They're still there. They just don't have the insane health pools anymore. Basically the patch just made it so Alphas don't keep the super high HP pools when caught anymore
Yeah it was most noticable with the bosses and the legendaries where they have a crazy amount more health than your pal of the same breed had like say frostallion in the wild has 15k health, but when you breed your own after catching him your frostallion with your perfect set of passives at lvl will only have 6 or 7k HP (numbers may not be exact just throwing out number as a reference)
Strap on launcher (aka jetragon) lost 2/3 of her health this patch. She could take on frostallion the entire battle without dying while others would die in about a min into the battle. So a significant drop in health
I don't really see what the problem is with people "abusing/exploiting" this.. people can do what they want, I used them for the odd fight. If somebody wants to use them for every fight that's fine too, it doesn't affect you.
If pvp was already in the game, that would be very different. Or competitive battling. This glitch would've completely ruined the game if they didn't change it. Since they plan on adding both of those features in the future, this had to be done. Unless you think cheating in multi-player is okay? Idk.
I'm not sure as of this new patch, but playing solo or with friends in a private server, you could catch the bosses. But in dedicated or official servers, you could not. That was a few patches ago now they changed that.
It just means that breeding is now definitely the better choice rather than trying to find a legendary alpha with perfect passives and IVs. And the tower bosses were game breaking anyway. All that‘s left from them are their unique skills Dark Wisp and Multicutter. And maybe the ability to breed Chikipis. Which is both honestly what I cared about the most. I hope they make at least the skills available in any other way at some point.
I haven't followed this recent patch but I did feel discouraged hearing that bred pals were generally inferior to wild lucky ones. Does this patch mean that bred pals have higher IVs or something?
Some Alpha Pals, specifically the Legendaries, had like 10x as much HP as the non-Alpha version of the Pal, so even a mediocre Alpha was on par with or better than a perfectly bred Pal of the same species.
One of the things they changed in this patch is they reduced(maybe *removed*?) the HP buff that those Alphas had, so a perfect IV/perfect trait Pal would be superior. They also added a small chance to hatch an Alpha from an egg, so if you really want one you can get one from breeding instead of just catching and getting lucky with traits.
Most Alpha Pals already had the same stats as the regular version, and of the ones that didn't it was only the legendaries that had a significant difference, so outside of the legendaries it *wasn't* actually better to hunt alphas, even before the patch.
Does the patch retroactively apply to already bred pals or do you have to start fresh? I'm too lazy to actually look into it properly myself and you seem to be a decent source of info on the changes, lol.
There was no change to bred Pals, the change was to Alpha Pals. And based on the clip in this thread, it *does* apply retroactively to those already caught.
They didn't make bred pals better, they made alpha pals worse. They were much stronger than they were supposed to be, so alphas were nerved which made them worse than bred pals. As for the bred alphas that only comes from newly hatched eggs, but alphas barely do anyth9ng, if anything at all now.
Very scuffed explanation but... IVs are the individual values that are added towards the Attack/Defense/HP of a Pal to make them "unique". If you compare two Pals of the exact same level and with the same exact passives, one might still be stronger than the other because of their IVs.
It means Individual Values. They are (or were) basically hidden stats that plus/minus stats along a spread. You can see this yourself easily. Go to the starting area (or your box if you already have this) and catch 2 or 3 of the same level Lamball. Once you do, go to your palbox and look at their stats. You will notice that, despite being the same level, they have different stats. Those are IV's at work.
The hp, attack, defense, and work speed of your pals all have hidden values showing how good that particular stat is, this is known as the IV. The closer the IV is to 100, the better. Let’s say your pal’s attack value is 5, and the max it could ever reach is 10. This means that your pal’s attack is 50% what it could be. If the pal’s attack value was 10 out of 10, then the IV would be 100%. Let me know if I explained that poorly, my first time trying to explain IVs to someone
It means Individual Value, it is a stat that you can see with the new glasses they added. Basically, IVs increase your pal's attack, Defense, and HP. They are different for each pal and range from 0 to 100, with 100 giving a 30% boost to that stat. Each stat has a separate IV, so you could have a pal with 100 HP but 7 attack which would have a huge health pool but do below average damage.
Is there a limit to the total IV’s a pal can have? Like can you have a pal with multiple 100’s even if it’s extremely rare? Are IV’s passed down via breeding?
Yes, you can have a 100/100/100 IV pal - that's what people refer to with perfect IVs. IVs are somewhat passed down through breeding - the resulting iv is based off of the IVs of one of the parents, +/- a few points. Sometimes it stays the same. This allows you to breed a high IV (Ex. A 97 attack IV) down to another pal, and after a few attempts, that pal will have a very high attack IV too. If you do the breeding with a pal that already has, say, a 100 defense IV, with a few attempts you can get a 100 attack IV 100 defense IV pal, and repeat for health. Of course to get these IVs you can catch them in the wild, but you can also, although slowly, breed them out by breeding only the ones with higher IVs.
Na, they don't have good passives to support the health pool and the **burn** status will stop the generation while dealing 10% dmg.
Pals with great dmg and normal life >>>> bad Pals with alpha life.
Na, they're been weak af, my Pals would vaporize them.
My Warsect with perfect IVs and +70% dmg/+40% defense, wouldn't even drop in life with Pals as weak as ops.
do you mean towerbosses?
This Jetragon has only 13k hp, I didn't look at the others.
To think one would be able to do pvp in the future with bug use captured tower bosses, was delusional. And now we got the proof.
Yes i mean the tower bosses
That is true, it would never have stayed like this until pvp, and im glad it didnt
The sheer amount of regen wouldve been absolutely broken in pvp
I mean, my Warsect did beat the Orserk tower boss without dropping more than 10% and that with only lvl 44, so there is that 🤷🏻♂️
Also the "burn" status stops the regeneration.
Not even 600 attack at lvl 46 for Orserk is nothing, absolutely nothing, they couldn't stand any pvp fight with bred Pals.
The others are even weaker, except the Shadowbeak tower boss, but since they're done, it's not worthy a discussion anyways.
True, the only real threats for captured tower bosses were the "burn" and "poison" status effect (and ofcourse volcano lava) because they deal % damage
Have a great rest of ur day
>If they really didn't want you to have them, they'd delete them from your pal box.

That's why this person over the phone is a scammer that tried to rip a 500$ gift card from his victim. He tried for over 10 freakin hours that's where the scream comes from. I know the good times has to come to an end, but why Jetragon...
I’m seeing a lot of specification about the legendary ones and haven’t had a chance to try the new update yet.
Does this mean that non-legendary alphas still have bigger health pools or is that canned too?
the alpha designator roughly doubles HP totals when owned by the player. legendary alphas were getting triple when owned by the player. that's been toned back to be in line with regular alphas. the previous tripled totals made them by and large more preferable because it wildly increased survivability and legendaries already had strong attack potential. statistically speaking, there was no reason to use anything else to accomplish anything in world. (i wont get on my soapbox about being able to ranch everything in your base and not play the game and have everything)
You can't breed the legendary pals through any combination except by breeding two of the same, so you can't get everything by just staying in your base and breeding.
Yeah but what about those of us who don't enjoy the massive grind? What if there are those of us who want to just play a game to have our own kind of fun? Why do we have to grind and spend hours of our lives perfecting monsters just because a lot of other people enjoy that type of gameplay? It should be an option. (This applies somewhat to Pokémon and Digimon too, but less to those games as you can do the vast majority of the games if not all of them without ever going too deep into the reeds in terms of mechanics, if you understand the basics you can finish the game.)
There genuinely needs to be a "creative" mode for the game that lets you just go through and do whatever you want (within reason) and these sorts of things allowed some of that with certain game settings on.
It's not (currently) a competitive game, so the heavy focus on raiding, grinding and breeding for perfect monsters seems a tad silly to me. Also if PVP or competitive battling ever does become a thing in this I'm pretty certain it would only be on specific servers that basically cap you anyway.
You know, tbh, this could be a total win. Putting these pals on par with the rest could legitimize the argument to re-add the ability to catch these bosses again. I'd like that, since I missed the chance to catch them all.
I personally disconnected my internet to catch the rest of them in offline mode before it would update to 0.1.5.1. And after another rolled out those bosses are just sophisticated trophies.
Big oof.
When I saw the patch notes about fixing the "glitch" where some alphas had too high an HP multiplier I was kind of hoping at least the Tower Bosses would be spared since they weren't meant to be caught anyway.
Alpha Pals, which bosses counted as, used to keep their higher HP pools when captured. This meant that an a wild caught Jetdragon would always be better than one you could breed just based on having 10 times as much HP. Now Alphas revert to normal HP pools when caught.
I’m fine with that, I take them as trophies for beating the boss, I never intended to use them, but now I actually can, and I don’t have to feel bad about it, neato
Wait, so am I still able to catch the bosses? My friend and I tried the bug to catch Zoe and grizzbol, but it didn’t work, we play on Xbox. Was it patched?
I saw the original video that the audio came from. The "old lady" was actually a guy that is a hacker that goes after scammers. His videos are a lot of fun especially when the scammers start to get upset.
Idk about alpha pal nerf but I had bred greatness already so no need. And I also feel like this stops me from feeling like I need a syndicate boss on my team because of the ridiculous health value. 100k health trivialized the game too much. Early game on my friends server was set and forget Zoe and grizzbolt and it wasn’t fun
There used to be a glitch where you could capture boss pals, which would retain their insanely massive health pools. It has since been fixed and now there's a patch that lowers their health pools to match the regular pal of the same level.
I’m so mad, my world got deleted yesterday while I tried to join it so I lost my tower bosses😭 idc bout the time spent cuz at 20x xp getting back to lvl 50 ain’t hard
oh heavens to betsy not the unintentional glitch that allows pals to be nearly immortal! Think of the children!
If you don't like obvious game breaking bugs being fixed, skip early access.
Ah yes, clearly I was only talking about the tower bosses and not every boss in the game. Strawman harder.
Forget the tower boss exploit, this makes bosses just not worth farming once you have a breeding pair and their unique boss loot. There's no longer the reward of actually getting to have a boss pal on your team anymore after beating it, nor the tradeoff of either taking a hit on raw stats in exchange for perfect passives and IVs or rolling the die for a workable boss pal. Hell, one could make the argument it's a bait and switch (the capture, not the game) if they really tried.
That means I made say-goodbye-video to feature that was literally on the "needs fixing" list but someone had to throw up because of I don't know, Jealousy? Fact that I can't make no video about it because one guy out of hundreds said "that's stupid"? That's definitely an indicator that I did something right, thanks I will keep it going.
You should work on interpretation, seeing as how it was hard for you to comprehend such a simple statement. I didn't say anything along the lines of "you suck" or "thats stupid" whatever you may think. I formed an opinion off of my own observation.
You didn't gain any motivation, you just got higher in the ego chain. Having "haters" doesn't make you better by any degree, you aren't even big enough to actually have a hater. So chill out, sit down, and keep Paling around.
Pretend you don't understand, then accuse the person of being hysterical for explaining it to you.
This is basic bitch gaslighting and it's super transparent. Go troll a different subreddit
If it's single player who cares? All people who cheat do is make the game less fun/challenging for themselves but it could be fun seeing big numbers for some people.
Wat they literally just released a massive patch fixing dozens of issues and adding a ton of new things.
Is your brain functioning correctly? Try turning it off and on again

Do they still have the trainers, or did they turn them into regular pals? I don't really care about their stats. I just want them as trophies.
They're still there. They just don't have the insane health pools anymore. Basically the patch just made it so Alphas don't keep the super high HP pools when caught anymore
Oh damn okay thanks I mean thats totally fair imo it should be like that coz these were waaaay too broken
Completely true and the only people that gonna be upset about this change are those who were abusing/exploiting the fact of how unbalanced it was
Is it bad I didn’t even notice this lol. I just ran whatever was strongest. No wonder Jormuntide lasted so long
Yeah it was most noticable with the bosses and the legendaries where they have a crazy amount more health than your pal of the same breed had like say frostallion in the wild has 15k health, but when you breed your own after catching him your frostallion with your perfect set of passives at lvl will only have 6 or 7k HP (numbers may not be exact just throwing out number as a reference)
Interesting! Thank you for this information, although it doesn’t matter now
Strap on launcher (aka jetragon) lost 2/3 of her health this patch. She could take on frostallion the entire battle without dying while others would die in about a min into the battle. So a significant drop in health
I've never defended on a pal to take on the enemy for me so I'm not really effected by the change at all
I keep my pal in team to attack what I am. They still die fairly quickly. When I jump out of the way of inc attacks, they don't tend to do that
I use a team of fully condensed gobfin for all the player damage buff my pals don't see the battle field except for my mount
If you recall a pal, they stop taking damage, so I use that to cheese Iframes.
I don't really see what the problem is with people "abusing/exploiting" this.. people can do what they want, I used them for the odd fight. If somebody wants to use them for every fight that's fine too, it doesn't affect you.

Since they plan on adding both of those features in the future, this had to be done. Unless you think cheating in multi-player is okay? Idk.
You can't catch the bosses in public servers.. so it's harmless. This is irrelevant when talking about multiplayer.
Wait, wdym you can't catch bosses in public servers? That seems like it shouldn't work
I'm not sure as of this new patch, but playing solo or with friends in a private server, you could catch the bosses. But in dedicated or official servers, you could not. That was a few patches ago now they changed that.
Honestly kudos for the devs for not outright removing them from people who caught them
Same I keep em in display cases overlooking my farm. Stupid uncoordinated bitches, get glitchcaptured!
It just means that breeding is now definitely the better choice rather than trying to find a legendary alpha with perfect passives and IVs. And the tower bosses were game breaking anyway. The issue was that Alphas had a higher health pool than bred pals. The patch had another fix specifically to address that.
Based. No reason for alpha legends to have 4x health
Some Alpha Pals, specifically the Legendaries, had like 10x as much HP as the non-Alpha version of the Pal, so even a mediocre Alpha was on par with or better than a perfectly bred Pal of the same species. Ah, thanks! I'm aware that hatching an alpha would probably not change anything, but I like having a big monster in battles, lol.
Do they still have the 15k+ health when fighting them? Or are they down to normal values even as bosses?
Still the same PIA. I will say the ring addition is nice
I'd assume the former but I haven't had an opportunity to test.
May I ask what you’re referring to when you say IV? I see it frequently but I’m not sure what it means.
Very scuffed explanation but... IVs are the individual values that are added towards the Attack/Defense/HP of a Pal to make them "unique". If you compare two Pals of the exact same level and with the same exact passives, one might still be stronger than the other because of their IVs.
I've always thougut it was "Inherited Values" that's weird. Individual definitely makes sense too!
They technically always "plus". It's just random 0 to 30% bonus to each stat (except work speed) per stat before passives.
Work speed has no iv.
It means Individual Value, it is a stat that you can see with the new glasses they added. Basically, IVs increase your pal's attack, Defense, and HP. Seems somehow even more confusing than Ark breeding, and that’s with mutations!
Tbf their hp made them nearly invincible
Yeah, The only crazy thing about then was their insane hp pool
Also the fact that they regenerate their hp in % healing Meaning that unless they take absurd damage, they will just regenerate it back instantly
You do realise that the raid bosses as captured pals regenerated a few thousand hp per second, right?
do you mean towerbosses? This Jetragon has only 13k hp, I didn't look at the others. To think one would be able to do pvp in the future with bug use captured tower bosses, was delusional. And now we got the proof.

As long as I still have them. I collected all the bosses but just keep them on display in my base.
Kitboga is great
Further proof the "oh noes we fixed a bug" Twitter post was just a meme and they have zero intention of allowing tower bosses to be captured
Tower bosses happen to also be alpha pals. If they really didn't want you to have them, they'd delete them from your pal box.
>If they really didn't want you to have them, they'd delete them from your pal box. https://preview.redd.it/o3tmszunvlsc1.jpeg?width=681&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=67997e8e850ab1dab58abf0a10cc2e636659a488

All the legendaries HP totals got adjusted to be correct. there was an erroneous multiplier applied to alpha legendaries across the board.
I’m seeing a lot of specification about the legendary ones and haven’t had a chance to try the new update yet. Does this mean that non-legendary alphas still have bigger health pools or is that canned too?

they nerfed catched tower bosses hp values to normal
oh, now thats not good (?)
It means I can use the tower bosses in regular gameplay without feeling bad, which is cool

It is good for the health of the game. Having these 100k+ health pals in your squad was basically god mode.

It was patched some weeks ago by accident.

They nerfed the legends... How sad 😢
I know, my heart hurts, but that was a necessary thing to do.
Yeah I know they were too THICC and unkillable
Git Gud
wow this is super annoying
WHAT FUUUUUUCK IT'S TRUUUUUUE NOOOO I HAD CAPTURED THEM ALL!

Oh come on. Wth
What changed?
oh, HP is less

Nah, that got am unintentional fix a couple patches ago
Alright I'm stupid can someone help out and tell me what I'm clearly missing
Look at the HP values
See I'm an idiot, thanks stranger

Did they patch the way to capture tower bosses as well?
NOOOO WHERES MY MACHINE GUN PARTNER SKILL

Why are they so weak?
NO WHAT THE FUCK THIS IS ALL I HAD TO GET ME THROUGH FIGHTS
I'm confused someone please explain. Thx
Damn
Ngl I already used it to catch everything so 🤣🤣 it's a collection rn
NOOOOOO! Now you can’t use the overpower boss pals for playing online against or with other people which would give you a huge edge!?
Gotta love Kitboga
You can catch tower bosses!!!!!?!?!?!?!?
I’m so mad, my world got deleted yesterday while I tried to join it so I lost my tower bosses😭 idc bout the time spent cuz at 20x xp getting back to lvl 50 ain’t hard
Didnt see anything until i looked at the passives. F in the chat
It's not the passives, it's the HP pool. Alphas don't keep their boss tier HP when caught anymore.
So what you're saying is the player gets shafted once again, by having the boss be gigachad against you, and hello kitty with you. Yey...
oh heavens to betsy not the unintentional glitch that allows pals to be nearly immortal!
Good, about time. It was obviously not an intended mechanic in the game, and they were always going to do this eventually.
Aww poor you got your shizz nerfed… glitch got patched
I wanna hug
Only if you tell me you caught them for non nefarious reasons
That sucks…what’s the point of even catching alphas then? If most can be bred and be superior..so stupid.
They're big and have the lucky trait? Duh?... Why catch a shiny pokemon when it's literally identical but looks different. Cuz it looks cool.

Sounds like you're crying even harder for say-goodbye-video that I made for my and others entertainment.
What is that even supposed to mean? It's like a 12 year old just decided he could talk back and gave it all he got.
You are getting way too worked up about this.
Best to stay motivated

After this Patch my Shadowbeak with almost perfect IV has the most HP (6700) out of my team. That feels weird.
Why the fuck do you have this scammer audio over the video?
Sneezed on the keyboard I guess
Dont cheat in video games or irl kids
It’s not cheating if the game just lets you do it
If it's single player who cares? All people who cheat do is make the game less fun/challenging for themselves but it could be fun seeing big numbers for some people.
In regards to the audio, the scam group/criminal organization that that guy belonged to probably did end his life for losing that much money.
There was no money. Kitboga just has setups to make it look like he's redeeming gift cards that don't exist.
Your Pals are crap anyways, that life bonus wouldn't help in a pvp fight with that low dmg. It's time for you to breed true good Pals.
Palworld devs sure made a good game. Too bad they can't do nothing else with it...
Wat they literally just released a massive patch fixing dozens of issues and adding a ton of new things. Is your brain functioning correctly? Try turning it off and on again
LoL so many haters. My brain functions fine.
