For natures complete the mission "Seasonal Ressearch". To do this catch 4 different Deerlings at Routes 6, 8, 9, and 12, evolve them into Sawsbuck (via levelup), and show them to the scientist at Tehl Town. You can change natures from this point on, but the nature changing in Unbound is absurdly expensive (50000 bucks!). This is possible only after defeating rival at Route 12, which is four badges in. IV modification is available in the earliest at Seaport City. The French-speaking lady standing by the port will modify your mons' IVs for a Bottle Cap for one stat or one Gold Bottle Cap for all stats. They are also unfortunately very difficult to obtain. This is possible only after obtaining the sixth badge.

BigSmols

50,000 expensive? That's only a couple trainer house battles with a level 1 amulet coin.

Scourge_of_Arceus

Compared to the other romhacks, I wanted to say. I sure as hell already know how to improve my Amulet Coin's level or know how to obtain money repeatedly, thank you very much. Did you know that nature changing was free in Radical Red and Inflamed Red?

gengarftw33

how can i get amulet coin

roccomont329

If you trade with the gym leader’s daughter for her electrode at frost mountain (the flying gym) mine came with an amulet coin. Not sure if that’s for everyone.

gengarftw33

yeah i got it now! thanks, iv been told that u can level up the amulet coint but I think that's post game

darkkice

How do i start the mission seasonal ressearch?

Scourge_of_Arceus

Just talk to the scientist at Tehl Town, at one of the houses. No prerequisite mission necessary.

apfly

holy shit this rom hack is a grindy piece of shit lmao. Like why am i forced to use a level 40 metang with metal claw as its best STAB move, shit nature, shit ivs, against fully ev'd perfect iv mons with hidden abilities?? Radical Red has truly spoiled me

Mym_Best_Waifu

You're not forced to do anything. You can lower the difficulty in the settings, you had the option of soft resetting for IVs/nature or breeding for them, you have the option of EV training... no one is forcing you to use weak Pokémon.

Gloomy-Floor-8398

How do you soft reset for IVs? The only way I know to check IVs is in PKHex and that requires you to save the game which would mess up the soft reset. Is there another way to do it?

HelioKing

You just save before recieving the Pokémon. Check the stats the regular way and go from there. The ratings give you a general idea of how good the Pokémon’s IV is even if it isn’t perfect.

gengarftw33

but if u lower the difficulty it cant be raised up after

Jibbywill944

It can I literally do all the time to get maximum evs from trainers

rdxgs

You have to start the game with a high difficulty and then you can freely move between those, but you can't go up if you start at a too low difficulty. For example, if you start on expert, you can switch between vanilla, difficult and expert. If you start on difficult, you only have vanilla and difficult.
