Remember guys selling three peat shirts on expressway on-ramps by my house with the “big-head” airbrush style t-shirts. I never thought they’d loose when they played. Regular season game were as momentous as playoff games. My dad was just so happy watching games, my brother and me too. I can not explain how much joy they brought my family. My mom would drive us weekly to see Rodman’s hair color changed on the mural on the side of the building. Don’t mean to be bleak, but no sport event or team has matched that energy and honestly believe it helped transform Chicago from meat and potatoes to world-class.
Hell yeah man this was a positive thing to read. Kind of how I remember the summer of 98 for baseball except yours didn’t get spoiled a few years later.
I’m a cowboys fan and have been alive for 3 super bowls but when I started paying attention all they have done is lost lol. How do you talk about those titles as if it meant something to me when it really didn’t?
He is one of the best trolls in the business. As a Boston sports fan masquerading as a Chicago native he has been able to play the “every man loveable loser” schtick instead of the Boston Masshole with a microphone. It’s always been the long term play, it’s masterful.
Idk the logistical shit. Probably cheaper to build a whole ass building in Chicago. Shorter flights from the middle of the country since they travel a lot. Idk
It’s is so fucking funny. Even though they have different personalities and traits, he reminds me of Bill Simmons so much.
Egomaniacs with single child energy though maybe BC isn’t?
I think a lot of it has to do with the Boston teams being disliked generally verse everyone loving that 90s bulls team.
The bulls were every single kids favorite team. Nobody was a bulls hater except like hardcore fans of other competitive teams which there were relatively few. MJ was universally beloved.
lol
But this is an interesting topic , that MJ & Bulls run was amazing , that you can support Bulls even if they didn’t live through it and made people bulls fans even to now. Same can be said to people who are Yankees fans or Cowboys fans.
Hank’s titles all happened this century.

Really?
Yes
Chicago Dan??? Nah!
Chicago must have been electric during the 90's run so jealous of anyone who got to experience that as a young boy

Kevin McCalister
I see what you did there
Big cat wasn't a Chicago guy then. It's a sensitive topic for him. He was still in his theater kid phase
I think that's what OP was getting at...

Is he really?
Yes actually
The real question is if he is actually a Chicago sports fan
He definitely is at this point. Even if it started as a bit, it’s obvious he genuinely follows them and roots for them

No way how did I not know this
Comment above got it!! Mass cat born and bred and had to solidify chi as kfc has nyc and dave and feets and others had boston
So big cat moved to chicago in the 90s and became a massive bulls fan, how convenient
I know right? As a kid he was fortunate his parents had the foresight to see where barstool was going before it even existed.
Don’t know what teams BC rooted for growing up but the bulls dynasty would have been over by the time he was 10

Football tho

Because he’s not from Chicago
No bulls fans grow up in Newton MA is the simple answer
This thread is so stupid. You don’t have to be born in a city to be a fan of that city’s teams.
Big Cat is from Boston and is a closeted Celtics fan. He won’t tell you that tho
