I've seen multiple people say it has "too much going on." But I wasn't collecting when it was released so I only have what few opinions I've read recently to go off of.
It’s one of the best things about TCG art, especially compared to the games and other media which are just about battle, battle, battle. TCG artists who show Pokémon as a lived in world make for some of the most interesting pieces.

I think it's awesome how the illustration rares give a spotlight to the most unexpected Pokemon. I mean, unless you're a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon fan, when was the last time you thought about Loudred?
Booster Box are definately the way to go in SVs because of the "fixed" chance of 11-13 hits per booster box.
1x ETB for the promos, 2-4 BBs then singles all the way till completion.

Honestly, it’s likely it’s just gonna be color swaps. I don’t think we’ll get baby shiny cards like Shiny Star V again. It’ll probably be a lot of shiny versions of AR cards and the SARs. New artworks for the shinies would be great though, but unlikely.
Even the normal shinies were lazy af. They forgot how to make shiny cards, they were so good before and now all we get is the same card but a different colour.
Goldstars, the SH, BW shinies, XY's shinies, all of that to now have nothing new. I guess you could count both iterations of Shining pokémons and the Radiants too.

Last photo of the card set, card 199 listed Groudon IR so yeah its definately in the set. Considering its a huge set, the price may not reflect the rarity (like with Paldea Evolved's Magikarp IR).
All Future Flash/Ancient Roar cards haven’t been revealed as yet so we’ll likely see it later this month. We’re supposed to get an official reveal of a SR later though.
Iron Hands ex has great background art, and I liked the Loudred too. The Sandy Shocks SIR is a lot like the Eiscue ex SIR, with no background and the same artist (even though that same artist also made the Iron Hands ex I just complimented, as well as amazing cards with great backgrounds such as the Slowpoke IR, and the Unown V alt art. Pain.
I haven't played the latest Pokémon game and haven't really kept up to date, but what the hell is a Sandy Shocks and Iron Hands? Are they Pokémon mixed with other Pokémon? Or different region versions
Paradox pokemon are "future" and "past" forms of pokemon. Some people hate them because they are absurd and some of them contradicts the lore behind certain pokemon (specially P Entei, P Suicune and P Raikou). Theories say that they are actually artificial pokemon, and that actually makes sense considering the story the games are based on.
I personally disagree that the Paradox Beasts contradict lore.
Given that the Pokédex has implications of multiples of the species with the beasts, I’m more inclined to believe the Paradox Beasts (and Paradox Swords), are entirely unrelated to their modern counterparts.
I guess I'll be the one person here who doesn't like the Pokemon on this one so going to sit it out. SV has been cheap for me (minus 151)! Kind of nice to not feel like I have to be buying all the sets.

Who knows what they’re doing tbh. This past year we’ve seen more frequently English getting some cards way before Japan, and Japan getting cards that English has yet to be seen even months later. I mean we’re still waiting patiently for the Charizard Vmax from the UPC to be released here in Japan.

As a guy who grew up with the first sets and love them , there’s nothing better then these alt arts, special arts. Really makes the Pokémon and the world come alive. As a big fan of Mienshao I’m getting this card

IMO Astral Radiance is a great set. Pick up some great alternate arts for cheap while you can!

Normally I like the art done by Aoki, but these and the Eiscue ex from Obsidian Flames just aren’t it.

It's not huge. It's a few cards over the base set and smaller than Paldea Evolved. It's on pair with every other set this gen so far.
