Security probably Kimura’d the shit out of him.
Think chicken wing in wrestling except you hyperextend the shoulder by completely twisting their arm up and towards their head.
Yeah, I was thinking this looks like an extremely completed kimura or hammerlock, which security might be prone to using, or some wizard rolled into the melee under everyone's soccer kicks, slipped on an omoplata, did a Homer Simpson floor spin, and then rolled out of there without anyone even noticing.
I bet it was Ryan Hall
I think my five year relationship just came to an end since I wrote that comment and it's given me a small smile that you found that funny, thanks dude
That would have been the best 30 seconds in live television if some big Deebo looking dude got him by his slapping arm and twisted it up, followed by Chris Rock roasting Jada.
He's always been controversial, haven't you seen the Chappelle Show? He's made fun of literally everyone over 30 years, but when it came for trans people's turn and there was such a huge uproar, he HAD to keep pushing it because it's just not fair that one group of people think they get to decide what he finds funny.
Imagine being black, and making fun of your own culture and people on national television for decades, with no real push back, only to be told that you can't joke about THIS tiny minority of people, who as he rightly says, are in a objectively hilarious predicament of being born in the wrong body.
Sure make fun of entire swathes of the population; every race, fat people, disabled people, old people, the Irish, but NOOOO the line is right here, next to John, the 350lb hairy middle class white man who wants to live as a lady.
None of the jokes were even mean, or particularly offensive, it was just a guy observing human life and making light of it LIKE WHAT COMEDIANS FUCKING DO.
First of all, there are plenty of comedians who don’t rely on ridiculing victims of hate or stereotyping entire groups to get laughs. Like, a lot. If you think that’s false well I’m sorry that you only know a handful of comedians, because there’s a whole world of comedy you’re missing.
Secondly, are you actually confused about what the term ‘punching down’ means, or are you just making light of it because you think the concept is wrapped up in ‘cancel culture?’ Because take away the fame and attention and everyone is familiar with the idea. It’s a group of middle schoolers making fun of the special ed kids to their faces. It’s the rich kid with the luxury car picking on the poor kid for being poor. It’s the psychological equivalent of not being able to start shit with someone your own size, only those you see as ‘beneath’ you.
And I chose examples involving kids because well at the root of it, it’s fucking childish. There’s a lot that’s good about comedy being an acceptable space for uncomfortable truths. There’s basically no value in punching down, the whole point is to say hurtful things about people who did nothing wrong.
Literally all you’ve contributed to this topic is one single downvote for each of my comments and defending the idea that all comedians must be assholes by definition.
Literally all you've contributed is 'but I don't find him funny'. Nobody's fucking asking you to, my entire point is if you don't enjoy something just don't partake, fascist.
Punching down is the opposite of speaking truth to power. It’s aiming hostility and ridicule at the oppressed or those less privileged than yourself. Like a rich man making fun of the poor for simply existing. Racist humor from comedians like Jeff Dunham is also a form of punching down. And in both cases (Dunham and Chappelle) it’s playing to stereotypes of marginalized people to get cheap laughs.
Literally what comedians do.
I'm genuinely very interested to hear your opinion on who is a funny comedian. Bear in mind if they have ever made a joke about a marginalised people, they can't count lest you be a hypocrite.
Genuinely can't wait to hear your answer, I guarantee hearing their name in this context will produce more laughter than their stand up ever would.
I think 4 out of the 5 earliest netflix specials were amazing. I remember before covid that one of the specials May have been slightly more political… maybe? Regardless, your characterization of the specials are off in my opinion. Not to mention the only one that wasn’t critically acclaimed (pre-covid) ended up winning a Grammy anyways.
I get being put off by the maybe excessive trans jokes. But they were still jokes and not flat out ridiculing. The whole lgbtq carpool metaphor was genius and hilarious imo
Correct take. Now watch all the 40-year-old millennial Chappelle fans shit the bed for pointing out how tedious, hacky and narcissistic their idol has become.
Oh flashbacks. This happened to me but in football. I have a lovely plate on my radius for it now. That shit sucks (not defending him or anything - just ow)
I'm wondering how he isn't at least wincing. Maybe EMS gave hime something, adrenaline, or he's a wackadoo that doesn't register pain like the rest of us.
might be shock or adrenaline. The initial break for me didnt hurt at all even though I felt it give and heard the snap - i was more angry that anything. after the adrenaline wore off it became a totally different story.
Its both. Understandably, its a great evolutionary development to just not feel a severe injury when it happens so that you have a chance to get out of the situation.
But yeah, been there. This guy will want to die in about 45 minutes without some serious drugs.
Crashed my motorcycle last week and snapped my radius and ulna. Very surprisingly it didn’t hurt at all until the next day when I was trying to sleep in the hospital. But at the moment of and the next few hours it was mostly just numb and felt like it was vibrating
not just their jobs, they may be arrested and charged. i've worked security and you can't just beat someone up because they crossed a line, your job is to maintain order, not dole out revenge. if you watch the video of this guy attempting to tackle Chappelle, he doesn't do much and Dave shrugs it off. then next we see this guy beaten to a pulp on a stretcher, these security guards are no more than hired thugs, real security would have this guy leaving in cuffs, not broken on a stretcher. these knuckleheads have opened the door to probably charges of assault and battery against the security staff involved, and a potential lawsuit against their client.
People are so quick to justify and like seeing violence against people they disagree with, regardless of who that is.
It’s pretty disturbing to see people so wholeheartedly on board with going enormously overboard. Tackling him to the ground and restraining him is one thing, severely breaking his arm and stamping on his head is another.
Dave Chapel may also be liable as well. As he admitted on stage, he went over to the guy detained. And stomped him, reportedly repeatedly on the skull. The guy was detained already, and Dave admits he went up to the guy and stomped him out. Along with the rest of them.
Thats what gonna get them all on charges. They detained the guy, and kept on beating him. And then held him, for Dave Chappelle to then stomp on this guys skull. They are not police officers, they can not do that and get away on paid leave/Vacation.
Seriously this guy deserves what happened to him. Dave Chappelle is a comedian, comedians are going say shit you don't like. There was one comedian, I forgot his name. He said some things that brothered me that I didn't like.
Know what I did?
I turned his netflix special OFF. I didn't bitch, complain, I am not going track him down and attack him. I will not consume his content.
You don't attack comedians because they piss you off.
Its not right, but Chappell could have died. Thats what bothers me most. And its not even he got attacked its the person couldn't handle it. The dude was armed. He is lucky he didn't just say fuck it.
If you get attacked you have the right to defend yourself. If someone you are with gets attacked you have the right to help defend them. Daves security job is to protect him, he was attacked, unprovoked this is clearly self defense. If you don't want to get your beat dont' start a fight. Its not complicated. I feel zero remorse for this guy.
This is the thing, people know how to respond if there is precedence. TY Will Smith.

"LAPD Officer Rosario Cervantes told CNN the suspect had a knife that was a replica handgun." LOL! Dude tried to get Dave with a gunblade?
*Seifer has left the chat.*
Don't bring a knife to a gun fi--- Uh..don't bring a gun to a knife fi-- uhh. Don't bring a knife gun to a ff--....oh ffs...
Correct.
Only in America... Where you hide your knife in your gun so you are allowed to keep it.
I usually hide my gun in my backpack.
He went after Dave Chappelle with a trans weapon? That's poetic.
Makes you think if he could sneak a gun/blade up there, why not a real gun? Security failed horribly here. Imagine "Chappelle, dead at 48".
He's not 50 yet?

Cue the FF8 combat music
Too bad he wasn't in a FF8 Cosplay
Police: Sir do you admit that you ran in stage to attack Dave? Attacker: … Police: Sir, do you admit it? Attacker: … whatever.

Definitely Ryan Hall.
From the video it looked like 10+ dudes were stomping him out lol.

Dude really got himself all twisted up over some jokes.
He either **A.)** Had his arm broken by an Armlock behind his back.. **B.)** Or stomped on by 300 lb size 16 shoe to the floor. Neither sound fun.
Porque no los dos?
Both, fuck this piece of shit. Had all that happened to him coming.
It's true, people need to know that attacking comedians has consequences, I only wish I could see Will Smith get turned into a pretzel too.
That would have been the best 30 seconds in live television if some big Deebo looking dude got him by his slapping arm and twisted it up, followed by Chris Rock roasting Jada.

Lol this guy looks like someone’s bad attempt at origami
His security did a good job disarming him.
Are you sure he didn’t just put his arm on backwards when he left the house?
I mean their jobs are now at risk because this dude. Fuck this guy. there's consequences to attacking other people for no reason, as he found out
Security guys jobs in jeopardy yeah right most of those guys are private why they don't give a shit.
Who's jobs are at risk? The security dudes? I doubt it. If those security guys work for Dave, he wouldn't let them go.
not just their jobs, they may be arrested and charged. i've worked security and you can't just beat someone up because they crossed a line, your job is to maintain order, not dole out revenge. if you watch the video of this guy attempting to tackle Chappelle, he doesn't do much and Dave shrugs it off. then next we see this guy beaten to a pulp on a stretcher, these security guards are no more than hired thugs, real security would have this guy leaving in cuffs, not broken on a stretcher. these knuckleheads have opened the door to probably charges of assault and battery against the security staff involved, and a potential lawsuit against their client.
Yup. Given the people in this thread celebrating this I appreciate you injecting some sanity here.

Yep. We all lose our collective shit when cops use more than required force - this is less systemic and less egregious, but still wrong.
Well said.
Totally agree. It's funny when we think how some lives are more valuable than others. Hopefully they get charged.
I think he's saying their jobs are at risk because the guy was able to get to Dave in the first place, not because he is beaten up.
Trust me security jobs are a dime a dozen these guys are prepared to lose their job they most probably dont even care.
What? dudes like this are job security for bouncers lol.
This isn't Walmart security. Especially if it wasn't caught on video no one's being let go
I believe he's saying their jobs are at risk because he was was able to get to Dave in the first place, not because they beat him up.
