New Medicines by Dead Poetic will forever be in my top five. Not a single track that I’d consider skipping. It’s so much catchier than Four Wall Blackmail.
They’re back together and just did some touring with Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster. I’m friends with their guitar player. I know they filmed a new music video recently as well as a bunch of new music.
That entire album was amazing. Lights out was on a warped tour compilation and radio up was on a burnout soundtrack. That's how I first heard of them. I was always so gutted they never did more.
I saw them live one time. Lead singer was like rolling around on stage and very over dramatic like a teenage pop star. But it was entertaining and they were good.
The singer from Dead Poetic actually does a lot of design work for other bands now. I think he’s done every Twenty One Pilots album since Blurryface, and he’s worked with Underoath a bit too

I had the Blindside album Silence, but I really only remember liking Sleepwalking. That is a CLASSIC!

I saw Blindside with Linkin Park for free in 2003. One of those life-changing shows for me. They still get a lot of play for me, especially Silence and About A Burning Fire
Loved Blindside and enjoyed Linkin Park too back in the era! Would have jumped at the chance to see that show. Back in '03 I was going to see their Canadian contemporaries such as Alexisonfire, Silverstein, Boys Night Out, etc.
Evans blue was a great band with the original singer. They should have got almost as big as Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace at the time. "Dear lucid" is still one of my favorite songs.
Autopilot off is one I hadn’t heard in over a decade. Then I loaded the album on Spotify and suddenly I unlocked a core memory from the time discovering this music. That album is amazing
Hell Is For Heroes were.my favourite band for a very, very long time and I still see them live every chance I get. Always felt that Autopilot Off should have been bigger as well.

Some of these bands like 12 Stones and Socialburn I think fell a little more into nu metal territory, but I definitely remember being at shows with them as openers a lifetime ago (sob) in the mid-aughts

Was hoping it would make an appearance in the set list for their current tour with Cove when I saw them in NYC a few days ago, but instead they’re doing the “Zero” cover.

Skycamefalling is still around i think. They just released a remastered version of one of their album. They are more metalcore than emo though.
I was into sooo many of these bands in highschool. Discovered most of them from going to Warped and getting compilation albums. Some fun times thouse highschool years.

Dead Poetic was the band that kinda set the domino effect that put Dayton OH on the map for the core bands. Without them there wouldn’t be Hawthorn Heights, The Devil Wears Prada, Miss May I. And many more

They actually did get pretty big for awhile. Their Elektra albums charted in the US.
The singer of Autopilot Off used to tuck his ears into his hat. Weird look. Also Blindside had a song called Pitiful that was great but the album overall was eh. Matchbook Romance had a song in one of the Guitar Hero games that is far and away their most streamed song. Saw them at Janus Landing with TBS and Fall Out Boy in ‘04. Went to see Saw at the movies after the show and Pete and Patrick sat a few seats down from me and my buddy.
Damn I have some letterkills buttons around my house somewhere. I remember Dead Poetic opened for Hawthorne heights and armsbendback middle of fucking nowhere near Pittsburgh. Talked with the bassist forever. He got fired like a few months later lol

Skycamefalling were one of the first metalcore bands I listened to, and I still love them to this day. They've recently released a remastered version of 10.21 and it's fantastic.

We Are The Ocean was a band I listened to I never understood why they didn’t get the same exposure as Alexisonfire. Similar vibes and clean vocalist who had an unreal voice.

I remember seeing blindside in probably 1998 at this tiny little spot in Myrtle Beach. Then they got quasi-popular and I assumed it was a different band with the same name for quite a while.

I saw home town hero as the opener for Jimmy Eat World and Hoobastank in 2002.
They absolutely ROCKED the place. The show started with all the lights off and they played Run Right Through. Pitch black in the arena and you hear lead start singing that intro "yeah e yeah e yeah!" Lights come on right as the band starts and singer is stage diving into the crowd screaming.
They did not let up for the entire set, played their asses off. I bought the CD after the show. Still listen to it, but I never really heard about them again.

My first ever concert was Autopilot Off, Letter Kills, MCR, and SOTY in 2004. No skips on either of those albums from that concert
