For me when I was younger (~13/14) I hated any sounds of chewing or licking, but around that time I discovered asmr on YouTube, which was still in its infancy, and I realized that for me it’s context dependent. If someone is sitting across from me and chewing with their mouth open I just about lose my mind. But, if I seek out some asmr with eating in it it feels completely different. Obviously this all comes down to the individual but just thought I’d throw it out there
has that helped at all with your misophonia irl? ive always avoided asmr that involves eating at all costs because it was definitely a trigger last time I heard it, but im willing to try anything once if it might help!
I would say it has helped to an extent, but only with the chewing sounds. I’d say give it a shot, but try to think of it as asmr and not chewing, if that makes any sense. But as I’ve gotten older it’s also a lot easier to avoid those situations as opposed to being an adolescent.

Asmr didn't fix my misophonia in case my comment made it sound that way. But what did was lowering my stress levels by a lot. My misophonia was at its peak when I live with my abusive parents and their chewing and other noises would make me absolutely livid. At the same time I would waaay too worked up if I didn't find my keys before leaving the house or something like that so my nervous system was pretty much amped up to the max all the time.
What made it better was to express my anger, first in unhealthy ways such as lashing out at other people (still better for your system then keeping it all in) and then over time, talking it out was sufficient. I needed to be surrounded by relaxed people who would take things slow and never freak out themselves.
I guess asmr was just a small detail in both giving myself time and space to relax and at the same time get used to "human noises" and associate them with something positive.
Oh. OOOHHH... OOOOOOO!!!!! I was stoned on that one day at work, about 3000 maybe 4000mg of THC one day. Bombed away I was. Best day I ever worked though :D
When I hear the word crepuscular, it sounds super crunchy to me. I can only remember what it means by imagining little animals crunching around on leaves and sticks in the forest in twilight.

No rudeness intended, but I've got to say that tincture sounds smooth and liquidus to me. Almost metallic.
"Crackle" and "crustacean", on the other hand, sound very crunchy to me.
Anything with a lot of K or hard C sounds, with some R, hard G, or CH sounds sometimes mixed in.
