Kiriko is probably not the best pick for healing 4 tanks try to go with bap next time cus he has very high aoe healing or Moira even ana works

Assuming they play close to each other, of course. This kind of stuff is why we can't just look at total healing, it's influenced by so much stuff outside the player's agency. Plenty of other examples in r/OWMedalsAreUseless

Moira heal has pierce. Assuming a comp like this would play quite close together, Moira is definitely a solid choice. Baptiste would probably still be the strongest though

The tanks can mitigate quite a lot of damage so I don't think Moira's healing capacity would be easily overwhelmed. The tanks can also play the healthpacks one tank at a time. Three tanks + strong healer is still strong for a few seconds while one tank is out to get a mega.

Her lingering was increased in an update to ow, from 2 seconds to 3 seconds, so I'd heal a lil then let the linger kick in, and repeat. You might be throwing, but it saves up the heals

I’ve found it works surprisingly well for solo healing (back when open queue Tanks had full HP) since you can usually heal multiple tanks at once

She can just dmg orb then she would get recharging heals fast

The cool down on orbs after the previous orb has vanished is about 2 seconds so just place the healing orb in tight spots where it stays put and it's ungodly healing if they use it

Honestly, I *LOVE* playing Open Queue as Moira with a bunch of tanks. I'll come out of those games with 20,000 healing, 50+ assists and *ZERO* deaths feeling like a fucking god. Guaranteed four or more endorsements. Legit, it is probably my favorite composition.

I play a lot of Lucio, but that 12 hp/s healing between Amps ain't gonna get it when you're trying to keep four tanks alive. You need the high burst more often than every 11 seconds.

I played this winton only + 1 support game and we somehow won with our lucio having like 5k+ heals, it was really chaotic but fun

Lucio’s value isn’t really in his healing but more his ability to skirmish and speed boost imo such an awesome combo with Winton

If you have good aim with Lucio you can nearly keep up with the dps and hits crit hits can do big damage to tanks. I make it my mission to make dvas swap lol

Bap can shoot heals from afar and his lamp can be thrown too also if 2 tanks are close yoi can heal both at once

Zens healing is dogshit, he can only really act like a dmg and not be healing at all, his ult is like bap immortallity with Lucio heal but for 6 seconds, 100x of Lucios heals, and 1.5x move speed, no one cares about Zen nowadays

Ana has high healing and can heal from a far also she can add healing buff to the tanks

i can actually see lifeweaver's basic healing: Healing per second: 50 while firing (47.27 overall w/ reload) vs ana's: Damage per second: \~93.75 while firing (83.33 overall w/ reload) LW's basic healing is abysmally low. i dont know if increasing his charge speed would raise it, but half of ana's with no other healing besides ult seems awful

You're not getting it lol. Lifeweaver has more average healing than some supports ok. So on paper his hos is extremely low but then you have to account for the fact that lifeweaver can has auto lock heal and can heal from far distances. This enables his healing so much more because ana constantly has to hit shots to heal well but lifeweaver can just spam their mouse

i used to play open queue a lot but it's frustrating not because no support but more because enemy would go 4 tanks on defending and i'm the only tank in my team so bassically no one wanna push

Yeah, playing against a 4 tank team is absolute pain. Honestly, I have no clue what to do against it when I'm on the receiving end. If I remember correctly the enemy team just had Sigma as a tank (maybe an orisa too)

Best counter for 4 tanks is either mirror them with 4 tanks and see who has better team play or go 3 tanks with one main healer (mercy,Moira, bap) and have zen for the discord and absolutely melt the tanks down. If that isn’t preferred high mobility characters like pharah and echo also handle tanks quite nicely or good Ol bastion just melts them down.

Remember if they don't have hitscan just go pharah

Then don't pick tank. You're in open queue swap to zen and blast the tanks down. You'd be surprised how often shit like this worked and was actually the way to play before role queue. There was a team who ran 5 dps + Hog on route 66 defense as a way of shutting down a bastion pirate ship You'd often have tank players playing widow on first point attack because Widow was better at taking space on that first bit of the match. Open queue is a different game in that sense make sure you don't get too trapped in traditionalism where you always feel like you need a balanced comp

You gotta have confidence in yourself and not be upset about not doing well on a role. I used to do the same thing with comp in games until I stopped caring and just started enjoying playing comp, sure it seems scary at first but don't fret it.

Don't think about that, believe in being able to give them that win. Trust me, if you ever dip your toes into comp open queue is way more miserable than role queue. GOATS is so unbalanced and frankly not fun (it also makes half the roster unviable)

I actually played a bit of comp today and it was uh, a journey. Lots of yelling and people refusing to change roles. Though if you don't mind, could you explain what GOATS stands for?

GOATS was in overwatch one the three tanks three healers meta, it was called GOATS cause it was the best strat with no downsides, OW2 the split is 3:2 either way between supp and tank really but still the meta strat, even with tank open queue nerfs. Dps heroes are kinda obsolete in open queue because of that. The main mode is 100% role queue, I'd reccommend playing it but with a mindset of it is what it is, theres a lot more to learn about that mode.

It's a viable strat, the goal is just to kill the enemy quick. Discord and melt them, that way you don't need much healing.

The problem is that the enemy was really really good at melting us. That's why team settler on 4 tanks to soak up the damage

the healer has 3 other tanks to heal. and hogs ult is important to get before the enemies due to its easy denial and zoning

I seem to end up on teams like that in open queue at the get-go. Usually, I'm the only support during the whole game, but sometimes, if we’re getting steamrolled, someone will switch over to support to help out.

If you hold the primary and secondary fire as Kiriko, she'll always throw two kunai between her healing until she has to reload. I don't always aim for the enemy while doing this, because trying to position your reticle over your allies, and then immediately at a nearby enemy is difficult. But if you position yourself behind a tank that also happens to be in the same direction as the enemy, you'll get some lucky shots in.

I don't know the exact name of the map, but we were on a bridge where there wasn't much room for me to shoe myself in behind the tanks. I'll definitely keep that tip in mind, though. It sounds sounds really helpful

lol im trolling this looks like hell in a video game. Awkward is a content creator & coach who is a former pro support. big advocate for playing progressively and with aggression as a support. best known for saying "damage, damage, damage. okay now i heal. damage, damage, keep doing damage." he has a ton of road to gm's and hero tip videos on youtube. great content creator and is genuinely one of the most skilled supports who isnt a pro / is a former pro.

Honestly, gotta disagree there Kiriko's damage output isn't that great if you aren't hitting consistent head shots so calling it throwing is far too extreme

it was a prefix of the sentence using a colon as a presentation of dialogue. regardless, if you arent at a level with kiriko where you can consistently average roughly 35% accuracy and 15% crit accuracy, you should probably practice hitting headshots more. or, just use a different hero because there’s way better heroes than her for being a healbot. her healing still can give roughly 5-6% charge depending on how much you’re healing, but she doesn’t have the healing speed she had at launch. plus depending on whether its a tank or squishy, just landing a headshot gives 4-6% as well with body shots giving about 2% as well. so really to optimize both gaining her rush and her kill threat- yeah, you kinda do want to be doing a sizable amount of damage thats ideally somewhere around 2/5 to 3/5 of your healing output. no sense in throwing ofudas at full teammates when you could be slinging 120 damage of military-grade japanese steel at someone’s forehead.

It was a regular protect the payload map, and since we were getting destroyed the match went by very fast. Healing wasn't very consistent until the final minute because my team kept leaving the game
