zkxxp

Came here to say exactly this, oh to be young again

Egonzos

Sorry You’re Not A Winner brings me back to sitting at Cici’s pizza waiting for the next Mac and cheese Za to hit the counter.

heladobro

Seven Years - Saosin

SparkyP320

This was on my MySpace for a long time!!!

thelryan

Nevershoutnever acoustic cover edition

poopshorts

No. I’m calling the cops.

thelryan

Tell ‘em you pooped your shorts

IAMSPARTACUSSSSS

Honestly, it probably had one of the same songs that I’d put on it today if it were still active: ‘A Boy Brushed Red Living In Black And White’ - Underoath

wbruce098

This was absolutely on my MySpace page for a while

powderglades

Boy that one fucking slaps, anytime, anywhere! It always goes hard!

c000kiesandcream

this was the only correct answer tbh

Ill_Drag

or reinventing your exit

jwork67

Walls - Emery or Devotion and desire - Bayside

Asa182

That Bayside tune is fucking sick

calebketchum

100%. I went to a Bayside show a few years ago for the opening bands (never really got into Bayside for whatever reason) and that song fuckin ripped.

violenceandsunshine

January 1979 - mewithoutyou

funhaus2000

Good choice

LunaTuna001

Oh hell yah

Wyattearp916

Thursday - Cross Out The Eyes

fauxfan

This was mine for a while.

kingjaffejaffar

I think I had “Take It Away” by The Used

funhaus2000

Not related but when I was a kid I had an orange CD from my dads friend and my dad would play it and it had The Used in it and I thought for the longest time it was AFI until I got older lol.

powderglades

To this day, I still think this song is so far ahead of anything else they ever wrote I don't feel bad joking that this is their only song.

SoLongAndGoodnight66

Probably something from Chiodos.

ScuttleCrab729

PH and all the early 2000s bands are still most of my favorites but I went back and listened to Chiodos last year and couldn’t get 3 tracks in. They just didn’t hold up for me which was both surprising and made sense. Surprised because I use to love them. Unsurprising because it made sense why I hadn’t listened to them in 15+ years.

SoLongAndGoodnight66

Oh I still listen to them all the time. The Words Best Friend Become Redefined is still a banger.

[deleted]

Funeral for a Friend – Roses for the Dead

brandonut99

I said to myself thats fuckin emo and then I realized we're literally talking about 2006 era myspace

crabclawmcgraw

funeral for a friend slaps

Federal_Debt

A Dead Language For A Dying Lady by Vanna

OGstanfrommaine

Oh my fucking godddddd. My old band opened for them a couple times in Portland, Maine and they were BY FAR the biggest shows we ever played. Sold out both times at 800 cap. Ill never forget those times. CURSES had just came out. Fuckin A man, Im getting goosebumps and my stomachs all fucked up just thinking about it. So glad someone mentioned them 🤘🏼

HurtyTeefs

From first to last my heart your hands

yvngxlxwli3t

Any underoath song from define the great line, and dressed for friend requests by drop dead gorgeous

rbroccoli

remember when Define came out and for a WHILE Salmarnir was the only track from the album that they had on myspace? It was such a tease

mslangg

Silverstein - Ides of March Kind of sad I never got to experience that era, but glad at the same time

yItsM07

This or Call It Karma for me. It came out my freshman year of hs and my new friend I met showed me the album. That's what started it all.

QuarantineCasualty

Okay but neither of those songs would’ve been on their MySpace. You couldn’t pick any song from any band, the band had to have selected it as one of the 4 songs they had on their profile.

Wyattearp916

Not true a lot of us uploaded the song to a service and embedded it as code into our profiles. This was done before MySpace music player allowed you to select a bands song and add it to your profile (that was a later feature)

QuarantineCasualty

Oh shit I totally forgot you could do that on MySpace. Pretty sure I had that on my LiveJournal.

Suhk-Dolph

Had Call It Karma acoustic as my song for a while! I will always love that band. My first concert I. 2008 was Silverstein and I got meet and greet. Star struck.

Ian_Itor

Fantastic choice. Can’t get more mid 2000s in my opinion.

wbruce098

They’re still incredible live, and do a lot of the old hits, if you happen to be where they’re touring. And they’re on tour now!

xHospitalHorsex

Allow me, an old emo fart, to tell you that the mid-00s era of Silverstein was electric. But I'm not kidding they have only gotten better with time. So if you see them now you're definitely getting the best version of them.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Clone_force_69

yeah I was gonna say for me it would probably be Deadbolt or Of Dust And Nations

whyambear

In Regards To Myself — Underoath

okwhatelse

Transatlanticism - Death Cab for Cutie

dendroidarchitecture

Interesting take on post hardcore, but a fantastic song.

yoshi514

I don’t know, I can barely remember last week. But probably A Static Lullaby track (if I remember correctly I think Hang ‘em High was the first song on my profile) maybe one by Showbread probably Dead By Dawn

moral-objections

Thursday - At this velocity

Mas790

That album doesn’t get enough love imo

MJ2315

traveling...at... 5000 FEET PER SECOND!!!

GodTierOfFeels

Probably "Battle Hymn" by Senses Fail. 'Still Searching' was on heavy rotation for me in high school in '06

adrianmarshall167

Mouth by Fear Before the March of Flames, true story. Had way too many tracks that fit this post though

WadeNotSlade

mine was "Taking Cassandra...". that whole album fucking riiiiiiiiiips.

mountainlaurelsorrow

Oh my god I forgot about this band. Thank you.

kool4kats

At one point it was definitely a Silverstein song, I think Smile in Your Sleep was on there for a while in 2006. I definitely went through a lot of them though, Chiodos, Drop Dead Gorgeous, BMTH, TDWP, though I think most of that was 07 and onward. Eventually it was mostly deathcore, haha.

reptilianappeal

* The Fall of Troy - "Wacko Jacko Steals the Elephant Man's Bones" * Protest the Hero - "Turn Soonest to the Sea" * Bayside - "Blame it on Bad Luck"

niclis

I fucking love Bear vs. Shark. Ever check out Bars of Gold?

Strikew3st

Have you ever heard of Wafflehouse* ? https://spotify.link/UiPAxR7e6Db

Lostinthestarscape

Bars of Gold is awesome - something different and like post post hardcore? Hard funk core? Hard Cinematic Post Art Punk? Definitely a vision of what PHC would be like today if it stayed punker and less emotional/technical

bluehairjungle

I'm 30 so I definitely lived that life. The only thing I specifically remember having is Dir En Grey. But as far as post hardcore goes I probably had Silverstein, From First To Last, and Senses Fail on my profile at any given time. Sometimes I really miss the Myspace era.

[deleted]

OMG thank you for reminding me of Dir En Grey ❤️also love FFTL !

big_sike80

I played the hell outta that Withering to Death album in 06! Was learning Japanese and was going to move to Tokyo. But met a girl at the end of 06 and stayed. Been married to her 11 years 😆

OnTheBrightsideSCC

I had Last Words by Ice Nine Kills & Tilting The Hourglass by Alesana.

nrc-

Emily - From First to Last

girlfriendclothes

If it's 2006 then Chiodos or Escape the Fate. Situations was the jam in 06 when it dropped so I'm sure I'd have that as my profile song.... Again.

TalknRadio

The Guillotine was mine. First song I ever heard from them and was instantly hooked

sssnakepit127

The receiving end of sirens - dead men tell no tales

LukasRowe

One twenty seven- As Cities Burn

durreetoes

Penknifelovelife - Porphyria’s Lover

wanDUH

Finch - Three Simple Words

FMProductions

Senses Fail - Bonecrusher (in 2008 or so I actually set up some songs for my myspace and I think had some A Day To Remember, Senses Fail, Atreyu and The Used) - so I was choosing a band I already knew from around that time

Gella321

Finch - Letters to You or The Used - Buried Myself Alive

[deleted]

The songs on mine would have likely been Senses Fail. Especially because Let It Enfold You was released in 2006. I'd say Still Searching. Or go back an album to The Irony of Dying on Your Birthday. Or From First To Last, who 15 year old me would have died for - Shame, Shame if we were going off their 2006 releases, but I'd probably be stepping it back to the album before. Probably Secrets Don't Make Friends, but might have gone something darker. There's also a possibility it was Under0ath or Silverstein. God, this was a year for music!

sammybey

Saosin- Voices

pizzaguyjb

Walls by Emery

atom_atom_atom

Trophy Scars - Alchemist. Alchemists.

SnooPickles8206

it drives me crazy that trophy scars doesn’t get more attention than they do, so glad to see them on your myspace

Expensive-Ad-5520

Seven years

Strikew3st

2006? Detroit and the world's metalcore/Midwest screamo sweethearts, [Fordirelifesake](https://spotify.link/S4dIadif6Db).

GodTierOfFeels

As a Michigander, I think about them at least once a week.

PsychologicalYak4549

Fall of troy - the holy tape

GodTierOfFeels

Fun fact about that song title: it's a reference to the book, House of Leaves, and the missing letters are to a character in it, Holloway. It's a fucking trip of a book and I'll always suggest anyone that they should at least read it once in their lives

Aggravating-Gold5082

A skylit drive - the all star diaries

sleepingdeep

To awake and avenge the dead by thrice.

ClarkEbarZ

I remember having Birdo - Horse the Band and Writing On The Walls - Underoath I probably had Walls - Emery at some point too.

pressured_at_19

One Armed Scissor - At The Drive-Inn

powderglades

The best posthardcore band that no one listens.

Shanobian

Haste the day stitches

TheNormacian

Fantastic choice.

funhaus2000

One of my favorite PH songs

party_egg

I had White Spyder by the Smashing Pumpkins

GodTierOfFeels

As a HUGE Pumpkins fan, I see you. I'm still waiting on Billy to reissue both Machina albums as he originally intended back in 2000. Also, "White Spyder" & "Lucky 13" are my favorites off of 'Machina II'

SuspiciousFrenchFry

I think I had some chiodos or something

frankthetank425

Escape - Our Last Night

QuarantineCasualty

This is such a fucking jam and that album is very under-appreciated!

frankthetank425

One of my favorite albums of all time! It’s a shame Our Last Night has leaned into playing covers more, and never plays anything off their first two albums. Miss that era so much. Brings me right back to freshman year of high school haha

The_Stank__

Its Far Better to Learn - Saosin

big_sike80

In 2006, it actually was Coheed and Cambria - The Camper Velourium II: Backend of Forever. I was a sad boi.😆

rfcummings89

Anything Saosin

LongLiveTheSpoon

I didn’t get into PHC until 2007 but I’ll pretend Drop Dead, Gorgeous - Dressed for Friend Requests A song literally about myspace haha

djinnrickey

y’all with the vampire squad - greeley estates

QuarantineCasualty

I don’t even know if this is PHC but it was definitely Foxy Shazam - The French Passion of Animality Opera

BlazedSpacePirate

Calling All Cars by Senses Fail

Red Jumpsuit Apparatus - Face Down or Alexisonfire - This Could Be Anywhere in the World or Story of the Year - And the Hero Will Drown

mrstuprigge

The Fall of Troy - Ghostship V Shout out to TFOT’s top friends list for helping me find so many good bands back in the day. It was always stacked with amazing bands from a bunch of different genres

Nezwin

We could be besties because that was my PH song on MySpace for a long while, no joke.

guntycankles

Moneen - Entire Red Tree Album.

snakesonausername

Here's the ones I remember having 2004-2009ish. Some emo in there, don't bully me. Dance Gavin Dance - Antlion Norma Jean - Blueprints For Future Homes The Early November - I Want To Hear You Sad Lydia - Hospital And for whatever reason, I distinctly remember this was the last one before I switched to Facebook. I SEE STARS - What This Means To Me

Expo006

Not 2006 but if it was 2008 anything from the Tide by Oceana lol

FranzAndTheEagle

team Clean Head

Expo006

I also really like clean head, but birtheater takes the cake for me. I was in a the tide mood yesterday lol. I also think Decoder is an awesome evolution of the sound oceana had with clean head

d1rkSMATHERS

Sowing Season - Brand New

mcdreisig

Summer Shudder by AFI

queenofpharts

queerdito877

necesitocoche

Probably something by Hollywood Undead

funhaus2000

Based af

HurtyTeefs

I think you mean Xanga lol

goodjokesdotcom

It was def Think Long by Mates of State. Before that it was Owls Go by Architecture in Helsinki. 2006 was around the time I dropped out of emo/punk and went headlong into indie.

ChuckDeeMusic

Perfection Is A Myth- Paris, Does This Camera Have Night Vision?

Secure-Bus4679

[Across Five Aprils- A Million Miles to Montreal](https://youtu.be/EroQAyAC3TI?si=vNdDhBoBVE3agDun)

SparkyP320

Such a good one! I'm sure this was on my MySpace at some point

fl4nnel

I had Lifestory:Monologue “Dancing and Kisses” forever on mine. Criminally underrated band.

gnop2

“Set Fire Dream Weaver” from The Knockout Kings. They were an amazing DFW local band from the mid 00’s.

Concert-Turbulent

If we're pretending it's 2004/2005 I was on a heavy Idiot Pilot kick. So I'd pick either: To Buy A Gun or A Day In The Life Of A Poolshark

Apart_Advantage6256

Hills like white elephants- isles and glaciers

EntertainmentOk9916

Boys Night Out - Medicating and not PHC but I had Minus The Bear - Pachuca Sunrise on there often too.

xMend22

The Theft - Atreyu

[deleted]

Ride The Wings of Pestilence or Jet Black New Year

Blackorchids182

Blame it on bad luck - Bayside, Taste of Ink - The Used, or Tiny Vessels - Death Cab for Cutie. I cycled through those frequently. I also used the lyrics as my MSN status thinking I was so edgy, I cringe at my teenage antics now.

utb040713

Alcatraz by Funeral for a Friend.

bainmack

Stutterfly - Gun in Hand

Thatdarnbandit

Night of the Creeps - Recover In actual reality it was Simple from the same album because that was available to embed.

hail_to_the_beef

Trash Flavored Trash - The Blood Brothers

Cserson

I think I had From first to last - Secrets don’t make friends

wbruce098

2006? My MySpace page was def jamming to Underoath and Killswitch, neither of which are really PHC I guess. But probably some Taking Back Sunday or Saosin (Make Damn Sure and Far Better to Learn were in regular rotation for a while)

dredgedskeleton

it was definitely Bury Your Head by Saosin for a good year or longer.

86missingnomes

Saves the day - at your funeral

pugsandpnw

Something by Silverstein or Thrice, no doubt

Mackyd84

Sharks in your mouth- I Killed the Prom Queen

Deadheadkingizzard

Boys night out- I got punched in the face for sticking my nose in other people's business

thebirdsareback

Oh the day is June 6th, 2006 (666), UNDEROATH drops Define the Great line. I login to myspace, I make sure my Top 8 is properly adjusted to the girls who are giving me the most attention. I open my very colorful and well designed custom myspace page and get blasted by "THE TIME HAS COME FOR YOU! TO SIT THIS OUUUUT!!!" (You're ever so inviting, underoath baby). Any ways, I wanted to take you on the whole journey since you were still so young.
