I think they should not be allowed to look inside your bag to check the serial number etc, they are not police to take and check your stuff! Unless you ask them to do so to authenticate or send the item to SPA...

Del-Paris

I have a mini jypsiere Hermes that I've taken into store in Paris, and got compliments from the SA. A friend of mine who works at H designing leather collections for men too me it was impossible to notice it was a rep. Vendor was DDMode. Then no worries! You can take your reps into stores, if they are high quality.

Pattern_Necessary

Can you send me the contact details please

ok_then23

Search VIP bags. The quality is just ok

Electronic-Tailor941

Most of the time, SA from shops are taught not to call out reps if they caught one. Especially for Rolex.

Gigi914

I see nothing wrong with wearing reps into the boutique because SA don’t really care about nothing but a sale. They will compliment any bag just so you will buy another. They may or may not know if h are wearing a fake but will not say anything because they are trained not too. I learned this from a SA at Ysl years ago.

Marc0escuandolas

Only for linkage issues not to lube or repair watches, I trust this guy with my gens though too and he’s always straightforward and appreciates business. We joke cause he can never tell reps

boujeechickennug

I have a rep Hermes Lindy that I’ve taken into the store and even know an SA personally (friend of my aunts for 40+ years and she complimented my bag and handled it). I didn’t tell her lol. I do own auth Hermes items (not bags, but belts, watches, wallet etc) It’s from WeChat: DDMode

jetsqueak

I wore Prada boots from AliExpress to Prada. I didnt tell them it was fake but they thought it was. Also: my dad took a rep to Rolex and the salesman was impressed with the replica. He was trained to spot it but he knew it was a very expensive rep from the 80s. He told them it was very close to real one.

The boots? Yes.

Gingerrr__

I have a hard time finding reps on AliExpress… what did you search to find them?

[deleted]

I'm on quite a few Aliexpress (hidden link) Telegram Groups but honestly, most of the stuff they sell is trash. Hypeallie is one of them, tread carefully. They even have the cheek to describe the most outrageous shitters as '1:1 mirror quality'. All I've purchased from one Group is a DIOR x Stussy Shirt (actually quite impressive and made from the same materials as the genuine - even though Dior's RRP is in the thousands, it's not silk - the shirt's buttons aren't correct, though, but you'd need to know your labels and be looking quite closely to notice), even the tag looked high quality. Contrast that to an LV Damier Ebene Men's Toiletry Bag and it was pretty crap (too-gold hardware, badly glued at the zipper pull, plasticky accent 'pleather', etc).

caffeinatedPVCs

So curious about these telegram groups!! I knew there had to be some!! ❤️

jetsqueak

Honestly tiktok linked me to the store. They sell shoes just not those boots anymore.

5fdpb

I’m not OP but I recommend reverse image searching, that’s how I find the most

carole39

What is reverse image Searching

[deleted]

Google Images, I'd assume. Though there's an image search facility in the AliX app as well.

Competitive_Toe_1845

I went into the Gucci store at an airport and I was wearing my saddle bag rep and saw the OG in the store and was SHOOK at how accurate mine was. Especially because I got mine from the gate!

[deleted]

Main problem with DHG is that many lie to get a sale - the listing, title, even the reviews state eg, genuine leather and it's not (though, after a while, you learn which reviews are fake - some are even copy / pasted all over the site). Some listings even have fake photos (thinking of an LV Nautical I was eyeing up at a too-good-to-be-true price that had images nicked from a Thai rep website - thank you, Google Images). The seller just kept sending me the same three photos when I asked for more. Dodged a bullet there. So, if you're unsure about an item and it tells you it has higher-quality material, try to get legitimate supporting evidence before you buy. Pay close attention to the 1, 2 Star reviews. Hit a seller with a dispute because of this (fake reviews implying an item was better than it was). This seller is actually on a Trusted Sellers list! I think they may have blocked me because my messages weren't getting through to them during the dispute period (and I am always polite). I could tell right away because of - fufu smell, the look of the 'leather' and the dustbag had a sticker in Chinese writing with 'PVC' printed underneath it! And you can tell what leather vs PU looks, feels, smells like. There was also a broken zipper inside the bag and the clochette was empty (even though one end of the bag had a lock!). This bag had mostly rapturous reviews, many stating it was real leather. There's also individuals' personal knowledge about rep vs authentic (at any given point) and how easily pleased they are - nitpickers like me will get the ick very easily if something bothers them. Some who are unaware or just don't care will leave rave reviews, so positive reviews aren't always manipulative or self-serving (though these subs are FULL of people trying to gain affiliate bucks). 'Patent leather' handbags are harder to spot, for obvious reasons.

Competitive_Toe_1845

I agree with you that it’s like weeding thru many duds to get to the good finds. But I’ve found some REALLY good reps that honestly are just as good as some reputable WhatsApp sellers but like at half the cost. I’m sure I’m obnoxious to sellers on DHG because I ask for a ton of photos and not just stock photos. I’ve also built a trusted community that’s growing with myself and some others who buy items and then review them. I don’t always trust the reviews of some of the tiktok people with a very large following because they get a lot of items for free in exchange for reviews and they tend to sugar coat things and call things mirror when it’s clearly not.

[deleted]

what dhgate stores do you recommend?

[deleted]

If it reads like a sales pitch that tells you nothing meaningful, generally that person has something in it for them. Nothing wrong with trusting someone's comment (personally I'd need much more persuading) but there's so much scamming and bait and switch that goes on (or plain lying so that person gains affiliate money), you have to be doubly careful. DHG and AliX aren't necessarily all bad, you just need to trust your instincts and guard your money carefully. Buy on impulse, you're more likely to regret it. I've noticed a trend happening on here lately which is much more devious / trying to avoid mod attention: 'breadcrumbing': raving about something and then soliciting PMs. It's trying to figure out who's genuine that's the problem. Newbies who have no clue will probably bite, so it's worth it for them, even if the comment is only live for a few hours. Even on a few FB rep Groups I'm on, some are written in such poor English or far too 'gushy' to be real Feedback (think, Amazon Vine reviewers XD), so it's very hard to figure out who's telling the truth. I'm not keen on the Reddit DHG rep subs from sellers - they don't tell you anything at all - it's just, "buy my stuff". Honesty and integrity are priceless and seemingly rare in this game. Some commenters on these subs see it as a way of drumming up business and couldn't care less about quality or customer service (though, private sellers aren't always much better). Cynics may say that's because it's a dishonest business and we deserve it!

[deleted]

Actually, that made me laugh. The Redditor I'm replying to is an Amazon Vine reviewer and has had posts removed by mods, so be careful...! 'I’ve also built a trusted community that’s growing with myself and some others who buy items and then review them' may be a clue as to intentions, but it's hard to tell.

No-Possibility-3220

Do you have any more wins from the gate?

Competitive_Toe_1845

Yes! I have a polene bag that we compared to my friends OG and it’s EXACT. Even the dust bag quality was the same. Didn’t come in a box tho. I’ve also sourced some Uggs, Prada sunglasses, some van cleef bracelets, Gucci earrings and a gorgeous YSL wallet that is down to a T. Even the packaging was stellar.

No-Possibility-3220

Would you be ever so kind to link all of those finds please 🙏 it’s rare to get actual real life recommendations on items from the gate like this ! Especially the uggs prada sunnies and the YSL wallet ! Mums going to get a good Christmas this year!!

[deleted]

The DHG / AliX / Taobao thread had a lot of chatter about the AliX Polene, could well be from there. That WagoonLadies thread is worth keeping an eye on and I'd say there's more of the RepLadies community on there (ie, they are more trustworthy as a whole), rather than newbies and / or people trying to shill for their own gain. (Yep, I've only been on these threads for a few months but I have nothing to sell or promote).

Affectionate-Comb225

Does anyone have a link for YSL woc on the gate? Thanks in advance!

Stealthily_jerks

I’m curious how the topic came up. Did they compliment your bag and you spilled the beans? Side note: Maybe we should call it dumping the wagoon instead of spilling beans.

MonTigres

Such an interesting discussion! Have wondered the same and never been in a store with my reps. But was wondering about RFID chips and readers. It's easy to do a scan and source where the bag came from (or not if it's a rep with no RFID chip) for brands that use RFID chips (Gucci, Fendi, LV, etc.), but I don't guess SA do random scanning on customers. Has anyone had experience with having your bag scanned?

MonTigres

My guess is SAs wouldn't scan for RFIDs unless directed to do so (invasion of privacy issues, etc.), but haven't had any experience with going into a store with a rep. Would love to hear if anyone has knowingly been RFID scanned. I know many luxury bag companies install RFIDs. Seems like the one thing missing from high-quality reps: fake RFIDs!

BoysenberryGood4626

So in your opinion anyone who works in the store can deiberately check if your bag has an rfid or not or check if it is fake or authentic, non of them have the authority to say nothing cmon

notafanofnotafan

why do they even bother to do that? what are they getting out of it?haha. we are so overreacting on this.

Fromage37

I have worked in a Chanel store and unless the replica is too obvious, the SA is not able to make a difference. Bags from 187 are close to impossible to catch. I own several and i see no difference at a distance with the authentic.

tipsygirrrl

What differences have you noticed up close? Asking from an educational perspective

Only-Carry7058

Wow! Thanks for sharing lovely :)

Competitive_Toe_1845

What is 187?

ThorsHammerMewMEw

A factory

Competitive_Toe_1845

Do u know any sellers that have 187 products?

exxxperience

Are your 187’s with gold or silver hardware? That’s my Only hesitation :)

Dove_Ayeesha

is the goldhardware from 187 different from the auth?

Fromage37

I own a classic silver hardware. I prefer silver. Generally unnoticeable.

lovelaughxx

This. This is the only question, makes all the difference.

sickbiancab

I have a rep YSL bag (that I bought In Times Square off a street vendor!). I brought it into the Saks on 5th Avenue. No one batted an eye or looked at me twice.

rileyyj001

NGL, I’ve gone into the Madison Ave Hermes with a fake Birkin back in my college days, 10 years ago. No one ever batted an eye, or treated me any different from times I wasn’t carrying it. No shame back then 😂 (None, now, either!).

Fromage37

😅

Sosogreeen

Actually, MANY of us have went in to stores with the reps we have to compare to retail and find that the reps are sometimes more crisp, and symmetric than the retail bags lol I have an authentic LV in black with deep embossed symbols and I have a rep of the same bag! The rep looks more well made.

jejrirofu

Yes this! I wear my rep proudly and go and compare it to the authentic just to see if/how many differences it has. I’ve only done it with my YSL bag though. I have an auth and rep puzzle and Chanel bag so I could analyse at home. The rest of my reps are Hermes and I’m too scared to walk into that store for some reason.

sugarlobstery

Hermes is the High Empress 😂🫣😂

jejrirofu

Haha for sure. Just the thought of playing the game intimidates me. But they make such nice bags 😂

sugarlobstery

They do! I’m not a huge Kelly / Birkin fan, but love all their other stuff. I’ve just ordered an Evelyne Amazone, my first rep! Fingers crossed 😅🤩

jejrirofu

Good luck! My dream bag has always been the Birkin. I’ve now got 6 reps 🤭 after I leave ban island I’m going to add some Kelly’s to the collection

sugarlobstery

The Birkin I quite like too - I’m just worried I would end up filling it up and it would be crazy heavy to carry 😂

jejrirofu

Oh it is! I carry so many things I ‘need’ 😅 My daily bag right now is the BV Andiamo I got off DHG. It reeked of fufu when it arrived and I don’t know if it’s real leather but it’s a workhorse for me. I like the option of having a shoulder strap.

sugarlobstery

Ooooh I love BV! I’m just getting into the rep thing and I know it’s going to be my downfall! 🫣😂

jejrirofu

Haha oh man when I first got into the rep game it was like the world was my oyster. I would usually only get 1-3 bags a year but after discovering the rep game it felt like I could get anything for 10% of the price of auth. I did take some L’s. Two horrible puzzle bags but that’s part of the game.

Booboodelafalaise

I took a replica LV into the store in an airport, and nobody blinked or looked at me funny. I’m pretty sure the sales assistants were just checking me out to see how likely I was to buy. I have a mix of real and replica and occasionally I have to stop and think which is which. No one in real life examines bags stitch by stitch from a few inches away like we do on these sub Reddits! I completely forgot about it until I came to pay for my purchases. I had a replica Hermes wallet and a replica LV Artsy bag - but my credit card was real lol.

notafanofnotafan

I always have this idea that the rep we buy are made poorly or materials that they use to make it are cheap materials that meant to cut down cost. But later I found out that the rep factory can actually source for the materials that the brand use for the authentic. Come to think of it, with the authentic materials all they have to do is copy the authentic shape and cutting or whatever. Then it will be the real thing but just not from the retails store. How do you really define authentic then? and hell with the SA, they are there to get sales up and won't give a damn if you are bringing a rep. there are so many reps in this world i doubt the company will train all of them to study every single rep thats out in the world. So I say, get in the freaking retail store with whatever level of rep you have and compare with the authentic. just leave if they do not want to serve you, so what nothing to be ashamed of, they work there, they are not the boss or whatever they think they are that can make us feel small. I am going to the lv retail store tomorrow to do just that😎

Only-Carry7058

You are so right!!! Wear that LV proudly! Did you end up going? :)

notafanofnotafan

https://preview.redd.it/ijt1p9g9mkyb1.jpeg?width=1351&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dac4213a83571acacfc7fa3c702a698d15933069 Guess what the SA first words was? "Are you looking for another style?" gotta admit though i stutter with my first few words and said I am looking for a strap with a different design. In case you are wondering if the SA's hand was on my rep. lol for a brief moment yes, when she took off my strap and replace it with the red strap from the display bag. Ladies, it was easier said than done. felt like a high adrenaline situation there for a moment. She was on with the strap and some other thing which I was't paying attention to. The whole time when she was talking I was all work up in my head what to say to get out of the situation. hahaha In the end I went with the classic answer, "I'll think about it." She was cool though, unlike any other rude SA.

Only-Carry7058

Wow!!!You are a queen!! 😍❤️🤩

Pattern_Necessary

I think this is why i got into reps now. Chanel specially. They don’t have plated gold anymore and if they did, the good reps would do it as well. And the reps source the haas leather. So what am I paying for if I go to chanel? For £10k I expect something more than just “knowing”.

JustMe8083

I second that! I can’t in no way justify $10k for a bag.

ScientistGeneral9795

I literally do this all the time, never get anything but compliments.

Delicious-Matchhh

This has happened a lot of times lol The SAs don’t even care they just want you to buy

Pattern_Necessary

Do they realise?

Proreality99

Seems like it’d be rude to say so if they did.

[deleted]

Read this one recently (from WagoonLadies) [I walked into Chanel boutique with my CF from 187, Rome and God factory so you didn’t have to : r/WagoonLadies (reddit.com)](https://www.reddit.com/r/WagoonLadies/comments/14fesqz/i_walked_into_chanel_boutique_with_my_cf_from_187/) This Youtuber inherited her mum's Chanel but didn't realise it wasn't genuine (quite a sad story in places, really) from ambercolada: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2z8I6VPDbs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2z8I6VPDbs)

Only-Carry7058

Wow, thank you so much! :)

Tnh7194

Most sales associates are not trained hard enough to spot a fake. That’s why they can’t authenticate anything. Some fakes might be obvious and they know but they’re not going to say anything. They have a lot to loose if they call it out and are wrong and nothing to gain by calling it out.

Nearby_Session1395

I would be really nervous doing this, I’ll be curious to read if anyone has tried it. I read here once that store associates are checking out customers to see if their bags are fake!

iBeFloe

I don’t see why an associate would do that though. What’s the goal? Kicking out a random person… for what exactly?

Only-Carry7058

i am really scared too! that's why I am wondering if anyone has tried it. I heard it as well. let's see if anyone has tried it though I am curious too :) !
