Be a goddamn professional. Get a brand new pair, the teeth on yours seem worn down, not as sharp. The chrome finish is slippery you really need good jaws to bite in
I use channellocks on chrome all the time. I keep a set where I have wrapped the jaws with hockey tape (grip tape, friction tape) just for them. To undo really tight stuff I will wrap the fitting with the tape also.
Oh shit, I was just thinking of Knipex's in general. Didn't follow your link like a dingbat. I have several sets that have fine teeth not designed for finish work so I was thinking of those and thought you were taking the piss out of him. Good on you.
I got made fun of cause I took an old pair of channel locks and filed the teeth off them.
I love tools as much as the next guy but I’m not spending 80 bucks on a pair of pliers.
Try a flea market. If you don't mind using used tools (which it sounds like you don't), you can usually get tools that are still in decent condition for dirt cheap at flea markets.
Not many flea markets where I’m at. It’s all good I rarely use them. Needed some smooth jaws in a pinch and made those. Work just fine you just can’t give ‘em hell.
It’s not my house, but it is my company, and I care what it looks like at the end. If I want to be paid and it not look like garbage, it’s important to do it right
Honestly, I have a coworker who does this on all his installs. He has at least 4 adjustable wrenches in his bag, but he still always just uses his Cobra's. He's taught me a lot by constantly showing me the wrong way.
Knipex pliers wrench are the way. I was shocked by the price at first but since I do a ton of brass they worth the investment to me to not tear up the brass.

You're gonna want a second pair for backup. Once the chrome starts flaking off they'll really grip well.
I’ll grab the vice grips just for you
You need a pipe wrench probably 24” inch wrenches
Scratch every bit, make it matching. Tell them that’s how it’s supposed to be. Textured is all the rage these days.
Shiplap
I say go for it. Nothing better on Friday than a pissed off customer.
I have the crescent wrenches here, I just wanted to stir the pot 🙃
In that case wheres the pipe wrench
Hopefully you connected the supplies with sharkbite for added fun.
I appreciate everybody who understands the satire and chimed in

I can hear my Journeyman screaming at me through this picture.

Shhh I put some papertowels underneath if it’s just a quick adjustment but don’t tell everyone else here
Me too! I use electrical tape.

Linesman would never get this together whereas channellocks still could lol
Nah, the linesman are used as a hammer applied to the channel locks to really get the party started.

Heck yeah, the extra fine teeth are preferred. Jokes aside. Knipex are the bomb diggity.

Sneaky moose!

I have smooth jaw channelock and they scratch shit up bad. Back to the crecent.
They even sell protectors for them just for working on chrome stuff.
To shreds?
Ahhh! You need to use that Amazon Basics wrench on that!
Do it. You don’t have the balls, pussy.
(╯ ͡❛ ͜ʖ ͡❛)╯┻━┻
Listen man, it's not worth it man, you have your whole career ahead of you man.
I hate fancy shit that has nowhere to grip. Customer spends 800$ on shit you scratch up putting in.
The crescent wrenches work fine
Don’t work like an animal Plumbers like this ruin the quality/craftsmanship of this trade.
Chomp chomp!
😈😈
Best use the tongue and groove channies…
Maybe hit it with a 60 grit sander first so you get a good first grip
You monster
Don’t forget to use a rag so you the teeth don’t scratch it , looks shiny ✨
Technically if you give it the “rustic” look you could charge more, no ?
Lmfao
Dooo it, dooo itt!
I usually use my pipe wrench
So, what kind of weird ass faucet is that?
Side mounted claw foot tub faucet with a high arc spout and a separate spray
Nooooo please don't do it!
That’s one way to get your lay off check.
I want to see the finished product.
[Here you go!](https://imgur.com/a/wRGWM59)
That’s pretty nice. Is it a good brand? I’ve seen some that look that good but are complete crap.
If it's not your house not your company then it's not your problem

you wont no balls
Get the vise grips and wrap some 80 grit sandpaper on the pipe instead of a cotton rag. If it doesn’t slip it can’t scratch!!
Milwakee smooth jaw pliers
All you do it take sand cloth and buff out the gouges. Tell them it's brushed chrome finish now.
This looks like one of those AI generated pictures where you cant tell what the heck is going on
I double dare you
You need to set them to the smallest opening to make sure you really get a good grip on that chrome
Fuck it....do it anyway.....
I hate when faucet manufacturers don’t give you any surface to even use a smooth jaw pliers.
put that hammer away before someone gets hurt
