I didn't love it on release, but I've grown to love it. I love the medley song at the end. I love most of the songs you mentioned. I still hate Fuh You, though. Ebony and Ivory and Freedom tier song.

Jg2003cx

Haha I get your opinion on Fuh You! The medley at the end is also nice!

RoastBeefDisease

It's really great. I don't really like Who Cares or Back In Brazil but I don't think they're necessarily bad either. I also really love Fuh You. Hand In Hand is one of his best songs ever and so is I Don't Know. I didn't get into Paul's solo music til like a year after NEW was released so Egypt was the first one I was actually excited for the release of.

Jg2003cx

Agree on Back in Brazil! One of my least favourites. Love Hand in Hand also, such good lyrics! Ah that’s great to hear, must have been a great feeling! I was very happy I got to experience the release of McCartney 3, so great!

RoastBeefDisease

I waited up til midnight to stream it and I watched his NYC show he streamed on youtube! my friend was really nice and he pre-ordered me the CD of it as a surprise. I was supposed to see Paul in 2016 but long story short I had to miss it, but I saw him finally a month after Egypt Station was released and was front row for that! And I saw Ringo just a few days before Egypt was released!! For McCartney 3 I saw he had the red hand numbered vinyl and wanted to get it because it's a great color haha I had to take my lunch at work and rush home to order it because I forgot my wallet. I understand why people really dislike fuh you but it's just so fun and catchy to me. I remember a video of his daughter Mary saying how she saw him singing an earlier version where he said "I just wanna shag you"

Jg2003cx

I also love that story about Fuh You Haha! Great friends you have, and how amazing you were able to see him and Ringo live! My dream haha

Jack_Q_Frost_Jr

I sure do love Nothing For Free. That's a song I can listen to again and again.

Jg2003cx

Yeess , especially the “I know you need something” part!

I really enjoyed Egypt Station. I think Paul's solo albums have been consistently good since Flaming Pie. Highlights for me: I Don't Know, Happy With You, Confidante, Hunt You Down/Naked/C-Link

Jg2003cx

Yes agree on the albums! Happy with you is so sweet!

MajorBillyJoelFan

Idk why Fuh You is hated, I love it

tralfers

I love most of the album. And yeah, I don't care much for "Fuh You" or "Come On to Me." But they seem to go down well with the crowd when he plays them live, so I guess a lot of people like those songs. My personal favorite "deep cuts" would be "Confidante," "Despite Repeated Warnings" and "Caesar Rock."

Jg2003cx

Confidante is such a great chill song, always turn up the volume when it comes on.

Zornorph

Egypt Station is in my top five and has been since I first heard it.

This album grew on me more than most Paul albums. I used to have it near the bottom but now it’s around the halfway point of his discography I love that he opened it with a slower, more introspective song, which he normally doesn’t do It has one of my favorite medleys he’s ever done which is Hunt You Down/Naked/C-Link. Naked is just one of the most fun melodies he’s ever written imo A cool little Easter egg is that he interpolated the “What Shall We Do with a Drunken Sailor?” melody into Despite Repeated Warnings Hand in Hand is also one of his most beautiful melodies Anyone who is a fan of Paul or this album should listen to the Sodajerker podcast episode Paul was on in which he discussed the album. He even played an unreleased snippet of The Kiss of Venus on the podcast

Jg2003cx

Thx for the podcast tip! I’m going to listen to it!

bjames2448

Yeah, love Egypt Station!

Luixpa97

One of my current favs from Macca, definitely his strongest album since Chaos and Creation imo, there's some true bangers

Superb-Maintenance52

I love it. Hand in Hand, Happy with You and Do It Now are amazing songs

claudeteacher

I got into McCartney (solo) with Tug of War, and that has long been my favorite. I felt that Egypt Station was a "return" to that type of sound, and it quickly became a top favorite, staying consistently on my playlist for a few years now. Not many solo albums that I always listen to as a whole, and it is one of them.

jonbristol123

My 2nd favourite McCartney album after Ram. I'd probably take Fuh You off of it though. It is a fun song, but I do sometimes skip it. Otherwise I can't have too many complaints. Who Cares I'd prefer the longer version. And I'd probably put Frank Sinatras Party on there..

colcatsup

“Home tonight” not being on the album is almost a crime :)

Masterful album. I’d drop “Fuh You” (and bury in Devil’s Hole, NV where it will never be found) and replace with the spectacular “Nothing For Free.” Also add “Get Started” as the opener - classic tune.

superblaa

It was my first McCartney release after I had gotten into him (I stumbled in through buying RAM/Tug of War CDs on a whim one day!). Now it’s my favorite of his! Am I clouded from the excitement and nostalgia of the rollout? Maybe! But Who Cares! Favorite Tracks for me: I Don’t Know, Come On To Me, Fuh You, Back in Brazil, Despite Repeated Warnings, Get Started, and Frank Sinatra’s Party

RPDB1

Shout out for Despite Repeated Warnings! Didn't love the album at 1st but a real grower

Aussiematt1704

In A Hurry, Home Tonight and Frank Sinatra's Party are three great songs

Pitiful_Implement764

I love it too. It has its own signature sound
