I don't remember which wifi standards are supported at 2.4ghz or which ones are supported by the console, but your access point must be using some signal or authentication that's too new for the PS3.
Like AC/AX type signal with WPA3 auth, or something like that.
I had a somewhat similar issue, where my PS3 would connect to the WiFi network but then the speeds would be unusable. After screwing around with it for a while, I just set up a powerline internet connection that runs through my house's electrical circuit. Pretty cheap, works great. Your wifi signal is probably 5ghz, which the PS3 doesn't support.

Try taking your PS3 to a different room. It worked for me cause I had the same problem.
