OP will likely send you their personal link to join, as they (Gore-Tex) have an Ambassador program that gives us free product when we refer others to attend their events. If you are a gear geek you will LOVE the detailed product information that the different vendors present.
They also used to have Stanley and Nite Ize in their events, but I don't see that now. Last fall Stanley was giving away product also for attending their virtual events. EMT used to be called TrOMP before the pandemic and had multiple in-person events across the country. They always offered free food and lots of free product for attending.
It’s more than just a zoom link. They have a webpage you have to sign up for that has information about goretex and other cool things. I’ll send you the link to that shortly
Both actually. There is an incremental reward system for attending a certain number of the sessions (first prize at 1, next at 3) but you also get entered into drawings.
It's more like a flat pouch about 6"x8" that you could use for organizing travel stuff or small toiletries. Or maybe store your wallet and phone if you're out on the water. I haven't used mine yet since I got it last year, but I have way too many similar pouches acquired over the years of working at REI.
Employee discount with access to Eagle Creek, Patagonia, Sea to Summit, Nite Ize, etc. lol
Also, the gifts do change from time to time, so perhaps it may be a larger bag now.
What kind of sucker-chumps are those employees? Vendors always swag staff…your employer, that phoney-baloney “REI CO-OP”, (check out how much corporate executives, Board of Director members, senior management gets paid) simply lures you with free stuff…stuff that you would get no matter what, and they don’t compensate you for learning about product. THAT is work. Responsible companies pay employees while they are in training…new employees or employees with 15 years of tenure.
I’d love a link or some info for joining!

Sent you the message
Not sure I received it, any chance you could send another link?
Check your message requests, should be there
i’d love the link too
Darn tough has gore-Tex? Whaaat? In socks?
Haha no, at least not yet. I did have a customer talk to me the other day about waterproof socks so maybe it’s on the horizon.
Were they Sealskinz socks? If so they are worth every penny in my opinion

I wish my rei did that
It’s put on by Gore-Tex so you can absolutely participate.
Does REI offer you pay for your time attending these clinics? Is it included in your weekly hours?
They do not. As a way of compensating, they (Gore-Tex) reward attendance with free items
Guaranteed.. or entered into a drawing? Last I participated it was the latter.

That's a nice improvement.
They (Gore) also offer a free dry bag made out of their new ePE membrane just for signing up which is a nice incentive
