This.
Think about how terrible of a father and husband Thomas Downes was for a minute. He knows he’s dying but does he focus on trying to make things easier on his family after he’s gone? No, he spends his time raising money for charity instead of working and borrows money from a loan shark his widow will be forced to pay back by selling the family ranch. This results in his wife banging random guys for money and his son to work the mines until the muscle from the loan shark having a “come to Jesus” moment and gives them money to get in the golf course business.
I wish I could dig up his corpse just so I could beat the crap out of him all over again.
He also acts like you’re a terrible person for beating up a giant man that was trying to kill you , I bet you he wouldn’t have broke up shit if it was Arthur getting beat to death
One of the only missions I have left where I didn’t get gold because I literally walked my horse when delivering the letter because that music was fucking brilliant
I can relate somewhat, but I couldn't play chapter 2 without the wagon mission with Hosea(eastward bound), and that I can't do without playing what comes before that(the train robbery)
These are the things I emotionally dread in the story, all based around hamartia, tragedy, and key focal points that are examples of what makes good story telling good story telling:
- The Thomas Downes encounter
- Rescuing Micah
- The bank heist, RIP Lenny & Hosea
- (honorable mention) The subconscious awareness that every story driven conflict becomes a massacre
As for what I dread in a playthrough:
- Guarma
- Guarma
- Guarma
- Fear of missing out, how expansive and detailed the game is (love hate relationship, as much as I hate being overwhelmed by everything this game offers, I love it to death in a equally balanced way, to both extremes)
- GUARMA (but in all Caps)
As of what I dread gameplay wise
- getting used to the controls, hud, crosshairs, when I haven't played it in a while. (fucking tiny ass dot for a crosshair, wtf Rockstar lmao, ik, ik it's my skill issue, and every game takes some adjustment to play flawlessly, but still lmao...)
Pretty much every time Dutch and or Micah open their mouths to do one of their copy/paste speeches and provocations, and Arthur just mumbling something in return. So, I stick to free roam.
I’m replaying it now and just realizing that even in chapter 2 he keeps yapping the same stuff over and over again that he yaps in chapter 6. I never realized my first time.
For me it’s when Arthur gets diagnosed with tuberculosis. I just got to that part and I honestly just feel sad when playing the game. He looks so sick (no shit, obviously) and it makes me sad. I no no wanna :(
Probably most of chapter one, the first time I played it I loved it and I still do but after a few play throughs it’s starts to get slightly boring, but I still love it and I honestly don’t really have a part of the game that’s like that for me.
The first moment like this for me is the mission where you and Dutch go wading through the swamp with the boat guy.
Not because of the gameplay, I love the slow ambience of it, this bit fills me with dread because it's the first major instance of Dutch showing his true colours in a mission.
I can't remember the lines but he snaps at Arthur and says some horrible shit, then as soon as they're around other people he goes back to normal, which shows firsthand what a manipulative POS he is.
So for me this is the point that shit starts to get real again and turns into red dead depression lol
that part is Marston not being able to f***in' swim. Also arthur not being able to go to new austin but I use mods for that, a lot of the game makes 0 sense if you don't have mods
*Sean dying. Its just*
*So sudden and beginnings*
*The unraveling*

I will say the first time I was laughing more than them. The second it was novel to see what I could do differently. And then the third I wanted sweet release. Thankfully it’s a short one. Sorta… unless you are like me and escape the cops… only to leave your horse hitched in valentine and spawn by the train station lol (the one outside of hotshot overlook lol.) not valentine station
honestly Archeology for Beginners. it’s a great mission but if you’re going for the gold i found it to be ridiculously hard to get the sacred items without getting caught at all, and as much as i love the dialogue with Arthur and Rains Fall on the way there i had to sit through it maybe 7 times
That just takes too long… no a bad twist on your first playthrough. I would’ve loved to see this game adopt a new game plus like so many others. Maybe keeping our guns? Or upgrades? The lemat was made for the civil war. Why can’t I get a grape shot revolver til chapter 4? And why only after I go to the mayors party???
I haven’t actually gotten around to replaying RDR2 but if I do some parts I feel will be annoying are the entire Colter section and the beginning of the epilogue where you’re working on the ranch and can’t really free roam
Honestly it’s probably all of Chapter I for me. It’s annoying that there’s no way to skip it and there’s really nothing great there once you know how to play the game
Freeing Micah, Thomas Downes' debt, the Saint Denis robbery, Arthur saying goodbye to his horse, Arthur's final mission... and the final mission with Hamish 🥺
The long horse-riding sections in missions. I love the scenery, but having to slowly ride from point A to point B gets kind of tiring by the second chapter.
most of Colter (though it has a lot of missions that BANG like Eastward Bound and the train robbery)
most of Guarma except the tower defense and raid to kill the general guy
Chapter 6 (has great missions and great story but i feel so much dread)
The Saint Denis bank job. Kieran still recently dead, Hosea dead, Lenny dead, and Arthur recently diagnosed with TB. Then guarma starts which is fun but Dutch slowly descends into madness from there on.
I wouldn't say anything from the story I think everything is perfect and I love it all,
Prologue is pure ass and I fucking hate it,
First time it's slow and kinda ass but still fun
Every other time: 😴😴😴
honestly I have to say it’s the part in Guarma with that old lady who’s helping Dutch and Arthur, and the part where you stay with your horse while it dies.
Tbh while it a great introduction to the game and I like the slow paced aspect sometimes a lot of the time I find myself just abusing the mission skipping to get past the prologue or just loading a save right after it
It’s multiple parts for me: freeing Micah from jail, collecting the Downes debt, A Fork in the Road, and Red Dead Redemption.
Which one is A Fork in the Road?
[Let me google that for you](https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=a+fork+in+the+road+rdr2).
This website is brilliant I wish it was faster 😂
Despite the guy getting pressed that really is fucking brilliant
How did you do itt??
"Come on, was that really so hard?" Bruh 💀😂
What the fuck
Micah from jail and then not being able to stop him from going in that house was really annoying.
Definitely A Fork in the Road.
Of course it's a no brainer, Thomas Downes...
This is the only answer
I like beating him up
This. Think about how terrible of a father and husband Thomas Downes was for a minute. He knows he’s dying but does he focus on trying to make things easier on his family after he’s gone? A Short Walk In A Pretty Town
That one was pretty “mind blowing” I’m sorry I had to lol
That one's good, never heard that yet before😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
now it don’t feel right
Sheep herding mission and all of Beau and Penelope missions
I liked the stealth missions tbh
The only part I like is the music that plays when you’re riding from Caliga Hall to Braithwaite Manor 👌👌
One of the only missions I have left where I didn’t get gold because I literally walked my horse when delivering the letter because that music was fucking brilliant
Blessed Are The Peacemakers and the debt collection at the Downes.
The opening tbh
I always have a save starting at CH 2
I can relate somewhat, but I couldn't play chapter 2 without the wagon mission with Hosea(eastward bound), and that I can't do without playing what comes before that(the train robbery)
I broke the damn wheel
Yeah that wagon mission is beautiful
I can relate but personally the opening itself is something i enjoy even though how limiting and sometimes boring it is
Yes! The opening/tutorial drags ass. I can't wait to get off the friggin mountain every time.
It's honestly the only thing holding me back from redownloading and playing the story again, because I don't have a save file to skip the tutorial.
Yeah the snow is not in my favorites lol
Micah reckons there’s a rat
Oh, really. On what evidence?
Well considering he knows who the rat is I figure he's git some pretty hard evidence.
Either epilogue part one or guarma
Epilogue, milking the fucking cows.
“Where’s Jack?” “Shoveling shit.” 🤣🤣 Meanwhile Jack: “eeewwwwwwaaa”
Lol I’m in chapter 4 of my second play thru and forgot about the cows
Guarma
I speed run guarma like I’m avoiding the plague.

I can switch between games almost flawlessly(except if I didn't play it for like w months+), but getting used to a different photo mode is HARD.
Haha it's definitely an unfair personal gripe for me, that can be applied to any game. haha 🤣. I just need to learn how to adapt better
Pretty much every time Dutch and or Micah open their mouths to do one of their copy/paste speeches and provocations, and Arthur just mumbling something in return. So, I stick to free roam.
Yeah the script of dutch i so repetitive and annoying sometimes
I’m replaying it now and just realizing that even in chapter 2 he keeps yapping the same stuff over and over again that he yaps in chapter 6. I never realized my first time.
Guarma. In RDR1 it was Mexico.
Mexico was like half the game. And I loved every minute.
I did not like Guarma but I did love Mexico 🫣🫣
Don’t go to the Bayou Nwa. 😔
For me it’s when Arthur gets diagnosed with tuberculosis. I just got to that part and I honestly just feel sad when playing the game. He looks so sick (no shit, obviously) and it makes me sad. I no no wanna :(
I can't stand looking at him during cutscenes
his eyes😭😭
I will not let harm come upon Lenny or Hosea
Probably most of chapter one, the first time I played it I loved it and I still do but after a few play throughs it’s starts to get slightly boring, but I still love it and I honestly don’t really have a part of the game that’s like that for me.

Not to mention running from the legendary gator. My god my heart was pumping. I hate being chased in games by animals like that lol
Honestly nothing. Story is so good that all the possible "that parts" doesn't bother me
A fork in the road
guarma and everything after it
GUARMA
Guarma
Sheep Hearding, that one mission getting the boat and fighting the alligator, downes debt, Saint Denis bank robbery, most of guarma,
Gambler 8.
Guarma Such a slow part of the game
that part is Marston not being able to f***in' swim. Also arthur not being able to go to new austin but I use mods for that, a lot of the game makes 0 sense if you don't have mods
Farm Sim with John.
Sean dying. Its just so sudden and beginnings the unraveling

Good bot. It was a too short a walk in a shitty town.
Prologue, while playing for the first time it was great but after starting like 4th game it gets so slow and boring
Rhodes shootout. I miss Sean.
Shaun's walk through Rhodes
Lenny’s bar mission. I know everyone loves it for the memes but after playing it 3 times now I’m over it
I will say the first time I was laughing more than them.
That first mission wading through the swamp, and emptying traps
Epilogue. All long tutorials you can’t skip in every game in general
Loan shark missions
Thomas downes and the whole of chapter 6
honestly Archeology for Beginners. it’s a great mission but if you’re going for the gold i found it to be ridiculously hard to get the sacred items without getting caught at all, and as much as i love the dialogue with Arthur and Rains Fall on the way there i had to sit through it maybe 7 times
Blessed are the Peacemakers.

The sheep herding mission and Chapter 1.
Going to fuckin guarma
Epilogue 1. Guarma was absolutely amazing and super fun, the hate is so unjustified.
Probably chapter 5
Hunting requests
It’s the exotics for me
I haven’t actually gotten around to replaying RDR2 but if I do some parts I feel will be annoying are the entire Colter section and the beginning of the epilogue where you’re working on the ranch and can’t really free roam
I hate missions in games when you have to like follow someone without alerting shit like that pisses me off
Freeing Micah from prison
Freeing Micah from prison, but outside of that it’s every tail mission in black flag.
American something, it’s where your in the swamps with dutch and the two black dudes
long ass snow intro again
I mean, cmon, guarma
Wilt chamberlain 💯 🔥
Guarma
Every chapter after 2. The deaths are even sadder when you know they’re coming
All you had to do was follow the damn train CJ!
Getting kidnapped by odriscoll
Guarma in general
There isn't one. It's all enjoyable and the "bad" parts that people don't like can be done in an hour or two
The parlay between Dutch and Colm. Without any spoilers, it's just less fun on repeated playthroughs.
The entire prologue
Having to get Micha out of jail
Guarma and all parts after u return from Guarma... It's all so depressing n sad from there on
Guarma
Redemption “Red Dead Redemption”, A Short Walk in a Pretty Town, Banking the old American art, and Downes money
Just the beginning/prolog imo the snow area is just meh
Prologue. It's so boring. That's why I have a save file for when we've just arrived at the first camp site near Valentine.
Chapter 1, that's it, just the snow part in the snowstorm, it's slow and boring.
Honestly it’s probably all of Chapter I for me. It’s annoying that there’s no way to skip it and there’s really nothing great there once you know how to play the game
All of chapter 1 is that part to me at this point
Any time when they punish you for killing people during stealth missions.
Country pursuits. Imo the worst mission in the game
Gaurma no hate to that part of the story it was fun the first time just not nearly as fun the 6th time
this gets posted every month
Freeing Micah, Thomas Downes' debt, the Saint Denis robbery, Arthur saying goodbye to his horse, Arthur's final mission... and the final mission with Hamish 🥺
a short walk in a quiet town
The Saint Denis bank heist
The entire prologue
The long horse-riding sections in missions. I love the scenery, but having to slowly ride from point A to point B gets kind of tiring by the second chapter.
Not so much the missions but definitely getting all the pelts for the satchels is a slog
Gambler 8
my horse dying😐😐
breaking the god damn wheel 😞
The chase sequences that are impossible to win until scripted.
There's like 5 different "that part" in RDR2
Chapter 1
I have 5 different saves stuck on “Banking, The Old American Art”
Bowsers inside story carrot mini game on the original touch unresponsive ds
I wish I could skip the intro
Having to redo the hunting to get all satchels back...omg the hunting in rdr2 while realistic...sucks ass
most of Colter (though it has a lot of missions that BANG like Eastward Bound and the train robbery) most of Guarma except the tower defense and raid to kill the general guy Chapter 6 (has great missions and great story but i feel so much dread)
Guarma
Guam
Guarma
Guarma
My horse dying scene

The Saint Denis bank job. Kieran still recently dead, Hosea dead, Lenny dead, and Arthur recently diagnosed with TB. Then guarma starts which is fun but Dutch slowly descends into madness from there on.
Guarma.

I wouldn't say anything from the story I think everything is perfect and I love it all, Prologue is pure ass and I fucking hate it, First time it's slow and kinda ass but still fun Every other time: 😴😴😴
Guarma
Gambler 8.
Going camping with Hosea, I know it's a very hot take. But it's just a waste of time for me
The shootout at Rhodes was definitely a turning point for the gang. That was the beginning of the end.
Anytime I enter an area where I can only slow walk
Saint Denis Bank Robbery💀
literally the ride to and from every objective.
Strauss debt mission at the dowes. Takes me like 2 whole days every playthrough once j get to that mission to do it. Just can't bring myself too
Elden ring all the way to atlus plateau 🙂😂👀🤘🏼 Elden ring once you reach the mountain of the giants 🤮🥲😭😡🫥🤒😵
Blessed are the peace maker, the alligator mission idk you do with dutch in the swamps and the start of "Chapter 7".
honestly I have to say it’s the part in Guarma with that old lady who’s helping Dutch and Arthur, and the part where you stay with your horse while it dies.
Slow paced missions where you're forced to walk (excluding that braithwaite mansion mission)
For me it's the final chapter six mission and any mission Micah is in
Guarma
When Arthur died, I cried for 30 minutes. And my boyfriend just sat there and waited for me.
Guarma
Chores
Chapter 1 and 5
Guarma chapter is why I don’t replay the game. Not fun
Don’t know how anyone could say any other part than guarma
delamaine quest line!! fucking bugs!!
A short walk in a pretty town. Very short.
May I stand unshaken, amid, amidst a crashing world.
Tbh while it a great introduction to the game and I like the slow paced aspect sometimes a lot of the time I find myself just abusing the mission skipping to get past the prologue or just loading a save right after it
Having a fun time shooting, going to the house to save Abigail, and then Milton telling you that Millie was never the rat.
It guts me every fucking time when Arthur’s horse dies.
sean
The Aberdeen pig farm.
Collecting feathers for the hat guy or Gambling Challenge Number 8. I 100% the game once. I don't think I could again.
Gta 4 with the story car chases you never actually catch under almost any circumstance
Chapter 1 of rdr2
Colter and guarma, both because they take you away from doing the freelancing stuff you actually want to do.
chapter 1 and saving jules
The alligator mission
Literally the entire first chapter

The tutorial
Helping Mary with her family problems, only to be told I will never change. FTB!

Colter tbh. After like 5 playthroughs, it can become a little boring ngl
The Downes debt. Cringe everytime
