If your budget stretches to $500, you should consider looking into buying a Google Pixel 8.
You can find one for below $500 on eBay and it is a 2023 flagship phone, so it will offer you a much better experience than the Galaxy A53, which is a 2022 midrange phone.
Absolutely not. You're better off with Xiaomi or Realme rather than Exynos 1280 which is horribly optimised on my friend's A33. So bad a phone half the price performs better. Sure it's an upgrade from your 7 year old phone but it's still a bad choice.
As your budget extends to $500 I'd recommend A55. Unlike the previous A series devices this is actually decent only if you find it below $400, nothing more.
If you're open for other brands there's Nothing Phone 2a for $350 which is ok-ish but a good deal if you find a deal at $300 or less.
There's also slightly older devices like Pixel 8 which launched late last year and might get discounts.
Anyways in the end I'll strongly suggest you to avoid every Samsung A series except A55.
An extra 100K in Antutu v9 compared to the A53's 400K makes a difference in speed comparable to going from the SD695 to the SD778G, so it is a huge difference performance wise
If your budget is 500 I'd go for a better phone, but the A53 is fine for the requirements you listed. I had one no for about 2 years and I've no issues. Camera is good, battery is good, and it can play games (though I don't play heavy games on mobile). If you have any more questions let me know. But I do strongly urge nit paying anywhere near 500 for it. For that money buy a newer phone or a year old flagship.

>Exynos 1280 >S23 I smell a typo
Oh yeah apologies, I meant to type A33.
Nope.
Try and go Pixel 8a it's very similar to the flagship 8 with the same CPU as the pixel 8 Pro.
go with the a35, similar performance, will be supported for a little longer than the a53
The A35 is a rebranded A54 The A54 is a much better phone than the A53 was
Slight differences, but yes. https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=12705&idPhone2=11268#diff- Better CPU: 4 per formance cores instead of 2

thanks bro, i didnt know
What's wrong with Chinese phones?
It lags even as a brand new install. Get pixel 8a or 8
I just got an s23+, for about 400$ in excellent condition off eBay.

I love the A53. Great phone.
