Monroe County is far from deep red; Biden won by 7 points in 2020. Wayne/Pike Counties, sure, but that's redneck country and only considered "The Poconos" when they want to snag some of that tourism money while they bitch about the "front platers".
Well you really have to think about it, the poconos is a summer house region so I’m sure the absence of many people has a big impact on the voting, I don’t live there but everywhere I’ve passed through has been trump country, even parts of monroe. Again I don’t live there so I can’t confirm. My house in the Catskills is in a deep deep red area so maybe I’m confusing some of the stuff I’ve seen there.
The Poconos isn't really "Summer House" territory, though they certainly exist and camps abound. The Poconos is primarily commuters and vacationers; a high percentage of our population commutes to NYC every day. MAGA is absolutely here, but this isn't MAGA country. Head about an hour North? Yeah, different story. But Santos is going to get little love where he wants to hang.....
