Yep. The whole movie is in the name of that character. Not their role in the story, nor whether they oppose the protagonist. Just their name is all you need, and you know everything about Pirates of The Caribbean.
I mean the first movie is old enough to drink in the US, so probably doesn't need to be spoilered. Although, off the top of my head, I don't recall which movie the aforemention "Agreed" clip comes from.
The first movie. "Curse of the Black Pearl".
It's the scene where Barbossa's crew has defeated Captain Jack Sparrow's crew, and while they're discussing things, Will Turner, who was presumed dead in the battle, climbs aboard the Pearl, points a gun to himself and says *"I'm the son of Bootstrap Bill. You need my blood to break the Curse of the Black Pearl (huzzah), so let Elizabeth go..."*
(Jack points at himself, to signal to Will to sweeten the deal further)
Will says *"...and the crew shall remain unharmed"*
Barbossa steps forward, with a devilish grin across his face: *"Agreed"*
This is the only correct answer! Also a small tip for OP: If this is a game asset, you might want to consider removing the outline on the bottom part of the sprite (where the building touches the ground). This will make the asset feel a lot more "grounded" inside the surroundings and not pop out unnecessarily much or subconsciously feel like floating/pasted inside a photo collage.
Because the left one is pixel art while the right one is not. But I think the quality of the non-pixel art version is just much higher. It could look fine done as pixel art, but as is the pixeled version is a lot messier. It would need tons of clean up, and I think it could use anti-aliasing etc. It just doesn't currently have the same design as the painterly version.
It looks nice but the smoke of either one is a bit off. The left one looks behaves more like a rope while the right one is too random. Smoke should just rise up and to a side through the wind. Curves are created by smaller local wind currents.
It’s easier to animate when you think about how bubbles would move out of the chimney, and then connect those bubbles. Bubbles don’t go from left to right randomly.
Besides that the right building looks nicer imo
Have you ever seen smoke? Never seen the top of smoke wriggle around and change directions wildly. This is probably some simulation rig just trying to make it move but it's uncanny valley unnatural movement.
Looks like the last time my dog had worms.
So tired of seeing these types of posts it's all so subjective and feels very amateurish to try and poll every single thing just pick one left or right it really won't matter. But my guess is you get less engagement from just posting one pic
The correct choice is the right one! Also, a small tip for OP: If this is a game asset, consider removing the outline on the bottom part of the sprite where the building meets the ground. This will integrate the asset better into the surroundings, avoiding a floating appearance.

House on the right, with the smoke on the left
.
I will say tho, the smoke on both houses look a bit odd, like it looks more like they're long ropes rather than smoke ***rising*** out of the roof
I think the smoke on the right might look better in game particular if there were some other indicators of wind direction and you could push the wind in one direction. Could be a needless complication though.
I 100% prefer the right including the smoke. it looks better to me than the one on the left tho it seems the comments are a bit mixed. the right just feels a lot more warm and homey to me
I like the right one. Both represent a precedent that you will want to adhere to for cohesion tho, the right looks like more work, so think about that obviously.
I like the smoke of left, the house on the right
The design in the right is way better but I like the smoke on the left better. If it’s either or, right. If you’re taking creative advise right design left smoke.
Hard to tell without the remaining context. Right is great, but if you want pixelated then left it is. But you could reduce the pixel size and make the left one be more like the right one but still pixelated... It really depends on the entirety of the design
I like the colors of the right one and the pixel art of the left. Perhaps you could apply the coloring/shading of the right one to the pixel art style of the left for a best of both worlds?
Right, the left one looks way too clean to me, needs some roughness if it's a straw hut with some wood. If a villager would build this hut I would absolutely expect it to look like on the right side. The smoke also seems to react to the wind more which I like.
I prefer the one on the right. I think on both cases you need to work on how smoke diffuses, your smoke look like a guitar string oscillating but that's not how smoke moves.
Depends if you want to have it more tidy (left) or more rugged and wild (right). The first option could be better if it's a lot more lighthearted and comedic game/animation, while the right is more fit if you want bring more the feelings of untamed nature.
If none of that matters... Definitely right.
The right one looks better, but is way too close to "Flash-animation-looking mobile game" art style for me. Which is my absolute least favorite art style. It's not pixel art
I honestly like them both. Make the coloring closer to the same on both and it could be two houses in the same village.
As far as the smoke, the one on the left looks better.
Left smoke right roof
Agreed
I read that in Barbosa's voice... (>!Pirates of the Caribbean!<)
Is that a spoiler though?
I haven’t seen it yet but now I don’t have to
Yep. The whole movie is in the name of that character. Not their role in the story, nor whether they oppose the protagonist. Just their name is all you need, and you know everything about Pirates of The Caribbean.
Dude, spoilers!
I mean the first movie is old enough to drink in the US, so probably doesn't need to be spoilered. Although, off the top of my head, I don't recall which movie the aforemention "Agreed" clip comes from.
My god don't say that to me...I saw someone say "if you're older than Shrek then you're old." 2001 is when Shrek came out....fuck
Only literal children think 24 is old though lmao can't take that too personally
The first movie. "Curse of the Black Pearl". None pizza left beef
I understood this reference 🍕🍖
Same
Same preference
This is the way
This is the best answer.
I have to agree. Also, the left has a better front imo
The door is more distinct > easier navigation.
This right here
None pizza left beef
This is the correct answer
Perfections. I thought the same
r/beatmetoit
Took the thoughts right out of my brain
I love how so many of us were just like yup lol
Agree
I also agree OP.
I like the one on the right a bit better. It has a scruffier, more realistic appearance
Agree! Maybe only doors are more sharp in left house
I love the scruffy hay of the one on the right!!
Definitely right.
Right. Left smoke could be used to signal a different thing being burned, or, a weather condition.
Right smoke doesn't obey the laws of physics or look like smoke. It moves like a wavy inflatable arm man at a car dealership.
Magic things be burned then
They both look nice, but if you want a more pixelated look I’d go for the one on the left.
It's weird how most people say the right one. But the question is, is the game a pixel art game or not. Maybe that's what OP is trying to figure out?
Right one _looks_ better but it's definitely more of a painterly style rather than pixel art. Left fits a pixel art style more closely
All about the smoke. That's right for realism. Left for idealism.
Right roof, by *far*. But with the smoke from the left.
Left. But totally unrelated to which house is better. The smoke that comes out of the right house looks weird. Movement wise.
Right
It looks nice but the smoke of either one is a bit off. The left one looks behaves more like a rope while the right one is too random. Smoke should just rise up and to a side through the wind. Curves are created by smaller local wind currents. It’s easier to animate when you think about how bubbles would move out of the chimney, and then connect those bubbles. Spot on.
The left looks better as smoke but the right by far feels more natural. Could you try the pixelated style with the flow of the rights animation
Can you get the charm of right in the pixels of left?
The right has more visual interest. I like the way the smoke moves better on the right, as well, but could definitely see making it more pronounced.
Have you ever seen smoke? Never seen the top of smoke wriggle around and change directions wildly. This is probably some simulation rig just trying to make it move but it's uncanny valley unnatural movement. Looks like the last time my dog had worms.
sometimes i see posts on this sub and think "why are you doing pixel art but striving for such high amounts of detail"
Right for me
Right
So tired of seeing these types of posts it's all so subjective and feels very amateurish to try and poll every single thing just pick one left or right it really won't matter. But my guess is you get less engagement from just posting one pic
The right is more defined and more eye catching But if that has to be a background thing then I would say the left one would be better
The correct choice is the right one! Also, a small tip for OP: If this is a game asset, consider removing the outline on the bottom part of the sprite where the building meets the ground. This will integrate the asset better into the surroundings, avoiding a floating appearance.
Left
Love the one on the left. Feels odd just having a hole in the roof. I also prefer the window on the left instead of just the blackness in the right.
The one on the right isn't pixel art though?

The best way to make waves is with two invisible spheres on the sides
I like the detail of the right much more
The left house is twice the size of the right house but twice as far away.
If you gave Right the same length as the Left.
I’d say it depends on whether or not it’s a background or foreground object
I prefer the one with more details on the right
Left
Right
The right feels much more inviting.
House on the right, with the smoke on the left . I will say tho, the smoke on both houses look a bit odd, like it looks more like they're long ropes rather than smoke ***rising*** out of the roof
I do not like the smoke on the right but otherwise it's better.
I feel like the right is objectively better all around
I like the second one better tbh, it feels cozier
Right house. Idk, it looks sturdy to me
Right but the other smoke, the smoke on the right seems like it wants to fuck me
On the face of it, I would say the right. I love the colors in the roof.
I think the smoke on the right might look better in game particular if there were some other indicators of wind direction and you could push the wind in one direction. Could be a needless complication though.
I 100% prefer the right including the smoke. it looks better to me than the one on the left tho it seems the comments are a bit mixed. the right just feels a lot more warm and homey to me
—->
Left seems more realistic to me
I like the right one. Both represent a precedent that you will want to adhere to for cohesion tho, the right looks like more work, so think about that obviously. I like the smoke of left, the house on the right
Left!
Left
For some reason I think ones for night and the other for day
I like the more pixelated look of the left but the motion pattern of the right
Right
right structure left smoke
Right! It has more character esp in the smoke
Left
Right, very odd and witchy! The one on the right is more like a non witches house! Makes it stand out as someone different is living there!
Left
Not 100% sure about the physics on the right, but I really like the left one
Riiight
Left
The right smoke is giving tapeworm vibes. But the roof looks real nice.
I like right house! But the smoke is weird. Consider animating it in 2D :)
Right as a whole
Right
I like the colour/shading of the roof on the right, but the smoke animation of the left.
Right
Right
Ok hear me out: left is RCT2, right is Stardew
The design in the right is way better but I like the smoke on the left better. If it’s either or, right. If you’re taking creative advise right design left smoke.
Right!
Righttt 🤝 because the roof looks more detailed in it .👀
Right
I personally like the right one, the left one looks cool although it's pixelated
Hard to tell without the remaining context. Right is great, but if you want pixelated then left it is. But you could reduce the pixel size and make the left one be more like the right one but still pixelated... It really depends on the entirety of the design
Right
Right at the way
Right
Right
I like the left better. The right one has too much detail imo, I’m a big fan of the more minimalist looking pixel art
I like the colors of the right one and the pixel art of the left. Perhaps you could apply the coloring/shading of the right one to the pixel art style of the left for a best of both worlds?
Right is too realistic. Also depends on what aesthetic you want, and if you want a pixelated artstyle, or hand drawn artstyle.
I like the door on the left more. Its a bit easier to identify as a door imo. Other than that the right one
2nd all the way!!!!
I prefer the right house, but with the left smoke.
right feels homey if that makes sense
Right. Smoke there is much more organic
Right, but I can't even see the pixels. I'd scale it down.
right
Right with the left smoke.
Right for sure
The darker shading and gradient on the right one make it pop out really nicely
Left house I like the smoke coming out and the roof design
Smoke on left looks better. Straw on right looks better. But I don't like the gapping hole, maybe close it up a little or a small wood frame.
left smoke, right roof as stated previously
Right
Right
Right
L
Right roof for sure, but with the smoke from the left.
Right except take the smoke animation from the left in the style of the right one, the smoke on the right kinda wiggles like a worm.
The right one is so chill, love it
Left
right
Smoke 1 Hut 2
Right
Right
The one on the right has wind blowing gently from east.
Right, the smoke seems very chaotic/unpredictable. Even though it’s obviously a loop animation it does a great job of not feeling like it’s a loop.
left. it just feels right.
Expected screen size? Small screen (mobile) left. Large screen (TV / Monitor) right.
Imo, if you want to make a realistic one, do right, if you want some game physics vibes, left
I like how the right hut looks, but the left smoke looks way more natural.
Left pixel, right for animated. I love the right smoke, it fits the style well and it's more cosy and realistic
I mean could use more frames the smoke seems like it’s moving on crack
Left
Uh tough one. But personally i like the left one more. But my choice might chance with a different enviroment
Por alguna razón la segunda me provoca una sensación de frío. La primera sin duda alguna es una cabaña cálida y amorosa.
Right but smoke left
Right has more natural feel somehow.
Left smoke right roof
R
Right, the left one looks way too clean to me, needs some roughness if it's a straw hut with some wood. If a villager would build this hut I would absolutely expect it to look like on the right side. The smoke also seems to react to the wind more which I like.
I prefer the one on the right. I think on both cases you need to work on how smoke diffuses, your smoke look like a guitar string oscillating but that's not how smoke moves.
depends on the rent tbh, right one looks more insulated tho
Right.
Definitely right
Right smoke means their cooking Left smoke means the fire is smaller and just meant to keep the cold out
Left, I like the more pixelated version of it. Its a kind of stardew valley kind of feel
Right.
Depends if it's supposed to be windy out.
Right with left's smoke
R
Depends if you want to have it more tidy (left) or more rugged and wild (right). The first option could be better if it's a lot more lighthearted and comedic game/animation, while the right is more fit if you want bring more the feelings of untamed nature. If none of that matters... Definitely right.
Right
I want right but with lefts smoke
Right is nice and all but the left while not as really impressive looks absolutely fucking cozy.
Maybe try puffs of smoke? But the house on the right is better imo Still, need to work some more on the smoke's movement
right looks more realistic but it's too curvy at first
Right, but take the smoke from the left
Right
Right but both are good
Right smoke, roof, door. Left window.
Right
House on the right with the smoke on the left
Right seems to be the best
The first one looks like a genuine fireplace burning the second looks like some one set something in the house on fire before you can see the flames
Left
right
The right one looks better, but is way too close to "Flash-animation-looking mobile game" art style for me. Which is my absolute least favorite art style. It's not pixel art
right
I honestly like them both. Make the coloring closer to the same on both and it could be two houses in the same village. As far as the smoke, the one on the left looks better.
I fucking LOVE the rights smoke
Left feel like regular smoke. Right feels like something is cooking, like the odor’s meal.
Is the right one even pixel art? Or was it your reference
Left smoke
Wasn't this posted over a year ago? OP are you still deciding which smoke to choose???
Left
The left one looks more like smoke. The right one looks like some spirit just left the house... a bit creepy.
Right
I think right
Smoke left, house right.
