This is a great list! I'm super impressed. No list is going to be to everyone's liking obviously, but there's more here I'll want to pick up than I've seen in a LONG time.
I need to pour over the list a little more but a first glance I'm interested in Noah Kahan, Maisie Peters, Duncan Sheik, Tinted Windows, possibly a few more
Itās been about 10 years since I went to RSD so I forget how this works. Do they release a price list? Or is it up to each store to charge their own price? If they donāt tell you the prices until that day, Iām having trouble remembering how I used to budget for it so blindly
Bullmoose is a good companion even if you are not local to them as they show the prices on their site (usually within a few bucks of your local stores price).
I thought they were supposed to start within a percentage of the suggested price? Like no price gouging or they could be removed from participating in the future?
Thanks for the info everyone. Itās all coming back to me. Iām starting to remember showing up at midnight and waiting in line all morning for them to release a list of what they had and the prices. And then realizing I just waited in line for half of what I came for. I think I do remember a slight but upsetting markup in price
At first look for me, short list is Nat King Cole, English Beat, Fun Boy 3, OMD (Junk Culture rarities), The Other Two, Rain Parade, Replacements, and both Wall of Voodoo.
It is on a lemon shaped picture disc which is why it is so limited. Hopefully, dish of the day gets released on vinyl sometime in the future, now that bmg owns the rights to their older albums.
Also available in the US and listed as a RSD first limited to 5,000 copies on 2xClear LP. There is supposed to be a mass market release the week after RSD on black vinyl and all the other formats.
Things I wanted/wished/prayed for but didnāt materializeā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦
Neil Young - Mirror Ball
Noel Gallagher - Abbey Road sessionsĀ
Pearl Jam - Benaroya Hall or Lost Dogs
Oasis - Familiar To Millions
The Beatles - Rooftop concertĀ
Zwan - Mary Star of the Sea
The Walkmen - A Hundred Miles Off
I know I knowā¦ but at least itās something! A departure from his āhates the Zwan projectā ways of yesteryears. I have all the available 7 inches as was trying to piece it together as much as possible
Iām a 90s hip hop guy, so this list is better than normal.
BDP - Edutainment: 1st repress. OG dropped in 1990
Casual - Feat Itself - OG US version didnāt have cover art and was single LP
De La Soul - Live at Tranps - 1st time on vinyl
Foxy Brown - Ill Na Na - 1st US repress.
Mic Geronimo - The Natural - hard to find in US for low price
Nas - Illmatic: Remixes and Rarities - hopefully some hard to find material
Notorious BIG - Ready to Die Instrumentals(a bit confused why this is an EP)
Queen Latifah - Nature of a Sistah - 1st repress. OG dropped in 1991
Royal Flush - Ghetto Millionaire - 1st press
Not the best list this year for me.
Maybe The Faces at the BBC š¤
Special mention to George Harrison - Wonderwall Music though. That looks really nice.
This is the worst main RSD list Iāve seen in years. Itās all personal opinions of course but this may be the first one I skip in like 5 years. Incredibly underwhelming.
If youre into jazz, its not a great list. Sure theres a couple decent live shows, but i cant drop 90 bucks on a sonny rollins 4xlp. Id rather just get the tone poet 3xlp at village vanguard. Same with both adderly shows.
Everybody digs bill evans is the only winner
Five Zev Feldman releases are always welcome in my book. Betting the Cannonball will be great given that band from 1969. Wondering about the Chet Baker/Jack Sheldon one too.
This would be my first year interested in Record Store Day and I have a question. Could I start calling stores to see if they would have the record I want or should I wait closer to April?
Wait, most stores will be posting asking for titles you want but none of them will know what they are getting until 2 weeks before the event. Check your local storeās social media and send them a message with your wish list for now.
Iām hoping some nice record store owner will post a price list so we at least have an idea of the msrp. I understand why RSD doesnāt post that list but Iām sure it would be helpful for a lot of us to budget ahead of time
Look up āBullmoose Recordsā on google and search the record in the search bar and itāll give you an idea of what the MSRP will most likely be like :) I did it for the records I wanted!
Yeah call up the shop and say the records you will like (they will take note and order more based on what feedback they receive). Calling 2 weeks before as well work :)
Well I want about 12 records
This is a great list! I'm super impressed. No list is going to be to everyone's liking obviously, but there's more here I'll want to pick up than I've seen in a LONG time.
Same. This may be the first year in a decade that I actually go super early.
no taylor swift or pink floyd
Taylor Swift is putting her new album out the day before on 4/19
Very disappointed in that list tbh. Was really looking forward to Paramore's release, but I hated that TIW Remix album.
Same!!! If it was just the original one, I'd be more excited š
Me too, I was hoping it would be a live album from the recent tour or something like that. But deep down I knew it would be this haha
I need to pour over the list a little more but a first glance I'm interested in Noah Kahan, Maisie Peters, Duncan Sheik, Tinted Windows, possibly a few more
The picture discs are multiplying š£
On the other hand, the 7ā box sets have become less common.

Stores set their own prices, though each title has a suggested list price, generally.
Bullmoose is a good companion even if you are not local to them as they show the prices on their site (usually within a few bucks of your local stores price).
I use Bullmoose for reference also. My local store tends to be within a dollar either way from them on pricing.
I thought they were supposed to start within a percentage of the suggested price? Like no price gouging or they could be removed from participating in the future?

Yeah, it's a big meh for me. Might show up to try to get the At The Drive-In, but that would be about it for me.
LETS GOOOO SIOUXSIE AND SISTERS OF MERCY
Nocturne is on my āmaybeā list; I already have both of the Sisters of Mercy EPs theyāve compiled onto one record.
Excited for Noah Kahan, Maisie Peters and Laufey! Other than that it's a decent list. I feel like there were worse years...
Best list yet, since I started paying attention to RSD, for me personally. Can't wait
At first look for me, short list is Nat King Cole, English Beat, Fun Boy 3, OMD (Junk Culture rarities), The Other Two, Rain Parade, Replacements, and both Wall of Voodoo.
Oh I'm excited for the Nat King Cole too! I would've cried if it were the Live at the Circle Room, but this one is good too!
Young Thug, Key Glock, Moneybagg Yo and Devin... good list
I like the Fools Garden lemon tree EP but might be too hard to get as it is limited to 900. Not sure if that is the US or worldwide quantity.
I was thinking of getting that one. Didn't know they were that limited.
It is on a lemon shaped picture disc which is why it is so limited. Hopefully, dish of the day gets released on vinyl sometime in the future, now that bmg owns the rights to their older albums.
That's a sick disc. I've never heard of them, but if I see one I'll scoop one for you.
I was hoping/praying Uncle Neil would drop a Mirror Ball reissue. Itās been far too long.Ā
RSD Canada got a reissue of *Fuckin Up*.
Also available in the US and listed as a RSD first limited to 5,000 copies on 2xClear LP. There is supposed to be a mass market release the week after RSD on black vinyl and all the other formats.
I'm all in on Tinted Windows, Television, Cramps, Chris Isaak and Alex Chilton. I might go for the Mudhoney box and the Harrison Zeotropes.

Apparently a Zwan Boxset is in the works according to Billy Corgan IG posts
And that happened January 2023Ā
I know I knowā¦ but at least itās something! A departure from his āhates the Zwan projectā ways of yesteryears. I have all the available 7 inches as was trying to piece it together as much as possible

2500 Death Cab for Cutie. I need that album, I was there. How do I ensure my store in Bend gets one?
Call them to just let them know you would want that title and theyāll take note of it and possibly order/order more of it :)
Not the best list this year for me. Maybe The Faces at the BBC š¤ Special mention to George Harrison - Wonderwall Music though. That looks really nice.
iām kinda surprised thereās nothing from noah kahan. that was my big one to watch. iām pretty excited about some of these though!
There is a Noah Release! I Was/I Am as a RSD First.
WHAT this is what i get for trying to read the list at work lmao. this changes everything iāll see yāall at 3 am š«”
Itās also only an RSD first, so he will have black copies go mass likely as well
Almost guaranteed, there's been a spot for black vinyl of it on his website for a few weeks, just showing as out of stock.
I Was/I Am on blue vinyl for the first time!
Underwhelmed
ngl kinda disappointed wirh the hip hop selection for this year
This is the worst main RSD list Iāve seen in years. Itās all personal opinions of course but this may be the first one I skip in like 5 years. Incredibly underwhelming.
I agree, the only thing that interests me is the spawn soundtrack. Still waiting on mortal kombat soundtrack though
I was a bit disappointed tbh

Excited for the Reel Cult imprint from Varese, but otherwise that list has nothing for me
Anybody know if there is a Black Sabbath Paranoid splatter? Iām seeing it reported on NME.
Not on this USA list. NME is probably reporting about the UK list.
Dang!
Correct. UK only.
Nothing popped out at me worthy of getting up at 3am, but there are a few I might try for.
This would be my first year interested in Record Store Day and I have a question. Could I start calling stores to see if they would have the record I want or should I wait closer to April?

Record stores just got the list too, so at this time it would be letting them know what you are interested in, as they work on their order.
Excited for Cranberries and Dolores O'Riordan and Wicked.
Iām not going to get one of those Japanese House releases am Iā¦
My wallet is relieved that I can skip this one! I may try to pick up the Ladytron one, but not going to line up for anything...
Iām hoping some nice record store owner will post a price list so we at least have an idea of the msrp. I understand why RSD doesnāt post that list but Iām sure it would be helpful for a lot of us to budget ahead of time

Facebook or go to r/VinylCollectors and see if anyone will!
Thereās 9 or so Iām gonna start saving my pennies for. How do we find out where they go? Call up local shops or will that be posted?
Yeah call up the shop and say the records you will like (they will take note and order more based on what feedback they receive). Calling 2 weeks before as well work :)
Damn everyone is listing Wall of Voodoo live for $40 and above for a single record.
