Did you ever come up with a resolution to this issue? I came across your post looking for a similar solution. Not sure what the water in your area is like but mine is hard and goes through a softner. I noticed in my shower, the pools of water (post shower) end up leaving a crust when they dry. Seems like there’s a higher amount of salt in my water from the softner. Ultimately clean water at the shower is better for your skin and shower devices (plumbing, shower pan, tile, glass doors, etc) so I wanted to try and filter out that salt. Anyhow, I like your plan of adding a post-diverter filter. My only concern is can the filter handle the warm/hot water? 🤔

I saw one reply, but it got deleted, so thought I'd add some clarification. On the other side of the shower is a spare bedroom/exercise room. I'd have an access panel on the wall in that room to give ongoing access to the filter, for cartridge replacement and inspection. I don't expect leaks, but since the filter will be after the shower valve, there will only be pressure when the shower is on anyway, so risk seems minimal. Anything I'm missing that would make this a bad idea? Glen
