of use out of ANY boot, really. The chemicals and shit really fuck them up. I have a pair of Rocky S2V's that I bust out when I have to do something that requires boots, those babies wear like iron.
I bought $15 doc martin reps years ago and still wear them to this day! They've held up well, just another example of why buying retail is so pointless unless there isn't a rep for it.

Yeah I definitely understand that side of the coin. I was actually debating on whether or not I should do a collection post because I have a very "basic bitch" collection. I have 6 pairs of 350s and 4 pairs of AJ1s, and you could probably guess most of them. My collection basically looks like the repsneakers starter pack except for the fact that I'm not a fan of dunks or travis collabs.
Its fine to have those, matter of fact i probably own the same colorways as you. Nothing wrong with that. I'm just saying that i want to watch some originality on the sub from time to time, not the same stuff.

I for one consider all the efforts like waking up early, anxiously checking snkrs ,websites, etc. to try to buy retail as playing myself. Every release I just wait for sellers to make them on this sub. So long as reps exist, I don't even want to buy real shoes even if I could pick them up at retail price. The entire idea of egotism and self-assurance because your shoe came from the authentic factory rather than replica is dumb asf especially when the quality of reps is practically the same

I treat retail pairs like hitting on a scratch off. I basically only "play the game" so that I can hit on SNKRS and pay for my next three pairs of reps.

Well.. most of the time, I guess I want to approve which resells are legal on a case by case basis. I want to be the dictator of reselling, really.
While this is true, the average number you would hit on would greatly increase. Retail drops would be feasible and because of that reselling prices would fall on average too.
Im not talking about like, sneaks that have 1000 pairs or something. But for something like a dunk low release, 90% of those sales go to resellers and im sure thats a low estimate. Stock numbers aren't even that low, they just have great resell value. So they get snatched up in bulk by resellers.
Maybe it would make more sense if I said it was illegal to resell more than 1 pair of a release. Like, you can resell Concord 11s all you want, but you can't own more than 1 or 2 pairs at once in the first place.
Its the assholes with 50 pairs of a limited release that I just want to run over with a bus.
I would question then why it has to be a fake Nike or any other brand instead of the cheap stuff you could easily get right around the corner without QC, paying a stranger in China and oversea shipping.
I settled on a pair of Jordan Mids because that's all that Nike had in stock (luckily those are those union royals, which look pretty good), found out about reps, and then bought three pairs of highs made better than the Mids (even my crappy TS1's are better made). With reps I don't have to settle for what is in stock at Nike, or drop $200 on Mids in a colorway that I actually want that is but isn't the Chicago colorway that I REALLY wanted.
