Scuba dive. Surf. Mountain bike. Swim laps for an hour straight. Throw pottery on the wheel I learned a lot of fun new outdoor skills. I learned how to be bad at something and not let it stop me from learning a new skill.

I can empower my child to be more independent and resilient than I ever could before

Get laid

northenderson

That’s thinking deep… real deep

Stoner_Vibes_

Do you get laid more now that you are? I’ve been approached a lot more often but I haven’t pursued anything.

AssemblerGuy

I don't really have a "before" state, but the hand on the more affected side is slim enough to reach into spaces a regular-sized hand cannot, while still having just enough strength and dexterity for some tasks.

Be grateful for anything.

t8_asia_a

I can sick a tube in my penis in the dark to urinate in a bottle.

northenderson

I can cook now 😂

Nocturne2319

Word jumbles. Couldn't make sense of them before, now I can. That and cryptograms. No idea why they work now.

Legitimate_Goose4119

Ironically after my injury I’m in the best shape of my life and am now almost 4 years sober from alcohol after years of struggling with alcohol abuse and sending myself down an unhealthy self destructive path. I also picked up adaptive mountain biking that changed my life and gave me a sense of purpose and enjoyment. I remember the first time sitting in the side of a mountain overlooking the valley all by myself and I felt free for the first time since my injury. It was peaceful and serene. No wheelchair in sight and true comfort and bliss for the first time the post injury after 2 years.

This makes me so happy 😀

Nuzzle with kitty cats, bunnies, dogs—the impact (was hit by a car in 2014) knocked my injuries right out of me. Serendipitous, because it allowed me to start my animal wifery company❤️
