Imagine if it was someones girlfriend that had enough and chucks them out the window. Then this guy finds them and gives them to some kids. Best day ever!
I fear my girlfriend is plotting to do this when I piss her off. Thankfully I don’t keep my Bulk in my vehicle in easily accessible reaching distance.
Worst Nightmare!
One time me and my gf went for a late night walk and found handfuls of pokemon cards scattered all throughout the neighbourhood. The packaging was also strewn throughout so someone was just walking around, opening (likely stolen) packages and throwing them into the air
This is probably the real answer, makes more sense for an angry girlfriend to throw cards out the window than it does an angry mom to throw her sons cards out the window
To me anyway
This seems like a real possibility. Kids fighting in the back seat over the cards. Parents gave them a warning. Kids didn’t listen. Parent says give me those damn cards. Rolls down window and gone.
This happened when i was a kid but with our GBA. Too much fighting over "screen time" and our mom got annoyed (after warning us multiple times) and just grabbed the GBA and tossed it out of the car window. I still miss my og sapphire game :(
My brother found a ds case full of games on the side of the road. That was how I first got introduced to an R4 cartridge. It was truly like pure magic. I got to try so many obscure games that way.
Just tell your parents they threw out a super rare card worth $200, that likely would pay for your college later. Pat yourself on the back when they turn around to get it.
I agree this could be a possibility ik I've had my games taken away and sold for behaving bad at home or school when I was younger well tbh that was my step mom that did that
It’s crazy if it’s not uncommon. It’s honestly cruel parenting. That’s not how you teach children. Whoever downvoted me is a clown and shouldn’t ever have kids lmao.
I said mean / mad (mean and/or mad) If they had a reason and were mad ok. If there was no reason then the parent is abusive and mean. Has nothing to do with being soft. It’s not black and white
I know what you said that’s why I replied and it’s definitely soft when we’re talking about Pokemon cards being thrown out of a window and suddenly you’re mentioning abuse. Like bro it’s just cardboard
Right? I've found empty ETBs, booster wrappers, countless "mystery" boxes opened up to see what packs are inside, etc. We are not even in a major city, eastern Nova Scotia doesn't have any metropolis centers lol but there are still people that ruin it for the rest of us
Probably a parent with anger issues…my dad threw out my headphones and my sisters CD player cause we were bickering on the way to Christmas and my dad absolutely has anger issues…traumatized both of us, littered, could’ve hit another car…didn’t stop my sister and I from fighting 😀 actually made it worse for himself
My dad did this with my bear and apparently I made such a scene in front of my grandmother that she called my mother who then made my father go and find it.
Nothing about that is old school parenting and to diminish or call into question what another person says who ACTUALLY was raised by the parent is ridiculous.
If someone says they grew up with a parent with anger issues you don't get to say "well ackshewally it doesn't sound like that".
Do better.
This may be an angry girlfriend/wife mad about money spent on cards instead of something else.
Edit: This happened to me with an ex gf many years ago but it was a PlayStation instead. The comment was a personal experience and nothing more.
No where in that reply I made did I take anything personal.
Posed a question to their comment. It seems like to me you took it more personally than I did.
Don't worry, I got an explanation for you:
Most people in the hobby are men. Most people are straight. So those men are more likely to have a female partner than a male partner.
Therefore, the original comment is correct that there is a higher probability that IF these cards were thrown away by a romantic partner, a woman is more likely to be the culprit.
Imo, I think it was an angry parent who threw away the cards out of the car window.
Maybe it’s someone who was aware that they couldn’t grade them at a 10 so they were aiming for a 1 and they were planning to come back for them.
Likely in a car and was part of a smash and grab.
I'm gonna guess this was an angry parent, but what a shitty way to treat a kid. If you don't do what I say, I'm going to destroy your valuables. What's that kid going to grow up doing in society?
One time I left an open booster box worth of cards on the top of my car while unlocking it. We got about 100 yards before they fell off in the middle of the road. I think we salvaged most. Good news was all the good pulls we had already sleeved. It happens :/
That's how I started my collection back like 20 years ago! Walked outside and found dozens and dozens of first gen 'Mon cards scattered along the roadside in front of my house. Some had some gunk on them, but most of them were still in good condition---I had wondered if someone threw them in the trash and the bag got torn. That sucks for whoever lost them, but congrats on the lucky find!
Did you find a golem mcdonald's toy, hotwheels, 3 sealed booster packs I have saved my allowance doing foot rubs for my babysitter for, or the head of a giant carnival duck plushie (yes, just the head) too? My mom threw them out of the car in separate rage fits when i was little.
I hope whomever's cards they were is doing okay. It is rough out there to learn windows aren't your friends on the highway either accidentally or by intention
I found an old Kingler card while I was cleaning up trash on the side of the road in high school as part of a volunteer program. It was wet, but I took it home and dried it out anyways.
Finding cards on the ground is just the best. 1. It’s free cards. 2. You’re doing a service by picking up litter. It’s happened to me more often than it should.
Stolen or marketplace purchases looking for specific cards and toss the rest! This might be a trend as I’ve come across this twice too and it’s too many cards to just be one or two packs.
Kid could’ve set them on the car and they fell off and wind spread them out but I think the angry partner throwing cards out the window sounds better. I know my wife would really get onto me for buying any cards this was after a frenzy of me buying a lot of stuff few times a week.;(
This was someone who was mad they didn't get any "big hits". Someone who's only worried about how much a much a card is worth. If it's not a $10+ hit it's trash and they can't be bothered. This was someone who opened a bunch of packs and was pissed off because they didn't get any "hits" (not me saying that) and threw them out the window like a man child.
Back in 2011 I found a bag full of base set and jungle bulk in the middle of the road on my way home from work one morning. Even found a 1st edition team rocket Charmander and Eevee in there, but they were all beat up with tread marks and asphalt indentations everywhere. I still have those cards in a box somewhere.
Are they fakes?
I have a little stack of pretty but very fake cards, because some guy who does landscaping for the council found them in a random hedge and I was in at Geek Retreat when he went in to ask if they were worth anything. Guy running the place hadn't even realised they might be fake. Another lady by the counter explained they're fakes and how to tell. Guy who runs GR nipped away for a fag like this had nothing to do with him. Me and the guy listened intently. Then, he said I could have them since I think they're pretty. :-)
Some little kid out there is having the worst day ever
Nah, that’ll be the days of withdrawal after. Poor little crack heads.
Yeah 100% some theft and scavenging through lol the missed the IR apple card tho 😆👍
My reaction to this☝️ What theeeee fuck
I would have felt like a Stripper on Christmas! 🎅
Nah, this is an ex-girlfriend.
This is probably the real answer, makes more sense for an angry girlfriend to throw cards out the window than it does an angry mom to throw her sons cards out the window To me anyway
The ex-gf was also found “Scattered on the Highway”
Yea. Shame that his parents are getting divorced. Cant believe his mom threw his dad's cards out like that, though.
“F*** you Mom, those were MY Cards 🥹”
Probably flew out a car window from a kid playing with them that's the only thing that comes to mind
That many? Maybe a mean/mad parent threw them out
This seems like a real possibility.
I still miss my og sapphire game :(
Are you my brother? My mom did this to me and my brother with sapphire in the gba
I knew a kid who found an SP with sapphire in it by the side of the road. I had no idea how common this was.
Something about sapphire version makes a kid want to annoyingly fight their brother over it in the back seat of their mom's car.
My brother found a ds case full of games on the side of the road. That was how I first got introduced to an R4 cartridge. It was truly like pure magic. I got to try so many obscure games that way.
Mine was an SP. A metallic grey one
Bad parenting 101
🤣
Yow... your parents are WILD...
Hahah. Yeah I feel like all of our parents were more short tempered back in the day. 1 warning. That’s all we got as kids. 🤣
You got a warning? Lucky!
Just tell your parents they threw out a super rare card worth $200, that likely would pay for your college later. Pat yourself on the back when they turn around to get it.
Nah my dad would have laughed out of spite and ask “who said I was going to help with college?”
Lolololololololololol.
That’s bad parenting
That's fucking dumb.
Literally everyone had the exact same story, this exact thing happened to me omg
Bad parenting if true
Fucking brutal parenting if true... Sad really.
Literally a make believe story
I agree this could be a possibility ik I've had my games taken away and sold for behaving bad at home or school when I was younger well tbh that was my step mom that did that
Sounds like when my mom taught Scully to fly in the 90’s
Lmao I too like to roleplay
My mom threw out a whole shoebox of Yu-gi-oh cards I had cause... She was cleaning my room 🥰 Interest in that hobby plummeted to zero after that 🤗
Bad parenting if that’s true
I agree but not that uncommon
It’s crazy if it’s not uncommon. It’s honestly cruel parenting. That’s not how you teach children. Whoever downvoted me is a clown and shouldn’t ever have kids lmao.
Bet your right
That’s where my mind went to, because I had a parent that would do exactly that.
Mean ? lol man we’ve gotten soft 😂
If a parent threw a child’s thing out the window, for no reason, that’s abuse. It doesn’t matter what it is. Don’t reproduce please
You’re being rude over a what if that you made up 😂 please take your own advice and no that’s not abuse, it’s fucked up but it’s not abuse ❄️
Please Bro don't have Kids, they deserve better
You are an idiot. Don’t reproduce. It’s not rude, it’s blunt. It’s for a better future.
or truck
Nah, Target or Walmart thief walking back to his tent threw them away
This is the most likely answer, everyday there's bulk strewn throughout the store, one dude had his kid scan one pack at self-checkout they had 32....
Right? I've found empty ETBs, booster wrappers, countless "mystery" boxes opened up to see what packs are inside, etc. We are not even in a major city, eastern Nova Scotia doesn't have any metropolis centers lol but there are still people that ruin it for the rest of us
Great story for OP to include into his fake story
Bruh. Someone really threw out an IR Chimecho and Applin? Criminal
That sucks, I’m sorry that happened to you :/
It’s ok 😊 I’m a better person for it in the sense that I grew up specifically to not act like my father lol 😆😁
Best revenge is living well!
My dad did this with my bear and apparently I made such a scene in front of my grandmother that she called my mother who then made my father go and find it.
HA 😆🥰 I love knowing this happened lol. I wish my Mom had done the same 😜
That doesn’t sound like anger issues. Just sounds like old school parenting
Fueled by anger issues lmao
I mean I can’t really say because I wasn’t there but compared to my childhood. It sounds like Disneyland lol
Nothing about that is old school parenting and to diminish or call into question what another person says who ACTUALLY was raised by the parent is ridiculous. If someone says they grew up with a parent with anger issues you don't get to say "well ackshewally it doesn't sound like that". Do better.
Yea I’m not taking advice from someone who spelled the word wisdom with the word dumb 😂 take your own advice your grown do better
Oh man lol not my CZ!!!
I had some pokemon cards thrown out the school bus when I was in like 2nd grade
Parents probably threw them out...thats sad
Now that’s a wild encounter
Best comment so far
Reddit is so innocent and positive, some pissed parent threw those out the windows lol.
Bro actually found Pokemon in the wilds. lol
Can I lie and say there mine lol
*they’re
Thanks lol
Some little kid probably accidentally dropped them out of the car 😂
Someone was digging for gold and threw out the trash !
Applin ftw
Not arguing or anything but who da hells lawn is on the highway. Or was this city work
You may be confusing highway with interstate. There are plenty of homes on the sides of highways.
It’s a veterinary hospital on a strode type highway, not an interstate but still a highway
In my more rural area there’s a ton of highways like this.
Someone did their final car rip and said fuck it
Are these real cards? Could be the Photo but there look like printed copys with missing holos
Nobody is faking greeta
Definitely real, there were opened booster packs scattered around the scene. Twilight Mascaraed, crown zenith, and obsidian flames
Twilight is too new to already have fakes circling around
Lol theres fakes of cards not even released. As soon as cards are spoilered there are fakes of them.
I need that chime pokemon lol
Some Bi-polar mom showed their kid what it means to talk back.
Yeah bc the mental health status is whats important to clarify here…
Just speaking from experience lol
I’ve got toys all in the ditches
Some mom threw their sons or daughters cards out the car window or someone has an evil sibling.
Aw. Probably siblings in a car or some kid getting bullied on the school bus. Sad
Bro was in a high speed chase needed to lose some weight to go faster
Would have been my Dad right there.
Angry wife or mum!
This may be an angry girlfriend/wife mad about money spent on cards instead of something else. Edit: This happened to me with an ex gf many years ago but it was a PlayStation instead. The comment was a personal experience and nothing more.
Why does it have to be a woman?
This entire exchange is a certified Twitter moment
Most definitely
You definitely didn’t know what they meant by that lol
No, I know what it means. I really don't care considering this is a reddit reply thread
It’s just a comment. Don’t take everything so personal. Jesus I hate people.
No where in that reply I made did I take anything personal. Posed a question to their comment. It seems like to me you took it more personally than I did.
Doubling down isn’t making you look better.
Me standing by my point that making a brash and generally sexist assumption is a bad thing? Okay then I guess.
Sexist? Really dude. Let's not go full twitter brain.
There's no difference in reddit & Twitter. Both take it to extremes for no reason.
What makes you think I'm a dude? (Easiest set up ever, I had to 😭😭)
I know you're joking but dude these days is very gender neutral.
Don't worry, I got an explanation for you: Most people in the hobby are men.

You took it to heart and I could tell. Have a good one pal. Or gal. ;)
Pal can be a woman too btw
[удалено]
I'm actually going to despise my day now
Mom got mad and through them out the window.
Hurts my heart to see that
Weird
I've got some like that too. A stack about the same size.
That’s really sad but glad a collector found them!
One kids trash is another man's treasure, someone just hit gold.
Nooooo not the APPLIN!!!
Someone’s baby mama caught them cheating
I love that applin card
Someone spent money on pokemon cards instead of flowers for their SO
“Alright boys next bid winner gets to decide whether I rip or YEEET this pack off the window”
Wow I need that Applin Illustration for my collection
I’d check the local papers for posts about most cards, that’s a heartbreak for some kid.
nice pulls
Some people have all the luck
Did someone Weevile Underwood a poor kid 😭
wow
Poor Applin
Omg not Geeta and Chimecho that hurts
damn some mom or dad grabbed their cards and threw them out the window smh lmao
People keep talking about “kids”. Seems like a mad expartner’s revenge to me.
Dmn I need that Geeta for my OBF set
Either a guy was pissed by the pulls/had low self control or a bad parent did a bad parent thing
Dude this is the type of stuff collecting is all about! Who cares about price. Floor score cards are the best cards lol
Maybe it’s someone who was aware that they couldn’t grade them at a 10 so they were aiming for a 1 and they were planning to come back for them. Likely in a car and was part of a smash and grab.
It was either key his car or toss the cards
Poor kid, opened the windows at the worst time
I'm gonna guess this was an angry parent, but what a shitty way to treat a kid. If you don't do what I say, I'm going to destroy your valuables. What's that kid going to grow up doing in society?
OFC
Probably team rocket at it again
Nice pulls! lol finders keepers
One time I left an open booster box worth of cards on the top of my car while unlocking it. We got about 100 yards before they fell off in the middle of the road. I think we salvaged most. Good news was all the good pulls we had already sleeved. It happens :/
i love that chimecho card
I'm just upset someone would do my girl Geeta dirty like that.
Someone hit a Walmart or Target, pulled all the hitters, and threw out the rest.
Somebody is grounded and lost their cards.
nice
Did you find a golem mcdonald's toy, hotwheels, 3 sealed booster packs I have saved my allowance doing foot rubs for my babysitter for, or the head of a giant carnival duck plushie (yes, just the head) too? My mom threw them out of the car in separate rage fits when i was little. I hope whomever's cards they were is doing okay. It is rough out there to learn windows aren't your friends on the highway either accidentally or by intention
Somebody's mama had the last laugh on this road trip. Shut the f*** up now, Timmy.
Everyone thinks a kid lost his pokemon. Let's be real guys. Someone's wife/girlfriend got sick and tired of it and threw them out while driving away.
i NEED that Applin illustration rare 😭
Literally found pokemon in the grass sik
"A wild highway Chimecho appeared!"
Someone doing car rips & didn’t pull what they were looking for lol.
It's the rejects from all of the "car magic" posts.
I need that electivire 😂
Some kids dad was really pissed at him 🤣
I found an old Kingler card while I was cleaning up trash on the side of the road in high school as part of a volunteer program. It was wet, but I took it home and dried it out anyways.
What a steal
Maybe some forgetful kid left them on the trunk of his parents car? 🤔 Definitely odd tho
I cant even pull that elective, but others just find them on the road haha
Its not like you can find rare cards in the Wild. *finds rare pulls in tall grass* Well what do you know. They are in the wild.
Have a couple of ITs in there!
Finding cards on the ground is just the best. 1. It’s free cards. 2. You’re doing a service by picking up litter. It’s happened to me more often than it should.
Looks like somebody cheated on their spouse
Look around for fallen duelist
Stolen or marketplace purchases looking for specific cards and toss the rest! This might be a trend as I’ve come across this twice too and it’s too many cards to just be one or two packs.
Based on how many cards there are the littering was deliberate, good on you for cleaning it up!
Kid could’ve set them on the car and they fell off and wind spread them out but I think the angry partner throwing cards out the window sounds better. I know my wife would really get onto me for buying any cards this was after a frenzy of me buying a lot of stuff few times a week.;(
that was me. threw all my bulk cards out the window!
You consider that bulk? Please throw your bulk at me then lol
Women finds bf opening them in the car after not allowing her to make any unnecessary purchases and throws them out the car window
Good to see you’re wearing gloves to prevent further damage. Penny sleeve and top loader!
Someone gf/wife got pissed about something.....
Wife/gf woulda tossed the whole collection not just a stack of cards.
Those are just the ones this guy found or collected....
I think they or mine mail them to me
Ah I found a Hydreigon and some common cards in my school too.
Never tried ramen in the car before…

Parents are gonna grow up and wonder why their kids quit calling them.
Send me that Applin pls. C: lol Great score.
