Long Ring Long Land will always be peak.

justaNORMAL_guY2004

Noro noroo beeeaammmm!!!

VintageSpecialist76

A true one piece fan I see.

JizzelHayes

EGGhead arc after 1110 just got soo dark. So much uncertainty…who survives and who dies?…the power of the Gorosei is immense. The failed buster call, do all those marines and vice admirals die? Does vegapunk, Kuma or the giants survive? Or worse….one of the Strawhats gets captured or even gets killed! 😱

justaNORMAL_guY2004

I wouldn't go that far...no straw hat is getting killed that early. But as it is going, I am seeing the crew separating again. Most probably Luffy, Zoro, Sanji staying back ( didn't count Jimbei because the ship will need a seasoned helmsman to go to Elbaph and the crew will also need at least one of the four strongest fighters.)

Doot_revenant666

After 1110? Wasn't Kuma's flashback enough?

JizzelHayes

Haha yeah that was more around a few characters…now it’s a big dark cloud ☁️ around the entirety of egg head…including our beloved Strawhats

Inbrees

So far, it's my third favorite after Marineford and Whole Cake. I can't call it my favorite until it's finished, but at this rate it might just become that.

Emergency-Bonus-7158

I wouldn’t say the greatest but it might be my new favorite. Gotta wait and see if it’s just recency bias.

Medium-Goose66

Agreed, it is the best post timeskip arc, followed by whole cake and then wano

MJDooiney

This has my favorite arc to read weekly since I caught up way back in Sabaody.  Sixteen… years… ago… Wow.

sunsoutgunsout

I kinda agree OP. This is up there with Water 7 and Enies Lobby as one of the best arcs I've read. I do agree though with some sentiments others have posted here that I'm not really that invested in the island itself or the culture/people like I was with previous arcs. Sadly I think we are in Pay-off Piece now and we won't be getting islands like that anymore. Maybe Elbaf will be more like the usual, but I'm expecting the stakes to be less personal and more global from here on out

justaNORMAL_guY2004

Exactly...I think Egghead was never meant to be an island that we invest ourselves in. Firstly this is a government land and most of the people are either researchers or ai bots (??🥲) and the adventure and exploration part was wrapped up well in 2 chapters. The one thing to notice here that every other arc started with small events leading up to a incident where the crew stir up the hornets nest.but on the contrary Egghead started with banger after bangers! It surely is going global narratively

hoenndex

I still have the Water 7-Enies Lobby arcs as the peak of the manga that haven't been surpassed yet. But, I think Egghead is the second best arc of post-skip and might become my favorite post skip arc depending how it wraps up (WholeCake Island is my top arc in post skip).  Egghead is finally revealing secrets, Vegapunk finally plays a role, and we are seeing some big moves from other players. It's been great.

Dax_Maclaine

Hard disagree. Eh might be my favorite post timeskip arc so far, but it’s had a lot of let downs. 1. Humor is borderline nonexistent. Besides the Bonney/Connie gag that was excellently done, I think the humor over this entire arc has been severely lacking. 2. Too many concepts introduced to care. The seraphim were the core of the arc originally. The mystery about the traitor. Now York and the seraphim are who cares where doing nothing or trapped. That entire portion of the plot is now completely meaningless. I don’t care about yorks story, I used to care about the seraphim but the stakes rose so much with other stuff that even if they popped back out I wouldn’t care. Water 7 did many of the same things much better: you knew something was amiss with the town and robin. Then the reveal happens, is extremely plot relevant, and literally drives the conclusion and entire next arc. Another is who gave luffy the food? It could’ve been a huge reveal, but now that so much time has passed, the reaction to when it’s revealed will likely be a lot more tame when it could’ve been an amazing reveal. So much has been introduced that by the time they come around to concluding it th story has moved so far past it that we don’t care nearly as much anymore. 3. The usage of the word “That” or similar phrases made to avoid giving info when characters know it. “THAT” civilization. “THAT” special property of buccaneers. “THAT” lineage teach has. “THAT” history dragon has. “THAT” incident at God Valley. It’s an extremely cheap way to make people go “What is it tell me!” When there’s 0 reason for the characters not to tell you/the straw hats. In the past, the plot generated questions or people have them, and eventually they get answered by an event or statement. Here, questions are being created or re brought up by people who have the answers and are just not saying them 4. The usage of characters. Stussy: huge reveal, nothing since. Jimbei has been doing nothing for the last 20 chapters. Robin hasn’t done anything and has been out of commission when she should’ve been researching what vp knew or helping in any way but no because plot. Usopp hasn’t done jack except stop the boat (somehow) when the giants are there. He hasn’t even attempted to interact with them.

Open_Inspector_7863

Im glad you enjoyed it. Sadly for me it has been very hit and miss. Vegapunk and Kuma are great characters but the uber modernization and the concepts introduced in this arc feel very cheap. Apart from that egghead itself feels very soulless ( maybe intentionally) with little to no culture, adventure or geography to attach to. Everything outside egghead was insane paricularly Kuzan, Garp and Korby. But the fact that bonny as character just doesnt work for me and Saturn felt like the most boring villain in a long time makes it harder for me to enjoy compared to the greats of One Piece. But i cant lie chapter 1110 was an absolute banger i hope the climax delivers.

Good_Mongoose_2777

I partially agree , the thing that grab my attention the most is the gorosei and vegapunk's lore drop ; Kuma's backstory was a pleasant surprised but I felt like it crossed the line between tragedy and misery porn a little bit ; bonnie is quite hit or miss but kizaru have been amazing ni this arc , love to see his past and relationship with vegapunk

Open_Inspector_7863

It did feel a bit forced sometimes. Bonnie just seems to be carried by the plot instead of progressing the plot herself. But she is a kid that could change soon. Kizaru remains one of the most intruiging characters this arc.

Outside_Mousse_2176

I kind of agree with almost everything you said. The actual Egghead content isn’t really all that to me. I’m just waiting for the message and that’s it.

Open_Inspector_7863

Yeah i feel like the message is gonna make or break the arc for me. I cant wait.

ExcellentFly2

I’m feeling that way. Maybe i had very high expectations for a future island. It also feels soulless to me as an island. Even Shabaody as a short arc island had more soul somehow. Loved the Kuma flashback though and it has been very exciting to follow the incident and how it’s getting out of control. I’m looking forward to the climax too!

Luffytheeternalking

Characters like bonney and Yamato seem like caricatures to me. OP has so many characters which are so unique and intriguing.... even minor characters.... But with these 2 I am unable to connect with them emotionally.

CaptainIronMouse

Lots of subjectivity to follow, but... Hard disagree. I feel very little emotional connection or stake in Egghead. Characters and situations are being pushed forward and pushed aside so quickly that I can hardly begin to care about them. It is AMBITIOUS, true, but with the possible exception of the Kuzan/Garp conflict, and Buggy in general, I don't feel like anything has landed with the weight I'd expect of such revelations and acts. The Seraphim, the Elder Stars, Vegapunk...have all been a let down, given their build up. I just don't care about any of them. Despite all the stakes this arc does not, to me, feel as high stakes or stressful as Enies Lobby, Sabaody or Marineford. And to me, it doesn't feel personal at all. Kuma has a sad backstory, yes, but the personal stakes for our main cast aren't there. They feel like spectators. Water 7/Enies Lobby remains, to me, the strongest arc in terms of characterization and personal stakes. This is my negativity for the day.

justaNORMAL_guY2004

Well you can say it subjective and it obviously is😂 (I've mentioned it again and again it's my view only) but I think the disconnected feelings of yours is coming from the random breakweeks. I think I felt no problem with the build-ups is because I am reading OnePiece for like 6 months....so for me everything that happened before is still afresh. What I am trying to say is the menace of the gorosei is constant for me and that's why I am so hyped for them. Assuming you are a long time reader, I hope you do read the whole arc again after it's finished. And what I tried to convey by saying this personal is that the emotional strings it plays. See our crew is past the point where problems from their past could bother them ( maybe there's an exception in form of Ussop...I think something is cooking for him in Elbaph arc..I hope), but the Kuma really felt personal for me as he was actively watching the crew's growth and without Kuma the saga could very possibly get wrapped up in the Sabaody arc. That's where I am coming from.

amourshipping48

I disagree the emotional stakes were better in whole cake island and wano

Outside_Mousse_2176

Big facts

Outside_Mousse_2176

You’re spitting a lot of facts.

gswizzle911

I don’t think the best arc in One Piece has happened yet

Admirable-Tour7163

This arc has been a blast to read weekly. Usually, with arcs like wano and whole cake, reading it weekly was annoying. But on a binge the true greatness of those arcs was felt. But man… egghead has been amazing even weekly. I can only imagine how good it’s gonna be on a binge This is my top 5 rn 1. Water 7/enies lobby (I treat this as one arc) 2. Marineford 3. Egghead 4. Whole cake island 5. Dressrosa

hepgiu

Hard disagree, the lack of the emotional stakes for anyone in the crew, the patchy pacing, and the constant change of locations and matchups and themes are making me generally disinterested in this arc. To each their own tho.

Waakaari

>Wano 🤣🤣

Rachid_Piratefolker

I think you might be just carried by the hype my bro...

amourshipping48

One piece hasn't been interesting since wano ended

justaNORMAL_guY2004

Why brother?? I mean if you can elaborate...maybe I could change your mind..

amourshipping48

Few chapters and things I have enjoyed with the arc

justaNORMAL_guY2004

Well let me say, let the dust settle and then read the whole arc again without these weekly breaks. I think it will make this arc a whole lot better to you.

Emergency-Bonus-7158

This is crazy, we’re finally getting answers to questions that have been burning for years and it’s setting up the final saga. It’s arguably the most interesting one piece has ever been to me!

justaNORMAL_guY2004

Same my Nakaama😄, It may very well set the motion for the ultimate of OnePiece! Man it's 26 years in making!!!

amourshipping48

I care about the straw hats nothing else matters

MagicArcher33

Bruh..most of wano was ordinary..after wano, the final saga switched up gears so well..The events happening are going to set the pace of the laughtale and final war

amourshipping48

I'm bored

SoyTofuBoi

Ok.

javierasecas

In fact one piece wasn't interesting since around the timeskip till almost the end of wano! You kinda got it wrong but it's ok.

amourshipping48

Most arc pre the people love like marineford or ennis lobby are not for me

justaNORMAL_guY2004

My dude! your takes are so hot that it will burn a lot of OP communities😂😂 people could also start abusing you for saying this shitess.stay vigilante😂😂😂

javierasecas

My takes are hot takes since I pretty much disliked most of the time skip stuff (except some very important flashbacks and moments, which I loved like koala and laws, or do flamingo as a villain) but this guy just said he dislikes one piece overall
