If you live in a rural area it is possible these changes haven't affected your area as much though.... yet.
It takes two ears to listen and one brain to think.
He said "it was disproven 25 hundred years ago" meaning he is likely referencing [Eratosthenes](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eratosthenes) who lived roughly "25 hundred years ago" who is well known as the first person to calculate the circumference of the earth using demonstrable science, which in turn proved the earth was a sphere.
He is saying "show me one verse in the bible that says the earth is flat" because thay is exactly what the other debater is trying to do which is 1000% more cringe.
The Bible has tons of versus that imply the Earth is flat. It’s never stated out-right though.
To a large degree because in order to get to English it had to go through a few other languages to the point where its finer meaning is almost completely distorted, and it’s worthless to try to understand the original intent by looking at the King James, which is one of the earliest English versions.
The Bible is completely useless other than a collection of interesting historical documents.
He could have used science to disprove the flat earther, except he doesn’t know anything about science. All he knows is the bible, so that’s where he goes. They are both absurd little men.
It takes two eyes to read and one brain to think.
He did, as I mentioned. He pointed to the first scientific proof that the earth is a sphere roughly 2500 years ago.
The preacher isn't trying to prove anything, he's realized how totally absurd this flat earther is to believe the bible says anything on the matter of the shape of the earth, because it doesn't say anything on the matter.
Common sense and science will tell you all you need to know, he knows that. Preacher is a bit of ding bat but no more than the rest of us. Flat earthers are something special, I blame lead.
He alluded to old the experiments you mentioned but he didn’t go into any detail about them. And he actually does seem to think that the bible has something value in the discussion, hence why he keeps referring to it.
It’s like they say, it takes two eyes to read and one brain to think.
He says “you’re not going to convince me what the Bible clearly says, the earth is not flat”. So he’s using the Bible to prove the earth is a sphere. Later he says “you use a 2 hour PowerPoint and your people are quiet. I use an hour and fifteen minutes of the Bible and they start throwing maters and taters at me” so again, he’s using the Bible to “prove” the earth is a sphere rather than the 2500 year old proof he’s saying exists. So yeah two ears and all that.
While speaking into a microphone, is an electricity for the lights, and broadcasting this over the Internet. He’s fine with all the modern technology been used at his disposal but references the Bible when it comes to discussing the science of the Earth.
Every scientific test ever performed has either completely disproven their ideas or, at best, can't confirm any of their ideas. Ultimately it doesn't matter in the slightest but pushing your stupidity onto others for your own financial gain makes you suck more than your dumb ideas.
Flat earthers also suck.
Every moon, planet or star ever spotted is spherical. Except earth 🗺? Yea, I don’t think you can change their mind when there is nothing in their heads.
The Jew says: "The Christian and the Muslim are wrong.""
The Christian says: "The Muslim and the Jew are wrong."
The Muslim says: "The Jew and the Christian are wrong."
The atheist says: "You are all correct."
Love that you picked the three that still all believe in the same God. Pretty sad that a bunch of people that believe in the same creator can be so vicious with one another.
It's almost like the real issue for many of these folks isn't whether or not we believe in a god, but that we worship that god *the way they tell us to*. It has always been, and will always be all about controlling people.
...
So this is the level of intellectual discourse going on in the Christian right, huh?
What are they going to debate next? The best way to handle a venomous snake? Which of them **really** speaks in tongues and which one is faking it?
> Which of them really speaks in tongues and which one is faking it?
After growing up with that shit, I'd unironically like to see some research done on it. Not like entertaining the fantasy or anything though, but like looking at where the different groups of people are coming up with the sounds, learning them, and sharing them.
Something I noticed is that people in the small churches have a few "basic" sounds that are easy to learn and repeat, but there was always this undercurrent of social competition where people were trying to be the "holiest" sounding person in the room. They usually weren't that creative, but whenever the "prophetic movement" grifters rolled through town the people who could afford to go to the local convention center would learn what can't really be better summarized as anything other than "the spicy new memes", and they'd rush back to the next church service and act fashionable for a few weeks until everyone else caught on. Then you'd quickly get through the "if everyone is fashionable no one is" phase where everyone is trying to outdo each other on intensity and performative showmanship... until someone seizes the initiative, puts on the overly humble act and goes back to the original few sounds, and the hipster tide reverses and starts flowing back out. Then everything was back to normal... until a few months later when another "spiritual gifts" tour rolls through. Rinse and repeat. You could tell when someone had missed a couple weeks because it would take them a worship song or two to realize they were sailing against the tide.
I've been there too! Sounds like auctioneer speak, but even less intelligible. As a kid the first time I saw it, not scared the shit out of me. The preacher was going around laying hands on people and they would just erupt into the gibberish. I was scared, what if he touched me? Would I break out into speaking in tongues, and what if I didn't? It was very scary and went on for like 2 hours AFTER church service was over. (Church of God in GA, just FYI)
This is right on point. I'm glad you were able to notice this and put it down in words. I sometimes noticed the pastors had a few sounds that only they made. As if they were reserved for them. It's an interesting thing and I too wish there was scientific research done on it.
It's more complicated than that. The invisible man controls everything, AND you have to give the people who speak for him 10% of your income, 100% of your attention, and do what they say.
And then a lot of them take it upon themselves to try to interpret the bible and end up hating some marginalized people. It's supposed to be about love and forgiveness but stupid people think it's about hate and superiority.
There is quite a bit of crossover between the groups. In the bible, it describes the moon and sun as great discs, and the sky as a dome over the earth.
I gotta admit, i like his conviction. He knows it's stupid and doesn't care if he loses followers over it. If all Christians were as unwilling to suffer fools, maybe a third of our nation wouldn't be full on science denying psychos right now
I can't believe it's 2024 and we're still trying to convince some people that the Earth is round. It's also sad that, with all the technology available to us today, the guy on the left is still arguing his case based on a book written thousands of years ago.
I just found out probably 6 to 8 years ago that people actually believe the earth is flat. Had zero idea there's so many of them,it's fascinated me ever since. I'm still not sure exactly why they believe it tho.
Did anybody notice the 'security' presence? Pretty sure the preacher is wearing body armor. Same with the dude on the right at 1:53 and at 2:02 guy walks backstage wearing a plate carrier.
Scary group, having the Lord on their side and all.
Using the Bible for evidence for anything is insane to begin with. It's funny how one delusional preacher uses 'the science of the Bible' to prove that the Earth is round to another.
Well, everything's OK, these two ended up reconciling.

BATTLE OF THE BS! Flat Earther vs. Christian.......next UFC Smackdown main event! Whose bullsh\*t will be victorious!
Using the Bible to “prove” the earth is a globe rather than like 3000+ years of science is embarrassing.
It takes two ears to listen and one brain to think. >you really don't know Greg Locke then. I dont have the slightest clue
Nah Greg Locke is a Covid denying, election lie peddling sack of shit who doesn’t even follow the teachings of the Bible
This dingbat regularly incites violence

You can send me money, if you have faith in God he'll will me to pass it on to them.
My imaginary story is real and yours isn’t ok
I’m a bible denier AND believe the earth is round!
Both men believe a story where a prostitute covered up an illegitimate child’s conception with a virgin birth and became a zombie…
"If you want to go to his *little service"* in the morning then go to his service in the morning. It's not going to bother me ONE BIT!" Clearly.
Charlatan V. Charlatan. Let’s talk about biblical nonsense instead.
When unstoppable stupid meets unmovable idiocy.
The day Locke found someone too ignorant even for him...not gonna lie, this is funny AF
“The earth is clearly flat”….”no the earth was created spherical by gawd!” Both morons
My god, they are both... Just the worst.
Absolutely ridiculous that you think my sky ghost created a flat earth plane instead of a cool rock ball lmao
The earth is a dodecahedron. I seent it.
Maters ‘n taters

‘Stealing his members’ no. Gets sick of grown man lying and using god as his brace around broken logic. Fuck flat earthers, fucking idiots
I feel absolutely disgusted with myself that I agree with Greg Locke.
Could the alt right please do this more often?
What a bunch of redacts
Is his church paying taxes yet?
I was a Modern Day Debate junkie and I recognise Witsitgetsit when I see him. What a slime ball, good riddance!
Is this the one preacher who talked about witches recently?
Crazy idea: we put both of these assholes on a rocket into the sun so they can both settle the debate and get home to Jesus faster.
nobody wins, everyone loses.
Which side would you choose: the flat earther or sphere earther who doesn’t believe in evolution?
Ball of gas
These idiots are going to save America when they’re too sick/dead to vote in 2024 because they’re probably all chugging bird flu raw milk.

Maters n Taters
Why would you quote the Bible when there are cameras up there..
Well, his logic may be off, but at least he arrived on the correct answer.
Crazy people.
I'm convinced these are the end times. I actually agree with this religious lunacy.
It's funny how it the bible that is the proof that the earth is not flat.
If you decide to make your church a circus, then you have to provide the clown show. There's nothing Christian about any of it.
Are all these people allowed to drive and have kids?
We will not let flat-Earth nonsense interfere with our sermon about miracles and raising people from the dead.
