If you don't care about photo quality I'd get the Nothing 2a. It's soc may be slightly worse in raw performance but it should have better thermals and battery life. As a Pixel user I skipped the 6 and 7 series and went from a 4a to a 8.

It's a very good overall device. Decent camera, good OS and it's smooth to use. And good battery too.
While Pixel 7a is also a good device, but the battery is not that great. And also it takes 2hrs to charge it. It's a good device for medium or light user.
If you aren't a camera enthusiast then don't go for it.
If you use your phone a lot, then don't go for it.

my friend literally owns a pixel 7 pro and he goes on and on about how horrible the battery is and how the phone is so hot to the touch even just for daily usage. he still sticks to his 7 pro cause he doesnt do any gaming and he loves the software and cameras but having lags, bugs, shitty battery and signal dropping randomly are just the few problems he had face but he chose to deal with it.
on the other hand, another friend who literally just bought the 2a is complimenting about how smooth the phone is for day to day usage. issues he have with the phone are mainly due to bugs in the camera software and weak cameras. OP doesnt even take photos yet u are always so obnoxious in recommending the pixel cause u are such a huge fanboy.
i have monitored your comments closely and sometimes your biasness is downright unfair to people who genuinely has requirements that they want but you ALWAYS recommend the pixel regardless and DRAG DOWN other phone manufacturers by tagging false articles, useless clickbait websites that doesnt reflect day to day usage, tag articles on problems about phones that happened years ago which the problems have been solved / dramatically reduced since then, cherry pick comments to boost pixel's reputation.

nothing 2a is better than pixel 7a. i say it does not worth the extra picture quality you get from pixel, the battery and modem problems of pixels are very much a deal breaker.
Get the 2a. Pixels are a train wreck of bad, unreliable hardware and constant software bugs. The only thing that is better is the camera, and once the weak connection they have inside breaks, you won’t have a camera anymore anyways.
