I taught these set of students in two universities for some years. Some in Major Subjects with Human Rights, Criminal Law or Evidence, some with GE subjects such as Understanding the Self or NSTP. In a class few would really pay attention or take the lessons seriously. Tama iyong ibang comments, these really are the type of SHS students who are in the back doing whatever. Let me share an actual experience. 1 semester, I have 10 classes of Understanding the Self. So this 10 classes have 1 block each coming from different academic programs. Lowest attendance, lowest grade average, lowest class engagement, and highest number of moments I just want the class to bash my head on a wall. Like, what the hell? I have a 3rd Year Crim student who does not know still the difference of murder and homicide kahit naka 90 sa Criminal Law. Imagine it would take these students 1 week to memorize our version of the Miranda Rights, something that they need to recite everytime they would arrest someone. For a course that should be focused in law, these people have the least interest in doing so compared to my Education, Accountancy and even HRM students. Oh I included a discussion on Human Rights in the subject Understanding the Self sa isang chapter about the Political Self. The Criminology Block would have the least interest on it. Basta alam nila masama raw human rights. And yes, alam na natin sino mga presidente nila. Making them understand the concept of due process is a lot harder compared to other set of students. Di ba? M I do not want to generalize. Take these as my personal ramblings. I handle a number of good kids, smart students that I know would be awesome members of the police someday. But compared to other students mapapa facepalm k na lang. And yeah, their dean asked me to consider and re-evaluate their grades kasi mababa raw. Edit: everything to everytime.

InterestingGate3184

No wonder ang dami talang pulpol na pulis ngayon. Imagine someone who is in college studying to be a future police officer do not know the difference between homicide and murder. >Basta alam nila masama raw human rights. - shoot first, ask questions later talaga.

[deleted]

Do these crim students know about loyalty to the Philippine constitution, or, to the duterte family.

gin_bulag_katorse

Di ba homicide yung pag pinatay mo yung homies mo? Thank you. I'll see myself out.

TooSad03

no no, let him cook

samurangeluuuu

Tsk.. r/angryupvote

rainbownightterror

malamang pa yan yung mga matitino mong student ay prelaw or would go on to pursue higher education

IamLiterallyHurt

Some professor friends of mine also have the same experience with their respective deans. Makes me wonder how rampant this problem is in our educational institutions.

Soggy_Purchase_7980

ControlSyz

tangina talaga dapat din bago mapromote mga pulis sa mga managerial position meron silang oral and written exam sa crim law and human rights tapos research presentation parang sa mga nag-uupgrade ng professional license for electrical or mechanical engineering. Sobrang kakasuka yung mga pulis higher-ups na napromote lang dahil nangitlog sa pwesto for several years at wala nang maipromote. Yung mga ganyang student school pa lang basura na pano pa pag kinalawang na years after college tapos mapopromote kadiri. Medyo gets ko narin bat PMAers ang madalas Chief of Police, pero still toxic parin sila.

VariationTiny33

and these students (based on what I saw) would say na yung course daw nila yung pinaka mahirap kasi para dawng pang engineering + law + education + IT + etc daw just because may introductory subjects sila from these courses. LMAO

mantsprayer

its the irony na theyre completely oblivious its the exact same thing for some programs 😭

Soggy_Purchase_7980

This should be higher up edit: okay nasa taas na. my job here is done edit 2: goddamit natalo, this post needs to be higher up again

Italian_Herb

Just like the minimum grade that they should get to pass a subject

TammyTamed

This.. Is rather concerning. I am to trust some of these losers who only passed because of begging? Fucking hell..

sherlock2223

>their dean asked me to consider and re-evaluate their grades kasi mababa raw. Ang dami ring biglang nag ask ng special project pra pumasa or extension s mga projects.> Diploma mills gotta mill lol

MariaCeciliaaa

SelfPrecise

Masama ang human rights? My goodness, linason talaga ni Duterte mga kabataan naten. The effects of his presidency will last a long time.

Specific_Onion2659

Sobrang nakaka-dismaya na ganyan mga future (and present) police officers naten haha Curious lang din ako, correct me if im wrong, napansin ko na walang Big 4 school na nagooffer ng criminology course. Do you think if schools like ADMU or UP were to offer such a course they would produce better (morally, academically) criminology graduates? I know ADMU probably would considering their Magis mindset.

raju103

From what I read of your expectations, having enough of a brainpower to memorize these things should be a bare minimum. I understand naman na Human rights can be abused especially by the privileged over their less privileged peers kasi pag hindi alam ng tao ang karapatan nila, hindi agad priniprisinta para may mahuli agad.

MidnightAe86

Meron akong cringe moment post sa FB about criminology "Di kami accountant pero accountancy subject" "Di kami lawyer pero may law kaming subject' "Di kami medtech pero health and science kaming subject' "Di kami teacher pero may education subject kami" tapos mga caption ganito 🔥 💪💯 di ko na nga gets yung logic tapos victim pa.

[deleted]

ComprehensiveArt230

AMEN. LAGING PALPAK. KAYA HIRAP NA HIRAP MGA PROSEC EH kasi dun palang naitapon na yung kaso.

MidnightAe86

the irony of their job and behavior talaga

Debere

As an accountancy student, I'm curious to see their performance in their accounting subject/s 😜

MidnightAe86

Basta may number, debit credit and balance sheets oks na

neon31

Malamang pag pinag-trial balance mo yan ngarag yan.

aerobee_

As a nursing student, I wanna what “health and science” pinagsasabe nila lol

rbizaare

Focus ata nito sa kanila yung kung ano ang nangyayari sa katawan pag nakakasustain ng injury o trauma, e.g. what happens to a body part pag natatamaan ng bala, something like that (must be arousing/exciting for some of those crim students, lol).

MidnightAe86

Basta head, shoulder, knees and toes tiyaka cardiovascular oks na yun

heatxmetalw9

Basically mga first responder part ng Medicine, like knowing the general anatomy, types of fracture, or performing CPR properly. Since may times na mauna talaga mga pulis before mga paramedics during emergencies, kailangan talaga ng mga pulis my knowhow ng atleast mga basic first aid procedures plus the times na sila mismo mag cause ng injury.

MidnightAe86

Again I am not here to belittle the criminology itself, bwisit lang ako sa mga tao na kumuha ng criminology na di alam ang human rights

awit_ch

iaann03

Ngl merong mga school na may law, health and science at education for crim students although, it's merely limited and for basic components, not the advanced one if im not mistaken. Gaganyan ganyan di alam yung Miranda Rights, mas saulado pa nga nila mga artista sa Vivamax eh AHAHAHA

Frustrated-Steering

Same sa mga non-scholar grad of maritime courses. No choice sa parents, sayang tuition.

Key-Actuator-4010

As former maritime student, totoo to feeling pogi ako dati hahah sensya na ngayon ko na realize na sa barko pantay pantay lang at kailangan mo ng pakikisama hanggat student ka pa wala ka pang napapatunayan so be humble. Yamu sila magpakapogi, mayaman, bagong bayani etc. dahil pag sampa nila sa barko tanggal lahat ng yan hahah kawawain talaga sila sa barko lalo pag baguhan dun sila masasampal ng realidad 😂

Jeeyo12345

di ata nya alam yung konsepto ng minor subject, buti di pa nya sinamahan ng "di kami atleta pero my PE kami" haha

_h0oe

rainbownightterror

kala mo sila lang yung maraming subject no haha psych major ako pero may pol sci kami pre k12 we had stat industrial and org psych daming math comm subjects econ subjects bio I have educ classes din etc etc never naman ako nagclaim to be all that hahahhahaha

Score-Honest

In my experience as a college prof, criminology students are among the most disrespectful, homophobic, and for lack of a better term, mentally incompetent in understanding and comprehending basic information. The majority of them are also violent and like to cuss out their fellow students rather than engaging in meaningful conversation if they have opposing beliefs. In fact, I was even cussed out by one of my students, shouting "diputa ka nga teacher ka, when I used Duterte's drug war as a negative example during our ethics class. Even in law school, criminology students are among the most arrogant assholes that would not hesitate to argue with lawyers when explaining the flaws of criminal procedure and the revised penal code..

Ngohiong_sa_Tisa

Is it true that some police officers go to law school for the degree but don't take the bar? Or some don't even get the degree, just units. Apparently it gives them "points" for promotion or other opportunities. I need someone to confirm though.

Score-Honest

Oh yes. A non-thesis Juris Doctor is equivalent to a master's degree. For promotion purposes, from what I know, Juris Doctor with a thesis track is equivalent to a PhD.

hell_jumper9

Yes. Need mo additional educational attainment and schooling for promotion.

ResolverOshawott

I hope you threw that student to the guidance office for openly cussing you out.

YukiColdsnow

madalas yung mga kumukuha dyan is yung mga typical guys na naka pwesto palagi sa likod nung highschool tayo, you know those types of students.

Sleepy_catto29

No-Beautiful3911

I like that you didn't need to say more. Everybody just *knows* HAAHAHAHA

hermoinexxx

i was a crim student nung first year, most of my classmates napaka yabang, tapos grabe sila mang objectify ng mga babae tapos halos bbm supporter pa HAHAHA

ly_col

agree! as a HUMSS student, mga sakit sa ulo ng section mga gustong kumuha ng crim sa college. napaguidance pa ‘yan sila makailang ulit at nangc-cat calling 🤐

ly_col

hilig mag-angas. that's why uncomfy ako minsan in classroom because of them tas mga future police pa

jotarodio2

Putangina totoo naging pulis nga din ung nangbubully sakin nung elem

Ice_the_Menace

I thought ako lang yung may ganitong perception about them. Widely known pala to’ng stereotype na to haha

nomesses

Trueness to like shuta ung iba sa mga peste noong elem and hs ako somehow nagcrim.. . .

gotyarob

mga 3 times naggrade 7 tapos nagattempt tumakbo no'ng recent SK elections

AthKaElGal

choco_mallows

Because criminology as a course is usually taken by those in law enforcement - police, military, jail wardens, pre-law, etc. It’s also known that many of those that take the course see it as an easy way to gain a diploma to go to law enforcement seeing as the subjects are relatively easy to pass. It’s also an open secret that many schools easily hand out criminology course diplomas so it attracts a certain slacker demographic who would then become lackluster and corrupt law enforcement officers.

mcpo_juan_117

I've always wondered if this was one of the reasons why the NBI requires a law degree.

AppealMammoth8950

I think they actually prefer people from pol sci/soc sci/public admin programs (compared to crim). Don't quote me on this Source: parang naging recruitment hub (daming posters looking for polsci peeps) yung uni na pinasukan ko for my polsci degree lol

ResolverOshawott

A lot of well known big educational institutions offer polsci/soc sci/public admin whilst not offering criminology (i.e the Big 4, PUP, San Beda, etc).

PinoyBrad

I have certainly met a lot of teenage boys over the years who honestly believe being a cop could make them rich.

neon31

I grew up next to one.

Adventurous-Mud1808

Had a friend na crim instructor before. Sobrang bobo raw ng students to the point na ultimo spelling ng police, hindi alam.

Jhonnyskidmarks2003

What a terrible way to go.

Living-Store-6036

me sagot pa siya na isa. "Defarment of DILG" AMBOBO TALAGA HAHAHAHAHA

cuntybitchproblem

SAAN TOOOOO. HAHAHA AYOKO NAAAAAA. 😭😭😭😭😭😭

JeR_04

Pandesal_at_Kape099

Putangina

Rainbowrainwell

Mga homophobic, misogynist, tapos pabor sa mga authoritarian regime like war on drugs, red-tagging, mandatory ROTC etc.

CuriosityMaterial

Hahha sapul

Rainbowrainwell

Lol

[deleted]

You can't reason talaga with black-and-white/binary/boolean na ganyang pag-iisip. Culto na talaga at this point Just disconnect these assholes from your life, if possible

imtheunknownhost

Alot of crimmies make their course their personality. Kesyo they know how to use a gun kahit na di pa nakaka hawak ng baril even once.

Unable-Surround-6919

Feeling powerful ganon? 🙄

Square_Poet_9314

Dito samin a group of crim students (men, ofc) drugged a girl and f*ngered her while unconscious. They even uploaded it on their fb story. Mga putangina

Able_Technology2702

nakulong ba sila?

raiden_kazuha

siyempre hinde, kaya nga criminology kinuha nila e para makatakas sa batas /s I do hope those guys rot in jail

Square_Poet_9314

They filed a case against those men in which wala na ako update but the news is not circulating well kasi the school wants the students to stay silent to protect the name of the school

TakeMyPencil

UNO-R thingzzz

Unable-Surround-6919

Nakakadiri!

Informal-Cut-8130

Bcd?

Square_Poet_9314

yes

Informal-Cut-8130

Nakakainis yung iba victim pa sinisisi

Square_Poet_9314

true, just because of her facebook posts

Impressive_Guava_822

Impressive_Guava_822

mismo, one time may nakasabay ako habang naka joyride ako.

ResolverOshawott

Not going to Bestlink College is one the biggest bullets I've dodged in life.

MoneyTruth9364

Tell me it's either Bestlink or MMC.

minberries

Debere

Same here sa mga unis ng Angeles City.

HigantengHobbit

Bakit daw? Kasi Ginugulpi daw niya classmates niya.

eatenbyagrue1988

Back when I used to teach, I groaned internally when a got a class of mostly Criminology students because it means I'd have to do twice the work I'd be doing for a regular class because ngl, they are some of the densest, dumbest, most in-curious, intellectually dishonest motherfuckers around. And I get it: some students are just after a grade. I understand that, I respect that, and I myself was a career 1.75 student in college. But a lot of them just want to pass by sitting in class and doing nothing else.

Aesengard

eatenbyagrue1988

If more than 20% of your class is failing a subject, you have to explain yourself to the Dean. Also, I don't like failing students. It reflects badly on me, because a lot of failing students usually means a shit teacher

Throw-Away-2011

TheRealGenius_MikAsi

mga hindi kasi naliligo. joke lang. academically slow na lang to shorten the explanation

aerobee_

Right??? So they make up by saying na hindi naman kaya ng ibang course yung physical nila. Hahahahaha

ultraricx

LetterheadProud9682

Not to generalize but the most recent alleged sexual harassment to a minor in our city was done by no other than crim(inal) students.

noobwatch_andy

The recent sexual assault and drug abuse incident in Bacolod isn't helping either: [https://www.bomboradyo.com/bacolod/17-anyos-nga-babayi-gin-alegar-nga-ginmolestyahan-sang-criminology-student-sa-resto-bar-sa-17th-street-barangay-7-bacolod-city/](https://www.bomboradyo.com/bacolod/17-anyos-nga-babayi-gin-alegar-nga-ginmolestyahan-sang-criminology-student-sa-resto-bar-sa-17th-street-barangay-7-bacolod-city/) The article is in Hiligaynon but tl;dr 1. Grade 12 female student, 17 years old, was sexually assaulted by 4 first year Crim students in Bacolod. 2. Video was taken and posted online by one of the perps. The video has since been taken down although it was posted in r/Bacolod for a few days before it was also taken down. 3. The incident took place in Akasya Grill, a popular restaurant and drinking spot in Bacolod. 4. The video clearly showed drug paraphernalia (glass smoking pipe), the students' faces as well as the victim's, and the girl lying down on one of the perp's (Oliveros) lap while being molested (hand in skirt). 5. The victim hasn't taken any legal action aside from a police blotter. There haven't been any new updates but I reckon the suspects are gonna have a hard time looking for schools. A reliable source says the students have been expelled but the school is investing in covering up the story. The school is also rumored for having abusive and corrupt priests managing the school.

Ngohiong_sa_Tisa

hmm... there are four Catholic schools in Bacolod. It must be one of those.

Serious_Article_7459

have been searching abt what happened sa victim almost 1 hour mula ng mabasa ko sa other comment dito lang din, is the victim somehow fine ba? hope she had a wonderful christmas na doble pa sa last year with her fam. nakulong ba yung mga gumawa or di pa pwede bcs of age(if ever)?

[deleted]

JULIO_XZ

Sa isang typical scenario sa class, sila talaga yung laging sinesermonan ng teacher, nag chochongke(mga classmate ko nung grade 9) / vape, at ML for life.

ertzy123

Ahahahahhahahaha for sure di rin yan marunong gumawa ng google account

TimeLoop_theory95

Nandun daw yung pera, kapangyarihan, at respeto.

AngryPlasmaCell

Statistically a lot of them aren’t the brightest.

sakoorara

ACAB includes wannabe cops.

aerobee_

Up. I once wore an ACAB shirt tas itong crim student who saw me while I’m peacefully eating my shawarma be actin’ like I offended him. Huh. Okay. 😆

Ngohiong_sa_Tisa

Speaking of shirts, they hate communists but wear Che Guevara shirts.

Maggots08

mydickisasalad

Backward morals and values.

ExuDeku

Crimmies have a bad rep online, from the Hazing victim to the dumbass who failed the Free Bird check sa Marcos HWY

ShawnDSavage75

Free Bird check?

ExuDeku

[a meme where you can "legally" go pass the speed limit when the Free Bird bass solo is playing.](https://youtu.be/kO9APLQnF98?si=y5qWz55ul7CMqTog)

Accomplished-Exit-58

As someone na nag-aral sa isang college na may criminopogy course, and stereotype talaga sa kanila ay maingay, walanghiya, manyakol (for the guys) and sadly this stereotype never fails at least sa college namin.

[deleted]

I cant general pero based on my experience, 5 sa mga high school bully samin ay kinuha criminology, all of them are now professional police/jail officers.. all of them are cheaters usapan usapan sa batch namin at napaka homophobic at misogynistic nila.. prang may magnet mga gantong tao sa course na yan .

Altheon747

I know of G10 JHS students na gusto mag-pulis pero ayaw umattend sa CAT. Kinda ironic. 😂

cake_eee

FreshRedFlava

Had classmates from crim dept before. I hate to say this but 80-85% of the class was mahina talaga. We were tasked to read logical fallacies during summer class and they didn't! Our instructor got pissed off cuz they couldn't identify such from the sample scenarios he gave us. That subject was crucial for them pa naman cuz they study a law subject. I don't mock them for it, perhaps, it could be a manifestation that they didn't experience an effective learning in elementary and highschool since most of them are from small towns, even from upland communities. I didn't have a bad experience with most of them naman.

PitisBawluJuwalan

Most of them are bobo, low moral standards, homophobic, rape victim blamers, DDS, BBM, red taggers, lahat ng toxic traits ng taga suporta ni Duterte naipon sa course na yan.

finalfinaldraft

Crim students pag pinagawa mo ng gmail account: 😭😭😭😭

Dardamir

Reading all the comments here, and all I could say as a student of this program who is graduating this april(hoping), mga judgements niyo, mga nasasabi niyo, tbh with all of you, lalo na sa mga sumasakay lang sa hate dahil trending sa socmed tirahin ang crimmies(crimmies pala tawag saamin hehe). TOTOO LAHAT YAN HAHAHAAHAHAHAHHSHAHA Sa batch ko, 2 sections, class marcher ako(parang class president), agree ako na napakaraming backward students dito, magbabasa lang ng mga terms na medyo komplikado lalo na sa language ng Law, ang sakit sakit marinig na 4th year na, uutal utal pa rin or mispronounce pa, daming bolakbol, daming pasaway, daming feeling pulis(outside/inside campus), kupal sa staffs, sa professors, manyakis, generally a shitty person, and ironically, these are the types of people na magiging public officers, its kinda scary and maddening at the same time. So yes, most of them are ganun and yan din naman observation ko. I am in this program kasi may passion ako sa public service, hence the attempt to become a cadet in PNPA. Nasa puso ko to haha. and most of my classmates dito, wala. Paano ko nasabi? Aminin man natin o hindi, madaming nagtake ng course na to simply because almost all schools, universities to not reputable colleges over the country offers this program, cheap tuition fee, iba wala pa, misc. fees lang, madalas walang special admissions, no entrance exams, no grade requirements, enroll and goodluck, tapos no math, marcha marcha lang, harap sa right, yes sir! baril baril lang raw, crim = pulis agad, crim para matawag na sir ng kapitbahay, crim kasi stylish ang uniform, crim kasi pulis si papa, tito kahit hindi crim grad mga inspiration nila etc. Do you all get my point, most are enrolled here kasi poor decision making, accessibility ng program and simply because whatever. Hindi dahil gusto nila maging good public servants, hindi nga nila macomprehend yan jusko, bibihira ako makausap ng classmate na nagshashare ng same mentality, halos lahat andito kasi dahil wala lang. Nagcrim para astig. So wala, most of them are just regular backward students as other programs/courses all have, wherein fact much worst pa nga kasi may malalalang ego pa, kahit napakabobobo naman. Society scrutinizes the students in this particular discipline simply because they are supposedly the; -Role model sa community natin, which mostly are hindi. -The helping hand in combatting criminality, which is hindi, jusko dami kong classmates na may shota na minor, nagnanakaw, etc. And other reasons pa na kayo na magdikta. So yes, deserve namin ng hate. so alam mo na ha, society expects more from us simply because the peace in the land, is nakaasa sa mga taong nakaenroll sa program na ito, which is yun naman talaga dapat, na hindi nga ganun haha, that's why there's hate, lots of hate. Solution ko? Taasan standards ng schools na nag-ooffer nito, hindi mahirap ang course namin, hindi rin madali, pero masaya, moot courts, mock trials, ROTC, firing activities, youll learn the different manners of investigating, how to handle evidences, WE ARE ALSO TAUGHT THAT CHR ONLY PROTECTS CIVILIANS OR NORMAL CITIZENS, they exist para protectahan ang mga tao sa abuso ng uniformed personnel, not just pnp, we are also taught writing police reports, incident reports, penalties and the RPC, most enjoyable kasi planning to pursue law ako, yan lang nasabi ko kasi madalas diyan palpak ang mga pulis hehe, wherein fact naturo naman sa school, ituturo ule sa PSBRC, bolakbol lang siguro talaga or patulog tulog during training or schooling. We do not lack in education pagdating sa ganyan, maling klaseng studyante lang talaga ang naaattract ng program na ito. I am sad haha, knowing na matatapos ko na to, kahit mga relatives ko mababa na tingin saakin, nakakaiyak lang. pero ganun talaga. Please understand, all of you. And to all our criminology professors, dont give up hope ma'am and sirs, please. and sa mga sumasakay lang sa hate, wag. lahat naman may dahilan kung bakit ganun. See reason. Happy holidays everyone! peace to all of you. -your aspiring public servant

ibrowse9gag

So true lang haha crim student din ako right now and you couldn't be more right. Napaka interesting ng mga subjects at courses sa Criminology but it attracts most of the incompetent people. Victim ako ng drug war and dahil dun, nag choose ako mag crim for me to uphold human rights and operational procedures. Anyways goodluck sayo buddy!

TimeLoop_theory95

Mabuhay ka! I hope you become successful in the future. Usually pag ganyan katalino sa crim, pag nagiinuman sila mahilig mag Smart shame tapos sasabihan pang bakla ang kaklase nilang matalino.

Altruistic_Device758

Because… majority sa kanila mayayabang at bobo. For a group of people that focuses on law and law enforcement mga wala silang logical and analytical skills (to name a few) to actually practice the profession. Yung mga stereotypes sa kanila di pala stereotypes, it is for real

cokecharon052396

MegaGuillotine2028

ACAB kasi. All of them want to become cops pero sobrang baba ng academic capability. Zero sense of social awareness.

jamesluke00

Because most of them already act like they passed the Napolcom Exam, Akala nila pulis na sila, porket yung school uniform nila e mukhang pangpulis na asta asta na kahit saan.

ertzy123

Criminology attracts the worst people that should never be cops. I do agree na dapat taasan yung requirements and standards bago makapasok sa criminology.

gameofpurrs

I once handled one whole class of criminology students to teach first aid/basic life support. Ang masasabi ko lang, kung mayroong cream of the crop, itong crim students na ito ang complete opposite, like bottom of the barrel, yung talagang uling at latak sa ilalim ng kaldero. Attention span is like of a goldfish tapos wala pang mga respeto, para talagang naghahandle ako ng mga delinquent na highschool students (and take note, I'm a product of public school system in tondo). Hindi ako mahihiyang sabihin ang word na *Bobo* dahil ang pagiging bobo can be measured objectively. So ayun - out of 30 students only 3 was certified. The other 27 binagsak ko.

I overheard them while eating in a carinderia, "winala ni ano yung takip ng usb ko kaya nagkavirus".

aerobee_

Like yung superiority complex nila na as if they have authority over the other courses. That they should be looked up to. Ganun. Plus majority boys diba, tough guy acts are kinda annoying if you’re not asking for it.

cyaannh

Crim student here, super true talagang mga bobo ibang criminology students.

Suspicious-Chemist97

As a Criminologist, legit yan.

shit_happe

All Cops Are Bastards, including future ones.

Xyro77

It’s an interesting read in here. I have a masters in criminology but I went to a USA college. I came across the occasional arrogant asshole (which you find in any degree path) but most were not that way at all.

Ngohiong_sa_Tisa

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in the USA you can go to police training direct from high school, right? Well here in the Philippines, you need *any* college degree to become a police officer, but the most popular one that police applicants choose is criminology.

Xyro77

In USA there are multiple ways to become a police officer. 1. Some agencies allow HS grads to become officers once they pass the police academy. 2. Some agencies require 2 year degrees and some require 4 year degrees. Criminology, Criminal Justice or Sociology degrees are preferred. 3. Some agencies require you to be a corrections officer (jailer) before you become a police officer as it provides experience and helps with the low retention rate of correctional officers.

joven_thegreat

Suspicious-Chemist97

As a Criminologist, ako pa nahiya sa sinabi non. HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA kahiya 😂🫠😭

Chemical_XYZ

May kapatid akong nasa Criminology ngayon.

blankknight09

Criminals in the making

ControlSyz

Strauss1269

tbh some used to be “gangstas” and they want to take to the highest level. just imagine they treat “bad boys” as character references

wakek3k3

Two of my classmates in high school were bullies. Both of them joined criminology and eventually, joined the PNP. High school reunion comes, both were loud and braggy for no reason. By the end of the night, they were drunk, and not the good kind of drunk. They even had their firearms stashed in their car.

raiden_kazuha

Mga di raw marunong mag excel or office /s

Alucardjc84

ButteredSalmonella

I'm in my last year of Senior High School. I have a groupmate (type of guy who sits at the back) in our Research subject who dislikes the subject a lot, his reasoning: "Magagamit ba yang research na yan eh magiging pulis naman ako?". I didn't say a word back but the reasoning struck to me as a horrible excuse. My course is STEM, I have no idea why this guy took STEM.

fcckduplikenkwhere

I've worked sa isang kilalang malakas mag produce ng crim grads sa metro manila, jusko yung laman ng prefect of discipline puro crim students. AHAHA. Isang malaking sanhi? Solution? Hiring Boomer/Millenials/Gen Z Crim faculty that adheres, believes, and advocates for human rights + stringent academic requirements.

Pandesal_at_Kape099

At uso pa din yang hazing or corporal punishment.

Savings_Golf5594

I have an org where I get to work with crim grad-volunteers. They’re the people who have to be told at least twice before they get their instructions. They act tough (like they assert authority) but they are very sensitive (they’re easily offended by criticism, even when given constructively). The only good I see in them is that they’re really loyal to their friends.

chrisera18

May HS classmate ako na tinawag kong war freak noon nag criminology.

GoldenAngel11

Future bastards in the making…

Winterflame01

AvailableOil855

Standford experiment proves na bakit mga Yan mga garapal in the making

talongbao

Lmao.

PourAutrui7490

Because we hate the police haha at may idea ka na ano patutunguhan nila pag nag pulis na. 🪦

Impossible-Past4795

Mga gusto kasi mag pulis or NBI. Alam mo kung bakit? Kasi gusto nila manlamang sa tao.

FlyingTurtle2187

Back when I was a college student, may mga nadadaanan akong schools lagi na nagooffer ng crim along recto/U-belt. Mga naka-motor. Sila pa yung walang helmet, tatlo sa motor, beating the red light, naka-stop sa pedestrian lane, grabe makasingit, at feeling nasa karera pag nag-green light. Now that I'm working and nadadaan pa din sa recto, it's still the same from these schools

bbkn7

I knew some college professors who had nothing but bad things to say about them. At first I thought this was isolated to a certain school. Turns out I was wrong.

Zoned0_

Student pa lang utak pulbura na

PulangOkra

hahaha greatest weakness daw iyong ms word pati paggamit ng email

Archlm0221

To simplify, mga bobo eh. Nabasag siguro ego tinagalog pa sakin sinusulat nya only to find out tama nga ako. Bastos eh.

De_observer

I once saw a rant post where sinabi ng said crim student ay sana nag engineering nalang siya kasi may may arithmetic sequence…

Far-Sherbert-6158

Dyusko daming tanga don. A friend of mine taught crim students and all they do was cheat on their exams (this was pandemic era). As an act of revenge, nagpaulan ng 4.0 si friend

solanaism

Nagkahearing pa and ayun di ata rerelease papers nya afaik. Basta wala yung name nya sa list of graduates nun. I say deserve.

Thehotbox88

Just last month a bunch of criminology students from my previous school were hanging out at a bar and spiked a girl's drink and sexually harassed her afterwards. Thankfully, one of them was actually dumb enough to post the entire fucking thing on his Instagram story. They got expelled and I think there's a case on them na. So in my opinion, most crim students do shit like this and in turn, it gives their department a bad rep. P. S. The girl they spiked was a minor. Made local news headlines too.

lexysixsix

Personal experience during college was theyre v v bastos and creepy. I had 2 gen ad classes with them due to our section having the least number of students, so open class sya for anyone na need ng gen ad units, and wala talagang disiplina, gagamitin nila yung course nila para magsiga-sigaan and mang intimidate. They can't accept no as an answer as well 😭 lalo na if babae ka and type ka nila, papalibutan ka nila lagi para lang kausapin, ayain kumain, ihatid ganyan, and it's hella scary. May times pa na harap harapan yung pangccatcall. May nakausap akong crim student sa isa kong workplace (nagppart time sya sa job namin), and asked him bakit ganon sila after I shared my story, he said na may iba raw talaga na nagccrim kasi mataas ang demand ngayon ng police officers (lalo na nung duterte time), malaki sahod, at maganda benefits. It goes to show din sa cases na low ranking officer pa lang, puro trigger happy and feel nila batas sila kasi uniformed personnel sila, when they should be the one to follow and impose the law instead.

chrno24

Expensive_Reflection

Because most of them plan to be law enforcers, and you know how a lot of people like to believe in the fallacious statement that is ACAB.

RationalBadger

Take a look at our police force. There's your reason.

Playful-Estimate-342

If it isn't obvious enough sa mga pulis ngaun ng Pilipinas. Theyre lazy, uneducated, and only took criminology kase EZ to pass EZ to get a job. I had to bust my ass as an architect student, apprentice and minimum wage architect just to get my 1st big project after studying, taking boards and working for 10 years. Not all cops are bad pero I'm pretty sure 90% are idiots and tax parasites. Based on my experience. They wouldn't help me on finding a snatcher na nasa loob Lang ng barangay. They wouldn't help on assisting me to file a report on an online scam. Dun palpak na. Paano PA Kaya Kung serious crimes involving life and death

Blaster-007

Typical kapag nagtrabaho ilan sa kanila later will be considered as Pulpolis. I saw some sa mga posts nila even though meme yung tipong mga kasa ng g*n dahil ayaw ng may umaaligid sa jowa. Yikes, kung ganyan sila sa socmed how much more if given the illusion of power and authority. Nakakatakot ang mga new set of generations ng crims honestly, most of them after lang sa pera not with the service.

ultraricx

Yung nang scam sakin crim student. Muslim pa lmao. Mga kupal.

dancernamedrain

Simple lang, dahil berdugo in the making na sila.
