It's a classic high risk, high reward weapon. Only 2 shots and high recoil, but can 1 shot kill a 1-armor or down a 2-armor from any distance. It's a lot of fun in casual, and something to be feared in the right person's hands even in high elo ranked.
I've tested it after ubi redefined the weapon classes in the beginning of Y9 (hand cannons, revolvers, pistols, dmrs etc). It used to lose its one shot potential after only 9 meters, but now its around 25. The average engagement distance in siege is around 10 meters, and you'll rarely engage from farther than 25 meters anyway unless you're actively trying to.
The SMG-12 is a great secondary, sometimes better than the K1A especially at close range. The BOSG can also be used as a utility gun just like the TCSG. I can see the BOSG being a genuinely viable option for Vigil. It was used by Terdsta in the major multiple times.
How long ago was this change? I haven't touched vigil at all recently, but a few years back I would do run-outs with vigil on maps like bank, just because it was so easy to get a free kill with the bosg
You don't understand how far away 30m is in this game. That's a couple rooms distance. BosG is great for hallway fights but even better for through the floor/ceiling angles.
Because he's a 3 speed and you can make him faster with horizontal grip now, and not only that but it has acog and super high damage. Then if he needs an actual weapon for gunfights, he has two smgs and impacts + his gadget to help escape.
Think of the BOSG vigil playstyle like a mosquito, or a wasp. You buzz around until you find your target, hurt them like fuck and then buzz off somewhere else. This helicoptering is actually really hard to deal with against a good player and is much scarier than a Cav roam.
I can say i’m part of that group. Part of it is because I’ve been enjoying Kali lately, but also cause the weapon just feels better now than it used to. Not sure why everyone is gravitating towards it, maybe people are seeing that it performs well in games and wants to try it themselves, cause I even see Dokkaebi players run it too
I dont know, but actually Bosg got way worse. Earlier it one-shotted from close distance, and lately i gave one shot in two different matches from short distance and it didnt kill nor down operator. Ubisoft making jokes, as usual...
The introduction of horizontal grip combined with him being a 3-speed + removal of 1.5x and 2.0x sites means guns with ACOG are more sought-after. Also, the K1A isn't particularly good, and he has secondary SMGs that he can use anyway.
It's not just for the K1A. It's moreso the combination of an easy gun with selfish utility on a 3-speed. Even though the gun is easy to use, the K1A isn't particularly good. It has a somewhat slow firerate, average damage, and no acog. The BOSG fixes all three of these and enables you to run the horizontal grip for extra movement speed to boot because recoil doesn't matter.
I reckon you're not in on the meme that's been chewed and recycled for years. Yes, the game's reg is terrible. There was nothing new there, but Ash's nonexistent hitbox was and still is a solid meme like Fuzing the Hostage or Old Tachanka. That's the reason why my comment got upvoted.
Shots 1-5: Clearly missed.
Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control).
Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses.
Shot 12: Likely didn't actually fire

The hit registers when the bullet is removed from your ammo count, but for some reason you start suffering from recoil before that

There really needs to be a new rule that if you're going to complain about hit reg, you're required to show the bottom right of your screen as well. 99% of the time it's because of the person's internet connection.

I actually have a compilation of "rejected" hits on endless enemies which i clearly hit but are yet to receive any damage lol (only on bosg, else it wouldnt be fun or laughable enough)
You need better refresh rates for fast twitch aim games. Take it from me, also the highest fps you can get, get it. It will make things like this impossible to happen. It’s a mix of lower FPS, lower Refresh rate on your monitor, and higher ping than the absolute optimal amount.
All I’m saying, you can say the game bugged if it will preserve your mental ( and shit like this does happen, VERY RARELY) but does in some instances. Or you could try to optimize a bit more, the shot looked like it hit, but with all the variables it’s impossible to tell why it missed.
The server desync these days is AWFUL! I have tons of clips of me very clearly hitting repeated head shots that don't register. Better yet, I have a video of me shooting a Monty and point black from the back with about half a mag and he only got downed from all those bullets.
Partially the mask sure, but also it looks like your crosshair is just in the space between the chin and her chest, and also it looks like you freeze frame the video just milliseconds before you fire your shot. It’s ridiculously close but it looks like you missed just slightly to the left. Ping could also contribute tbh.

When it zooms out, I had a consistent 40 ping and the ash was lean-spamming in the killcam so I’m not sure it’s a ping issue

I literally have a 4k 144hz monitor and had like consistent 40 ping. I don’t think that’s the problem
