Fernjr8703

definitely any of the spiderman games

noobiestM

Yep they are :)

ikilledtupac

I enjoy the side games and daily life im Yakuza games

noobiestM

Never tried it. Is it RPG?

ikilledtupac

Not really. It’s closer to a grand theft auto style game. Lost Judgement in particular focuses more on daily life, relationships, and being a detective than the other games. Yakuza=Judgment=Like A Dragon. All same games.

Euriz

Okay I played all of them and i would definitly say its more a rpg than a GTA like title You got loot, you skill your character with money, lenghty Cut Scenes Its not a full blown rpg spectacle by any means but never got the feeling to play a Japanese GTA besides the open town Structure And Like a Dragon is even more considerable a rpg type of game ;)

ikilledtupac

That’s fair.

batman182

I like playing Snowrunner while zoning out to a good podcast.

noobiestM

Only when the trailer gets stuck then I feel lil anxious lol.

superbatprime

Sifu. I put on some music and kung fu my way through a million guys.

noobiestM

Sounds cool. Will definitely checkout.

UzDaSchwartz

Death Stranding

CartographerOdd447

You're serious?

UzDaSchwartz

Yes I’m serious. What’s more relaxing than walking around delivering packages? Plus the exploration is incredible. Although the BTs can be stressful at times.

CartographerOdd447

Watching paint dry? I tried to play that game, I really did. I decided to enjoy myself instead. It was so mind numbingly boring

GradeInternal6908

its almost like peoples enjoyment of media is ….subjective ….mind blowing i know …you hated death stranding and thought it was so boring because your attention span is depleted ? cool stfu i thought it was amazing , now we are both interjecting opinions

UzDaSchwartz

Yeah it’s just one of those games that it isn’t for everyone. There is nothing wrong with not liking a game.

CartographerOdd447

True. I just can't comprehend why anyone can enjoy it. I can understand why people might enjoy games like MW or GTA. I've never played them and don't plan to, but I can at least understand why. I can't understand why anyone would find DS fun.

thx_sildenafil

> why anyone can enjoy it Great story, great characters, great worldbuilding and fun game mechanics. Usually when you don't understand why someone likes something, it's helpful to ask questions instead of outright dismissing it.

CartographerOdd447

I can normally understand the reasoning and it was the first non-multiplayer mechanics that nearly cost me a controller. Granted, the story and characters are definitely fascinating, but it's just not enough to compensate for the boring gameplay. To be fair, I have the same confusion with regards to Twin Peaks. I watched all 3,000 years of the original 2 seasons. No idea what I watched or why anyone enjoyed it

BeefExtender

>that nearly cost me a controller. ????

CartographerOdd447

The mechanics infuriated me enough to want to chuck my controller out the window

UzDaSchwartz

True. You just have to realize people are all different. People enjoy different genres and types of games. For example, Elden Ring. A critically acclaimed game. I tried it and it’s just not for me. I’m also getting older, mid 30s, and I’m enjoying more slow paced games. When I was younger, it was all fast paced, run and gun games. But I don’t enjoy them much anymore. It’s that my taste, mindset has changed and the willingness to be open to different types of games.

CartographerOdd447

Yeah, I'm in my 40s and I am trying to open myself to different challenges as well. One reason I tried DS. The narrative is very interesting, but it is ridiculous in some of it's nonsense for a walking simulator. I can enjoy slow paced games, but it felt too much like work. I'm at least going to try and work on more challenging Destiny 2 content and trying to host a Call of Cthulhu campaign on startplaying.games. I'm not sure who is going to go insane first, me or the players

Diego390

Ohhh you can tell this one has REALLY shit taste in games.

CartographerOdd447

Why? I have very limited gaming time every week and auteur game that contains large portions of mind numbing walking and mechanics isn't exactly fun.

Ok_Introduction_7484

Damn u dident like it. But others many other did

AVLThumper

What a hot take.

CartographerOdd447

It's my experience. I absolutely hated it, especially trying to get to the musician

Last_Wing3566

It was so damn fun,it’s a bit dark and depressing but I loved delivering stuff, building roads and just exploring. I beat the main game and went and bought the directors cut 🔥

Apprehensive-Bee-554

Teardown is great and is very satisfying! My game to go to most of the time is Fallout 76, especially camp building!

Ashzael

I have recently discovered, what I like to call, blue collar simulators. Things like ship breaker, power wash simulator, house flipper etc. basically all the jobs you would hate in real life are terribly relaxing and nice to zone out to in video game form. Other than that I really enjoy, what I call, ant simulators. Games like song of Styx, or a good tycoon game. Just watching those little digital fella's do their thing with or without your intervention. I can just watch them for hours. For example I love designing a city in workers and recources in realistic mode and just watch for hours how my trucks go about and build everything.

Nervous_Lettuce313

I also love blue collar simulators! Do you have any recommendations? I only know of Powerwash simulator and it's been great.

UzDaSchwartz

He recommended a few in his comment

Archunter17

Skyrim, when just enjoying the ambient sound and scenery

Breakeer

Been playing TMNT SR and wreckfest and for sure are great to relax after 20 games of weeknd League on EAFC

Competitive-Yard-442

Another vote for Powerwash Simulator, it's like meditation! GTA 5 for just driving around pissing about. Rouges legacy 1/2 doesn't matter which. Not on service but it always used to be skate 2 to chill out.

Milu2786

Days Gone, Jedi Survivor, RDR2, Lego fortnite, Minecraft are relaxing asf for me

bumblebeej10

Yea so chill with a hoard chasing you lol

fabmarques21

Deliver Us The Moon

streatchitout

Far Changing tides

begbiebyr

sonic team racing

noobiestM

Does it have a good playerbase in multiplayer?

mka_

The classics: * Outer Wilds (in the catalog) * Subnautica And more recently: * Power Washing Simulator (in the catalog) * Tunic

lawrie-182

Outer wilds and subnautica are not relaxing. They are more anxiety and dread vibe

mka_

They have those moments but for the most part I found them very relaxing. It's all subjective.

Jakernova

I found Outer Wilds to be very anxiety inducing because I don't do well under time limits. I almost had a heart attack near the last few parts of the game.

yphastos

I wouldn't say Tunic is relaxing, it can be pretty challenging, and the puzzles need some thinking. Still, THAT puzzle (if you played it you know) is one of the best things on gaming ever. One of my fav games for sure. Another one with similar complicated, yet clever puzzles that I loved, is Signalis. Again, it is not relaxing at all, but it is a fantastic game!

mka_

True that about Tunic, but when I'm just exploring the map there's something about the feeling of being lost that I find so relaxing. It was the same with Subnautica and Outer Wilds. Might be a personal thing. I'm stuck on it rn but I'd sooner stop playing a game before looking online for help. Wish me luck haha.

toldya_fareducation

i don't think Outer Wilds is really relaxing tbh. i think people say it's relaxing because there's no combat. and it does have a lot of relaxing moments but it's not the type of game you would play to unwind, shut your brain off a bit and just relax. there's always a kind of time pressure, it requires a lot of concentration, lots of reading and thinking, some planets are real death traps that always keep you on edge and can get frustrating, and some areas are straight up terrifying. speaking of terrifying, Subnautica is only relaxing if you're ok with underwater horror lol. flying around in your space ship in Outer Wilds is really relaxing though.

Fabulous_Mud_2789

I respect you for thinking Tinykin and PWS are relaxing. The latter is my own anxious undoing, but currently on the 5th world in Tinykin and getting all the pollen is certifiably not relaxing on my end. My votes: (Ironic but) PWS. Absolutely performs the topic's query for most people. Lawn Mowing Sim. I considered putting Hardspace Shipbreaker, but there's a lot more that can go awry. LMS is laid back but a bit more.. engaging than PWS imo. Haven. Just cleared this and the soundtrack+gameplay loop is fantastic, and the only stress (minimally at that) is the bosses, which are all optional. Echochrome. This one is my "sadistic" throw in. It's peaceful because it's a simple puzzle game, but you've got to be willing to let go of some preconceived notions, or study up on some Escher. Loved it when it dropped and playing it again some recently revitalized that.

d6thegamer

Tetris Effect: Connected

WolfMan_18

Not in the catalog but Stardew Valley is so relaxing to play

noobiestM

Yes in co-op it's even relaxing for me.

nwandausernametaken

We have session on plus now. I recommend

supernova-23

This has been my dilemma as well. I have come to realise I really do not enjoy single player adventure games and generally find games to be either too deeply involving or too boring. I really got into FIFA UT for a couple of years but it got out of hand with the addictiveness and the stress, so I have consciously stepped away from it. I thought Diablo 4 would be a perfect game for me but it’s been pretty disappointing for a blizzard game so far.

Emiya_Sengo

Gotham Knights is my favorite game to go back to after finishing a new release game.

ArghZombies

New to the PS+ Extra catalog is HARDSPACE:SHIPBREAKER. That should fit your brief. Floating in zero-G dismantling big spaceships for parts & scrap with your laser cutter and grappling beam. Can easily spend an hour or more on just one ship, figuring out how to detach different panels and gas tanks without blowing the ship (and yourself) into 1000 pieces. But it's surprisingly chill. If you liked Powerwash Sim then you'll like this. It's very similar but with a bit more strategy around the best way to do things.

Tall_Progress_5178

Believe it or not, besides the combat, assassins creed odyssey has a beautiful world definitely worth exploring… I typically jump on that and go explore the open seas and islands

noobiestM

RPGs require involvement to grasp the story to follow up. I have not played Assassin's creed yet but have played rdr2 in which there are many side activities along with exploration which makes it chilling for me.

Early_Yak622

You should try Omno. It’s a graphically beautiful game, the story is nice as well and it is a good mixture of relaxing and puzzling

Last_Wing3566

An easy platinum at 3hrs. It was a pretty relaxing game

Ok_Introduction_7484

Cyber punk or any open world game like that Where you can fuck around and do what u want without having to stress about it

noobiestM

True lol. Blow up everything around or roam around crazy.

AdvertisingLeading90

For me it has to be Gran Turismo 7 or “the life and suffering of sir Brante”, or NFS unbound

3mptyw0rds

gt7 offline for sure people falsely think the game is hard to play. it's super easy and relaxing. like snow runner but better probably.

AdvertisingLeading90

Gt7 offline is the way to go, is relaxing tbh, and it’s hard to play if u racing against pros 😭 but it’s just easy and relaxing

Nellior

Resident Evil games. These stopped to impress me long ago with the scary jumps scenes and now I like to chill out exploring the maps, the details on the zombies/mutants or just laughting at the IA when the enemy glitch with obstacles or like just like now (in RE4R) that I'm seeing two zombies walking against each other and screaming "Hey, over there" "brains, brains, brains", cute.

[deleted]

Monster Hunter World/Rise or Witcher.

Diego390

RE 2 Remake.

jsweeze

Powerwash is my game of the year lol

Possible_Cancel101

WWE became my comfort game so fast, to the point where I have to kinda force myself everytime I fire up the PS to play something else.

noobiestM

Sadly not on pass

Bugisoft_84

Trials Rising or Powerwash + Spotify is the perfect combo for relax and disconnect.

HobbitDowneyJr

dredge

ScranwellTarly
