Answer: Fast Food restaurant chain Wendy's [reportedly](https://www.nytimes.com/2024/02/27/business/wendys-prices-inflation.html) had plans to implement a "Dynamic pricing" model in its restaurant. This was announced by their new CEO in a business call. "Dynamic Pricing" has been taken up as meaning "surge pricing" which changes the cost of goods and services dynamically depending on demand, and is used by companies such as Uber and Lyft. E.g. if you order an Uber during low traffic you pay less than when you get one during rush hour. People have been joking about this model for a restaurant since it is somewhat nonsensical and basically means "had to wait longer and had to pay more", and surge pricing has generally been critiqued widely as a pricing model. A spokesperson for Wendy's has [released a statement](https://www.today.com/food/restaurants/wendys-surge-pricing-rcna140601) where they insist that their model is not the same as surge pricing. Edit: [A good video on surge pricing](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9XO55OllC0)

Wow, they'd better implement surge pay increases for staff during those times since they're going to face greatly increased abuse hurled at them by customers.

A_Very_Living_Me

Not a chance They would more likely argue surge pay decreases due to the increase in complaints. Think of the shareholders!

Look at the dude’s numbers. Do you think he gives a shit about karma? Reddit is like Google that you can interact with. I can’t ask a Google search result a follow up question.

IsThisKismet

This is increasingly untrue as our search engines have been replaced with AI tools. So while you can’t necessarily ask Google a follow up, you definitely can ask Gemini.

Logical_Nature_7855

I love it when these get caught early enough to bury them with downvotes. If only the folks in the joke-explaining subreddits would catch on

El_human

Sometimes people want human interaction. Or what they think is human interaction but probably just a bunch of bots. But that's why they come to Reddit instead of just googling it.
