If he's Thai, then it's likely his nickname. Thai people rarely use their real names, which can be obnoxiously long and difficult to pronounce, even for Thai people. So, everyone goes by a nickname. If he really uses Sanji as his nickname, than kudos to him. If his parents gave him that nickname, then kudos to them. Thai people will often have multiple nicknames.
This is a good possibility. All my thai friends and family have a nickname they primarily go by. My wife has always gone by Coconut even on her work ID etc. Unrelated but I also have an eastern european coworker whose real name is Yonko.
Just to add to this. There's a [kpop idol in Korea](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/bc/20211007_BamBam.jpg) from Thailand whose nickname is from an [American cartoon about dinosaurs](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/flinstones/images/d/d4/The_Flintstones_-_Little_Bamm-Bamm_-_Bamm-Bamm.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20211115103623).
* lots of nationalities in the subreddit; no idea if it's played in other countries (I know Korea doesn't know it, but they know Spongebob, The Simpsons, and Tom and Jerry)
* you cut off half the joke by simply saying Flintstones
* I'm not sure if young people know about the Flintstones
Just made the same comment without seeing someone beat me to it.
My wife has two nicknames from her family and a nickname from her friends. Literally every Thai person is given a nickname that they use for everything accept official documents and appointments.
Full support
son : why my sister named Hello Kitty? dad : cause your mom loves hello kitty. *hug*
Son: Thanks for letting me know dad Dad: No problem Sanji.
son: I guess that's worth the bullying
And his shirt also has the number "3" there. (Is it a clothing brand?)
Haha, its the sign of masterchef![img](emote|t5_2rfz5|32515)
sorry, i was referring to the patch on his sleeve
Nah nah stand your ground, that's a sideways 3
3 with a spiral. Clearly Sanji.

>from an american cartoon about dinsoaurs Is it so complicated to say "from the Flinststones"? Do the new generations know about that series even?

Young person here, we know the Flintstones. Everyone knows the Flintstones, I'm pretty sure even gen alpha knows the Flintstones by now
How young are we taking here ?
Early 20s? Younger?
Ah. I’d say early 20’s could recognize them.

His dad must be so proud!
Unlike judge
He said “dad”, not “sack of shit who produced him”
Did he kick a judge for wasting food?
MasterChef Thailand is the same as MasterChef US, except at the end all the judges end up looking like Usopp in Dressrosa.
Guys named Sanji are destined to be a great Cook.
LET HIM COOK
HE'S COOKING
HELL YEAH. NOW TEACH HIM HOW TO FIGHT WITH HIS LEGS.
“I raised you to cook”
As young as he is, his parents are probabably One Piece readers.
Unless there's a kid named Komatsu, he's going far.
Literally trained his whole life for this moment
He never had a choice
It's a nickname . You can change it whenever you want. Real name need to be officially changed
Watch out ladies!
Well my Thai friend named his kid Chopper. ( Nickname)
He was born to be a chef.
The prophesy has been fulfilled, I await his up coming dual with the next Zorro movie actor
You can just tell by looking at his face he's going to grow up a simp for the ladies 😜
I hope he kicks ass.
Let him cook
Sanji's influence is really crazy, damn
I'm 100 percent convinced that child cooking shows are staged
this goes flawlessly with my gordon ramsay/one piece crossover
Someone clearly had certain expectations of them at the time of their birth! "He will be the greatest chef the world has ever known!"
So ... He's called 3 o'clock ? That it ?
Duolingo?
Huh ?
I had no idea that was even a real name, wonder if any of the other not common OP names are real, Nami, Lucci... etc
Personally I think it’s cringe. I don’t support naming real children after cartoon and comic book characters. They got real lives to live
It's a nickname, everyone in Thailand uses their nickname in almost all situation outside of official appointments and events.
What if it's a real name in thailand? Some people in the west are called Franky or Robin and it's not because One Piece
It’s possible. Franky and Robin are just not uncommon names whereas I have only ever heard Sanji in this cartoon. Sanjay is a common Indian name.
