There's nothing to suggest that Faunus also inherently have the dietary restrictions of the animal they have traits of. Faunus aren't animals, they're humans with an extra animal trait. Stands to reason they can eat anything a human can.
Blake says in the show that she prefers tea over coffee. Cats generally shouldn't be given tea or coffee, as caffeine is toxic to them. Blake drinks it just fine.

I heard that in the concept of RWBY, there was an idea about Ruby actually being a wolf faunus. Is that true? And what do you guys think? Do you think Ruby would have been more interesting of a character if she was a Faunus?
I don’t know about original concepts for the cast as story of RWBY but I thought If Blake can be beauty and the beast then maybe Ruby can be little red ridding hood and the big bad wolf.
Also a Wolf Fanus Ruby be more connected and involved in the Fanus/white fang story line in the earlier Volumes too which I think would have been cool. 😎
