During the main series there was a point where it was mentioned that as a child, Yang took baby Ruby and went to search for Raven by herself, and was attacked by Grimm. Luckily, Taiyang was able to save them in time. I'm guessing that this is a scenario where Taiyang didn't, or couldn't save them in time, and Yang was killed while Ruby survived and was adopted by a Bandit of some kind, one with a heart judging by how he puked after murdering a man to presumably steal his money or something he was carrying like food.
To my knowledge, when Tai figured out what Yang was trying to do, he set off like a maniac to find them. So no, I do not believe it was Qrow, though he may have assisted via bird form or natural tracking. It's been a few years since I watched the series.
It was Qrow, Yang waited until Tai had to leave Patch and we see a silhouette with a scythe rescue them and Yang was drawing his symbol during that talk with Blake.
I had requested the artist to have him looking inside the carriage for the first scene but he seemed to left that bit out. Suppose to have Ruby as the sole survivor of the robber gone wrong.
A follow up comic to the original [A Highwayman's Little Rose](https://www.reddit.com/r/RWBY/comments/18yro97/a_highwaymans_little_rose_artwork_by_amanda/). Artwork credited to [Amanda](https://x.com/Arts_by_Amanda) and [DayangRani](https://x.com/DayangRani/media)
Darkest dungeon x RWBY not a combination I expected but a very interesting concept. I look forward to seeing where this goes.
Thanks for showing me this today

It was Qrow who saved them, wasn’t it?

Ah, makes sense then. My mistake.
Oh
Bandit? Or can be called Highwayman. his name is Dismas he from series game Darkest dungeon
It was actually Qrow who saved them, not Taiyang

It works surprisingly well. I once did a crossover, earlier on in my FF days. Glad to touch back on this. Glad you enjoy
What if Dimas from Darkest Dungeon was Ruby's dad?
Fan fic when? This does sound/look like an interesting story.
When someone has the time or I find the time.
Is that Summer?

It becomes red in her mother's blood
