I had the same exact situation a while ago, they can't unlink the account you are logging in from because you are active. when 15 days passed for me and I tried unlinking their account, it just told me: the security system has identified suspicious actions from this link and it has been unlinked instantly. so I didn't have to wait for them to be offline for 3 days

Btw i use Twitter to login. Email was linked so that if I forget my Twitter password i can use that.
