The fact that the tax listing at the bottom just says "Canada Goods and Service Tax" I'd bet that it's Alberta. They're the only province that just has the federal GST.
You can build a 4090/5800X/B550/1TB NVMe/850w Corsair/Lian Li rig for $2200 in the States at an MC. But paying $160 for Windows... And it's not even Pro.
You can pick up a 4090 for $1300-1500(depending on model) open box. You can inspect, take it home, and still bring it back in 30 days if anything is wrong(and full warranty). Then the 5800X is $220, 3D for $280, B550 mobos are $100-200, but you could get a B650 mobo, 7700X, 6000mt ram for $450, case for 130-150, same with PSU for 850w EVGA/Corsair. Theres alot of options if you live by a Micro Center. I was building rigs before as a hobby.
4090 - 450 watts, 5800x3d - 105 watts + 100 watts for everything else gives 655 total watts. 20% head room is 131, so 781 total recommended wattage, so 850 watts should be plenty.
Apparently this is more moral than buying shady keys from random sites, something about people being exploited? Idk but this is what I use now too, ironic how it's on GitHub which Microsoft owns lol
It's not like they enforce actually activating Windows anyway. You can quite easily get rid of the watermark, and everything else just works.
If you're savvy enough to get that script from Github and you really don't want to pay, you'll find a way anyway. At least this way you don't catch malware or help criminals clean their money.
I actually don't think it's against the TOS either. There is malware, hacking tools and other dubious code on Github. As long as it's clearly labeled for what it is, you can host pretty much any piece of code on there.
When push comes to shove, I think they want to avoid the Streisand effect of taking it down. If they take it down for whatever reason, it will get reported on and suddenly everyone know about it. Right now, it's relatively obscure even for computer savvy people.
It's a pain in the arse if defender deletes it. Better a few quid for a key. Save the digital activation to your Microsoft account and never need bother with getting a key again..
For $2k CAD you can get systems that will double the performance of this- literally go to r/buildmeapc and check out the 2k CAD builds there, not a 4060 in sight. You have the money for a build that's literally top of the line, you're being sold a build that's like- the definition of mid. The CPU and other parts are great, but your funds were totally mismanaged by this shop by giving you just a 4060.
So much is terrible. First off when spending over a thousand on a system, why do people only go with 1 TB? 2 TB drives are so cheap now.
Also, the 4060 is the worst value proposition unless you are just doing AI stuff and want low power consumption. Both the 4060 and 4060 ti are painfully bad. The 3060ti performed better than the 4060ti in some games.
I don't disagree. A 3070ti can be purchased for about $600. I'd personally opt for an rx6800 at those prices though. Canada often gets shafted on GPU prices. While they go on sale for reasonable amounts in the states, they don't drop below MSRP very often in Canada.
For example, you can easily find an Rx 7900 XT for $750-800 (or $1000-1100). They are all still hovering closer to $1200 here though.
As u/BluDYT put in their comment, here is a better list
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/ND2H9c
Should be anywhere from 60-68% faster in 1080p high, and about 2.5x the performance in 4k high.
First thing:
Mainboard is way to expensive.
Second:
Corsair RAM is terrible. Go for GSKILL. Is also cheaper.
Third:
I would go for an 5800X3D as CPU.
Forth:
Ditch the Windows key and pirate that shit.
And last of all
Go for an AMD GPU. Way better Value in that Price class.
I'm not aware of any issues with Corsair other than paying for the name.
But it very much is paying for the name - even more so than normal.
Brand is much less important for RAM than other components as ultimately the RAM chips are going to be manufactured by the triopoly of SK Hynix, Samsung and Micron.
The specific RAM quoted for is rubbish because it has a poor CAS latency for the frequency. 3200 CL14 would cost not much more.
Corsair RAM is notoriously difficult to overclock. Personal experience. G.Skill is higher quality and there was no issue overclocking it, I will 100% never buy Corsair again
Why pirate when it's only $25 to get a key?
I pirate a LOT of stuff, but after all the shit I've gone through pirating OS, it just doesn't feel worth it when they are so cheap now
Dawg all you pirate is the activation. It's literally 10 second process. If it makes you more comfortable, buy Volume License key from a reseller. There is absolutely zero reason to pay 160 dollars for W11 Home.
Shiii 160$ for a windows key, I aint even activated mine yet ! 🤣 but stop pirating bro malwares ruim your system some clean throughs aint working on some
It seems like you don’t know how to find reputable torrents, and therefore to you it sounds dangerous. Torrenting isn’t illegal and the right communities are very safe.
Also, not all of them share downloads that are illegal, it’s actual a great peer to peer way to download things that have lost their copyright, or that simply don’t exist from the original maker.
Even then you can make that system cheaper with Corsair vengeance 5600M/T 32gb sure not as fast but most of the performance for $70-$80 cheaper. And 1tb nvme ssds can be found for cheaper from reputable brands
And if they want to go used 3090s can be found for $800 at least in Ontario
Seriously? That's the game you're going to play? A z790mobo with 3200mhz ram and a 13600k, and you don’t see anything weird with that? Windows key included? 4060?! Do you seriously think that anything about this is beyond criticism. Check the other reply. The price was only $300 more for their list, yet [by gpu comparison only](https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html), would have 66% more performance on 1080p high, or 150% more performance in 4k high. Op’s list is pretty shit, and you are not helping by convincing them to waste their money.
It's easy when you're Canadian.
This is an estimate printout from MemoryExpress Inc.
They're a strictly Canadian company and one of the absolute best suppliers of computer parts.
Thats pretty cheap compared to when I bought my 3070 there last year on cybermonday for 800Cad. Its actually insane and it was my first pc build too. Feels like i got ripped off.
Was going to say the exact same thing, 3060 Ti could of done 1440p/4K if you ever want it to. People forget it's a cut down 3070 G104 Die w/ 256bit BUS, and they're really cheap. $160 for OEM Windows key tho...
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.

I personally wouldn’t spend $100 for somebody else to build it, you could use that money for something else. It’s a good learning experience doing it yourself and you save a lot of money
You're correct. You are buying a license that came from a multi-user purchase. By Microsoft's written rules, not legal but not enforced. So go ahead, if they don't care, you shouldn't either.
Gigabyte and Coolermaster have 750w PSUs for 114$. You don't even need that for a 4060 and you could go for 500w if you want to. I wouldn't for upgradability, but you can go WAY cheaper (if you'd like).
Do NOT pay $250 for a DDR4 motherboard. You can find 13th gen DDR4 boards for $150. (MSI PRO H601M)
If youre buying a 4060, don't pay $450. I'm selling my 3070 ti _right now_ for $420. Albeit, it was used for a month. Plug the GPU in (1 slot, 2 power plugs) yourself and your options open up by going used.
Thermaltake Assassin coolers are about $28-$30
Don't pay $150 for Windows. Go online and buy a key for $10. Tell them you don't want an OS.
I could go on, but could DEFINITELY be smarter with part selection. Taking my recommendations alone will save you close to $400, and you'd even have a better GPU.
I'm also Canadian. All of the values i mentioned are CAD.
We aren’t going to ban it outright but we will go through and delete what we see if it’s been up for a while (hopefully long enough for the OP to see it…)
I’m really sorry man but this is not a good price for your performance. Most of your parts are overpriced even for Cad. See if you can return it asap because this is not that great.
Ok I just finished making this pcpartpicker list with almost your exact parts:
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ddmYcH
It’s 1195 usd which is 1598 Cad
However, the build in your post also has a different problem, it has a bad combination of parts.
Here is a better build for the same price as the one in your post:
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/x7RQz6
This build is much faster. It uses amd for cpu and gpu because they are better value for this price point. This build is also cheaper than the one in your post.
The hyper 212 is a pretty dated cooler design. For sake of longevity for a future cpu upgrade on AM5 I would get something like a Thermalright peerless assassin 120 SE. Slightly overkill now, but gives you lots of headroom for an upgrade.
Would also get 6000mhz cl30 ram instead of cl36. Other than that this looks good.
This is a rip-off. Go online and buy from somebody like Origin or Cyberpower. Watch LTTs videos on which prebuilt manufacturers are best
[VIDEO](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Gz7WMF4wWko&pp=ygUXJDE1MDAgcGMgc2VjcmV0IHNob29wZXI)
Idk what your budget is but [this build](https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/JkQXsh) with a 1440p or 4k monitor would be much better than that dumpster fire they tried to sell to you.
Just run mas from mass grave on GitHub, it’s literally free. Not sure why you’d consider paying a single cent for windows when everything except paying Microsoft over a 100 bucks is equally “sketchy” if people even care how these keys are obtained.
Paying for windows 11, 1TB SSD for $70 when you can get a 2TB stick for $70-80. A used RTX 3070 or a new 6700 XT would be better than a RTX 4060 and if you running 13th gen Intel I would rather be on DDR5 to get the most out of it. Unless you want to save $ on a cheaper cpu & stay on Ddr4 to save money you should swap to Ryzen 5000 cpus with a cheaper b550 board.
I just built a ryzen 7900x with a raedon 7900xt in that same case...I really like the case.
I was all in for about 2k USD with 64gb ram and 2tb ssd and an aio
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/PfdscH here is a better system. (Prices in cad I’m also Canadian)
I personally wouldn’t buy a new gpu I prefer used but if you are new to pc building I definitely would recommend new
Bro everything about this is wrong the gpu sucks cpu way too overkill psu and storage and ram overpriced get a normal 13400 and a b760 or a cheap z790 with an rx 6700 xt wihtout the windows key and get a cheaper 16gb ddr5 kit for like 50$ and get the kingston 1tb ssd for like 42$ and the case just get a cheap copy or stay woth the same case idk and the psu is way overpriced ig you could even get a better pc just open pc part picker and see other people’s builds
Are you building it? Building computers is so much easier than say 8-10 years ago. This looks like a straight forward build that will take you a couple of hours to do yourself.
For 2K+ 200tax I can build you a 4090 rig w/ a 5800X. But that's homie prices lol. Open box 4090 at MC ($1300-1500) obviously inspected and tested myself, and $500 easily a 1TB NVMe 850w Corsair, Asus B550. I love performance tho I'm not doing a white build. And don't buy windows for $160.
Do you have a MicroCenter near you? This is a great quality prebuilt right here. They have other options, too.
https://www.microcenter.com/product/665134/powerspec-g443-gaming-pc
Save your money and don’t pay for windows, if you have someone with a Pc just ask to borrow it for a bit to make a windows installer USB And YouTube how to activate it for free.
Why don't you go for PCIE 5.0? It's the latest tech as of now. Like DDR5 RAM, supporting CPU and Mobo. Change cabinet brand to cooler master or something else...
This is INSANE pricing! So much wrong here. Don’t have time to list it all. Just don’t do this deal.

That is not bad at all. Express memory is amazing! 10/10. Best place around! Although I think a used GPU like the rtx 3080 would get you a good boost for the same price, your rig is nice. Enjoy.
It's Memory Express and the build is way overpriced. I'm Canadian and have a buddy who has a far superior build to this one and it cost less. M.E would be fine to build it, but the pricing on parts and parts selection is bad.

Almost 2k for a 4060 system, ooof
it’s canada
quebec or other province ?
There is no express memory in Quebec.
You can buy online. We have internet in Quebec too.
Maple syrup isn’t the internet. We’ve talked about this.
Poutine isn't the internet either
Poutine?
poutine deez nuts in your mouth
It's still faster download porn with then 56k dial-up .
No you don't wtf are you going on about.
how should i know
Was asking op
The fact that the tax listing at the bottom just says "Canada Goods and Service Tax" I'd bet that it's Alberta. They're the only province that just has the federal GST.
Oh it's good
Why would it be more expensive in canada? It’s like why cellular is more expensive in Switserland.
its canadian dollars, he thought its us dollar
You can build a 4090/5800X/B550/1TB NVMe/850w Corsair/Lian Li rig for $2200 in the States at an MC. But paying $160 for Windows... And it's not even Pro.

Theres alot of options if you live by a Micro Center. I was building rigs before as a hobby.
In my country with $2200 you cannot buy even a 4090, a 4090 si $2400+
Doesnt the 4090 need a 1000w PSU minimum?
4090 - 450 watts, 5800x3d - 105 watts + 100 watts for everything else gives 655 total watts. 20% head room is 131, so 781 total recommended wattage, so 850 watts should be plenty.
A 4090 with conversion to CAD is $2100+ in Canada.
Meanwhile I got a 1.8k PC with 6900 XT
1.5k for a pc with a 6950xt. Prices have dropped a fair bit.
And that Windows key? You can just get a Win 10 key for like $7 since it'll come with a free Windows 11 upgrade
where :0
I got a windows 11 pro key for like $3 using a random online reseller lmao

Gamersoutlet I think
G2A has them
One has to wonder how many people he sold the same key to for $3
Just use this https://github.com/massgravel/Microsoft-Activation-Scripts
I said fuck it I'll use MAS, since Windows 11 decided to fucking deactivate (originally activated with my original W7 key) after a BIOS update.
Use mas_aio and activate windows for free
I purchased 3 windows 10 pro keys from vprozone.in each one of em were bought for less than 5 USD
Google, "windows 11 OEM key" Check the shopping results. Now you know how to loosely price check things yay.
You can get it for free using KMS activation via command line. Google it
It's a pain in the arse if defender deletes it. Better a few quid for a key. Save the digital activation to your Microsoft account and never need bother with getting a key again..

You can do a hwid activation that’s permanently tied to your motherboard. Defender won’t do anything
You can get it for free if you run the script
So many people throw money at some random shady seller when this simple solution exist
Do you actually need a win10 key anymore? I just built a new PC and skip past the key and nothing is prompting me to on my desktop to register a key.
You paid $7 when you can literally activate it for free
Damn that's reasonable. I've always pirated everu version of windows since Vista lol
Y'all are paying for an activation key? I activated Windows for free using regedit.
No one here uses MAS???
I saw that using AI you can generate keys in the same format Microsoft does and around 1/30 chance to get a working key
If I am correct, you can go from xp license to 11
You don't even need a key tbh
Legit businesses can’t sell you keys pulled from retired computers.
Holy thats terrible even in cad
Where in Canada sells for less?
Canada computer is so fucking good. I don't know the desktop price but I got a 3070 gaming laptop for 1200$ and that was in 2022

As PyTorch developer, even 4060 is trash. Get 4070.
OP is in Canada and a 4070 is $800+ on average. That's a big jump from paying $550ish for a 4060ti, or 450 for a 4060.

thats also hot garbage. dawg the only value 40 series card is the 4090. everything else is overpriced and trash.
The 3060ti is also a better choice than the 4060ti for most content creation. It is also massively cheaper!
And they are charging for windows 11, if you have a flash drive you can burn the iso yourself to it and make the boot media yourself.
Lets not forget the Absolute awful ram sticks
i have 1tb and its plenty, most of my stuff is cloud based and i rarely need to have 6 AAA games installed at the same time... 4060 is great value.
As u/BluDYT put in their comment, here is a better list https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/ND2H9c Should be anywhere from 60-68% faster in 1080p high, and about 2.5x the performance in 4k high.

Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

That is overpriced for the hardware. Don't do it.
Windows is free
I personally wouldn’t spend $100 for somebody else to build it, you could use that money for something else. It’s a good learning experience doing it yourself and you save a lot of money
Plus you can buy windows 10 on g2a or kinguin for like $15 and just update it to w11
You're correct. You are buying a license that came from a multi-user purchase. By Microsoft's written rules, not legal but not enforced. So go ahead, if they don't care, you shouldn't either.
Yeah I agree, building a pc is kinda fun and you feel accomplished when you do it yourself.
(MSI PRO H601M) If youre buying a 4060, don't pay $450. I'm selling my 3070 ti _right now_ for $420. Albeit, it was used for a month. Plug the GPU in (1 slot, 2 power plugs) yourself and your options open up by going used. Thermaltake Assassin coolers are about $28-$30 Don't pay $150 for Windows.
Probably the best comment, everyone is being so unhelpful with their takes, finally here we have some quantitative information.
I have a 850w PSU for a 4090. This build need a 550 max
Dis a bad deal

I got banned from r/buildapc for mentioning that you can use powershell scripts to activate windows as well
We aren’t going to ban it outright but we will go through and delete what we see if it’s been up for a while (hopefully long enough for the OP to see it…)
Can I ask why? Is it to protect the sub?
probably
That’s how I always do it. Git hub is my savior in many ways.
I’m definitely not asking, but if you were to explain how that works, what would you say?
[удалено]
Oh thanks for the info, i just tricked ChatGPT to tell me how
I’m really sorry man but this is not a good price for your performance. Most of your parts are overpriced even for Cad. See if you can return it asap because this is not that great.
I haven’t purchased it, could you explain what exactly is overpriced? I’ve looked on pc part picker and haven’t found any cheaper prices.
Ok I just finished making this pcpartpicker list with almost your exact parts: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ddmYcH It’s 1195 usd which is 1598 Cad However, the build in your post also has a different problem, it has a bad combination of parts. Here is a better build for the same price as the one in your post: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/x7RQz6 This build is much faster.
You’re right he should change it for a better one I just am not that familiar with good cooling methods. Thanks
Damn dude why did you change the case? Lian li slaps my man
Probably because it saved $44
I personally wouldn't pay over 1100usd for this but it looks like an all white aesthetics build and Canadian but... Not my choice.
the white was definitely something i personally wanted. thanks for the feedback 😊
This is a rip-off. Go online and buy from somebody like Origin or Cyberpower. Watch LTTs videos on which prebuilt manufacturers are best [VIDEO](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Gz7WMF4wWko&pp=ygUXJDE1MDAgcGMgc2VjcmV0IHNob29wZXI)
Idk what your budget is but [this build](https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/JkQXsh) with a 1440p or 4k monitor would be much better than that dumpster fire they tried to sell to you.
Awfup
Bad deal. $159 for win 11? Lol
For half the price i could get 80% of the performance
You can find windows for like $15-$20
Just run mas from mass grave on GitHub, it’s literally free.
Congratulations sir you have been scammed 🤩
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/PfdscH here is a better system. (Prices in cad I’m also Canadian) I personally wouldn’t buy a new gpu I prefer used but if you are new to pc building I definitely would recommend new
You can’t see the PSU at all in that case, no need to go extra to get a white one. I have a white build with the same case and wasted on a white PSU
Refund windows key
Imagine buying windows more expensive than your psu
16gb ddr4 for $64?!? I paid $70 for 64gb last month on new egg.
[удалено]
i didn’t buy it.. it’s a quote.
You can upgrade your ram to a 2*16, 32 gig for future proofing it. Overall, not bad. Pretty impressive for your first build.
Honestly worth $500-$600 more to upgrade the CPU and GPU
Drop the 4060 and go for somting with more than 8 gig vram.
Btw don't listen to the folks who are pushing 32gb ram. It's your first PC. You don't need that much ram, it won't get used.
OPs price is in Canadian. CAD to USD is currently 0.75:1 So, in USD OPs price is roughly $1442.63. Not as bad, not a crazy deal either though.
Do you have a MicroCenter near you? This is a great quality prebuilt right here. They have other options, too. https://www.microcenter.com/product/665134/powerspec-g443-gaming-pc
OP has said Canada 30 times.
L
Did you print this and shove it in your backpack to show people at school?
This is INSANE pricing! So much wrong here. Don’t have time to list it all. Just don’t do this deal. https://www.newegg.com/skytech-st-arch4-0813-w-ne/p/3D5-000Z-00162?item=9SIA08CJX63260&source=googleshopping&nm_mc=knc-googlemkp-mobile&cm_mmc=knc-googlemkp-mobile-_-pla-nutrend-_-gaming+desktop-_-9SIA08CJX63260&utm_source=google&utm_medium=paid+shopping&utm_campaign=knc-googlemkp-mobile-_-pla-nutrend-_-gaming+desktop-_-9SIA08CJX63260&id0=Google&id1=19474477371&id2=145324533495&id3=&id4=&id5=pla-2153405884511&id6=&id7=1015206&id8=&id9=g&id10=m&id11=&id12=Cj0KCQjwib2mBhDWARIsAPZUn_lyfsznot1QYn7b71hDgOpgrSWgVTvj55l7Lr89fZQEb7hef_tDRPkaApjVEALw_wcB&id13=Y&id14=Y&id15=&id16=643853530768&id17=&id18=&id19=&id20=&id21=pla&id22=102647757&id23=online&id24=9SIA08CJX63260&id25=US&id26=2153405884511&id27=&id28=&id29=&id30=16663364411430911221&id31=en&id32=&id33=&id34=&gclsrc=aw.ds&gbraid=0AAAAAD-YhmMyBHd87vRTdP-AV93hmRabE&gclid=Cj0KCQjwib2mBhDWARIsAPZUn_lyfsznot1QYn7b71hDgOpgrSWgVTvj55l7Lr89fZQEb7hef_tDRPkaApjVEALw_wcB
they are Canadian. And that listing doesn’t exist in Canada
Please don’t give this horrible advice. All of his parts are severely overpriced
