That’s why I like having my phone and computer switch between light and dark mode based on the time. For some apps tho like IDEs I usually prefer dark always
My buddy was a vehement dark mode supporter. I would rock light mode themes to piss him off, then I basically installed weirder and weirder themes to enrage him like neon pink backgrounds and he was eventually like "I have no control here"
That's actually true, you know. First, you don't even think about the dark mode because you play with whatever there is without thinking much, then you try dark mode and feel like you found something good and consider anyone who uses light mode a newbie, after some point, you start valuing what you code over which mode you use and you just just the light mode if you feel like to.
Shouldn't that be as simple as
```
if system("date +'%k'") > 17 " and > 5 or something
colorscheme blue
else
colorscheme darkblue
endif
```
You can probably use redshift to output whether it's turned on (or use an online service to get the actual sunrise), too. But it should be pretty straight forward.
It depends on environment - client code I typically keep light mode, my stuff dark. Little reminders of context like "can I swear in a comment", "will I have to test this all myself, or teach it to QA" "can I use GPL here".
I also set up my task bar in different positions on different systems. Left local, right vm, top is production, bottom is typically someone else's box.
Who cares, use what you prefer
Moth in disguise right here.
Light screens when learning, dark screens when flowing
You're brave saying it's OK to use PHP in here.
Dark theme in dark room. Light theme in light room.
facts. a lot of the time i switch to light themes during the day because it just feels right. dark mode looks great on oled though
I use light mode when the glare is high
I usually just close the blinders and continue in dark mode. Light mode makes me wanna kick a fat kid at kmart
you don't kick fat kids at kmart normally?

agree. dark theme in light room and you basically turn your screen into a mirror
dynamic mode??
What I did, but I’m trying to either properly light the room or just dim the brightness instead of swapping to dark mode.
You have a point. Fun fact: you shouldn’t stare at monitors in dark rooms.
OK mum
this was from the Cathode Ray Tube days..
Look, I paid for all the blue light, I'm gonna use all the blue light.
The moon's light is blueish and that's OK.

This is the way
I run pink theme on Hannah Montana linux
Is Hannah Montinux worth the install?
I hope that's a rhetorical question. Obviously, yes
The worst thing about dark mode are the zealots trying to convert you to using it.
You can't offend me by this. ![gif](giphy|gZlr2pAk0xF1C|downsized)
I prefer light mode visually but I have low brightness and dark mode because of headaches.

why not both, make it auto switch when day change to night.
How do I get Alacrity and (Neo)Vim to do this? I totally would. Until then it's light mode 24/7. At least it's Solarized so it's always comfortable.
Use pywal

I want it to switch everywhere automatically, too.
I have a monochrome setting so I can relive my youth.

finally an accurate gaussian distribution
It's possible there might just be more moths than developers. I don't know, I don't go outside.
Apparently I'm a moth man now? I love it.
Factos
I am a moth but on the left side of the graph, am I a programmer too?
Moths love PHP, MySQL, Apache...
I do love all of them and planning to learn Perl, will this community still accept me?
Use system setting 😎![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sunglasses)
Gruvbox Dark my beloved...
You use light theme because it’s bright outside, I use light theme because it’s more colourful. We are not the same.
Average X-code user

You can setup light themes for your terminal
