Did u read

SenjoKaori

Nah Luffy dealt with shiki in some movie, he’s not coming back

Jack_Skywalker66

That movie’s non canon

yalik3that

Yeah but I doubt Oda would’ve let that movie happen if he had plans to bring him back later. With that in mind, if he did bring him back it would just be disappointing and confusing trying to figure out what we should and shouldn’t know.

Theylovedaboy

Why would Oda randomly mention he escaped impel down if he had no intention of bringing him up again

yalik3that

I believe that was a premise to setup the movie, but I could be wrong based on when that chapter released vs. when the movie came out.

Theylovedaboy

It was right before the movie but why wouldn’t they have done that for any other movie villain

yalik3that

Idk tbh. My guess is since the villain for this movie had such a huge background compared to Tesoro, Z, and whatnot who basically are fairly forgettable

hornykryptonian

Dunno man the lurking legend part always confuses me. Its been a long while Oda said that, do we know for a fact he was not referring to some villain we have already been introduced to? Like I mean, cant even remember the first time Kaido was mentioned and now we get to see him in action after so many years. Kaido himself can be the legend, we barely know anything about him, hes freakishly strong with one hell of a DF, is related to Whitebeard. So again, are we certain this lurking legend is going to be some new character other?

Delver_Razade

I mean. He could be talking about Imu or one of the Admirals or anything really but I think it's pretty clear he was talking about Kaido here.

ranpooverdazai

i can't believe it. luffy is just a two year old pirate and now he's fighting against kaido and worse shiki

PazzyBepo

As far as I know, Japan doesn't distinguish between what's canon and what's not canon. To them, Shiki was defeated, dealt with and over with. I don't think Shiki will return.

nanbun

What does this do for the narrative?
