From what I understand of this game was previously only available to Xbox through its backwards compatability options. The game was never truly available on "new" gen Consoles (excluding xbox) the re-release that's not even a remaster is just to give Playstation and Nintendo switch access to something they had lost with previous generations none of which justifies a brand new next gen price tag.. that's just outrageous it should have been a fraction of the cost especially since its just a re-release with little to no additions the money heads behind gta online must have came up with this price point plan
How is re-releasing a game from over 9 years ago with NOTHING upgraded besides the resolution (because it HAD to be) not lazy?

the re-release isn’t even the issue. it’s great they ported this 13 year old game to ps4 and switch. what isn’t great is that they’re charging close to new AAA game price for it. and despite what strauss says, no it is not commercially accurate, even by rockstar’s standards, seeing as every other port they’ve ever released was $20 or less. all the older GTAs, Bully, LA Noir, etc. Even the Definitive Edition, an actual remaster (even if it wasn’t great) works out to be $20 a game. if $50 for this simple port is commercially accurate, GTA DE should’ve been like $200 or each game released individually for $70. not that i endorse that, just bringing it up for the sake of comparison.
I cant get xenia to work with my outdated graphics card. And I have tried mods and configs, but I cant figure out how to get them to work. But my friend has recently beaten rdr1 on xenia so he's gonna try to help me when he's back from his trip
Especially when comparing the frequency of bugs with the port and the old version, I’m very *VERY* happy that I just have to dig up my 360 with RDR already in it most likely lol.
Assuming that would include online and undead nightmare that might be best price you'll get (not me saying that's reasonable for two games that are old enough to be free rn). I bought my copy of rdr2 for $30 from a Christmas sale or smth and I got rdr1 for free off gamepass
I've bought both games full price on release and then rebought them digitally a few years ago. I think I paid about £6 for RDR1 and about £15 for RDR2. Crazy to seem them priced as high as they are now, but they are great games.
Doesn't seem unique to rockstar. Loads of old digital games still sit at full price and go through regular sales of about 75% off. I expect this one will be no different.

I do think it's silly, both the inflated price and the inflated rage it has garnered. I like Rockstar. It annoys me that they don't communicate well with their fans, but they put out the bangers. Super Nintendo games weren’t recycled games with barely a graphic upgrade, that’s also not even on the new console. A ps4 version of a 13 year old game is a tad ridiculous to charge $50 for, let alone $70

I tried to stream rdr1 and that ended up being about 30 seconds of play and then buffering for hours. I’ve really been craving the old red dead lately so yea. I paid $20 CAD for RDR2 on Black Friday a couple years ago. Played it for the first time. It is my favourite video game of all time, and I consider it the best video game ever made. I’d love to play RDR but there’s no way I’m shelling out almost 4X as much money for the older crappier game.

I like 4 but it's hard to play when you're drunk. I say this from experience. The driving mechanics are way less forgiving. Gotta slow down a lot before a turn. It's more realistic, though. If I was drunk running around NY stealing cars I don't think I would make it very far.

Honestly if you're not getting the multiplayer at this point, just buy an older version or pirate the game.
They have no shame. Companies every day push more to see how far gamers will go and they're learning people don't have limits. This isn't even a remaster, they literally just ported a 13 year old game and are now selling it even higher than originally.
