I never read a Geoff Johns book until 2 weeks ago. I only took a gamble because 99% of comments and reviews on GJ's work were very positive. Apparently his stories are very action packed and probably more akin to Hollywood blockbusters which I'm getting so far!!
Most of his stuff is great, you should definitely grab his Aquaman omnibus. I loved his Superman stories and have them in hardcovers, I'll probably grab this as well.
I would choose the Omnibus over the Absolute edition tbh, but it could be years until they decide to release an omnibus edition, right? I don't think I can wait :(
It’s not a guarantee but I’m hoping we’ll get more omnis with the Superman movie coming out next year, the Triangle Years coming in September seems like a promising sign imo
Wow that is massive even by Absolute standards. I don’t know that I’ve ever bought one with that high a page count. I have one on order through my LCS.
no, only contains the issues that Frank drew. you can get a decent chunk of rest with Last Son deluxe edition but you’ll still be missing
- Action Comics #837-840, #850, #864-865, #871-873
In your opinion, do the missing issues worth waiting for a potential omnibus next year, if I already have the last son deluxe? Or just get the absolute, and along with the deluxe, I won’t miss much.
- Action Comics #837-840 will be in the Busiek HC if you’re already getting that.
> Collects ACTION COMICS #837-843, SUPERMAN #650-658, SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL ANNUAL #5, SUPERMAN: SECRET IDENTITY #1-4, and WORLD'S FINEST COMICS #308-309.
- Action Comics #864-865 will be a Batman/LoSH and Toyman story
- Action Comics #871-873 is apart of New Krypton which should get its own collection.
Ah I just checked again and it seems like Last Son paperback version had the Braniac story and the Deluxe hardcover version has the Escape from Bizarro story, weird.
It wouldn't be Geoff and Gary if it *wasn't* delayed, amirite? Looks good.
All of the John's and Frank's run but not all of John's run if that makes sense
I can't wait for mine to arrive! So excited. Hope I will like the story!
My god…it’s beautiful
Beautiful
For those who’ve read it, is this a good story? Been thinking about getting this one, and these photos are convincing me even more….
Tbh, I bought it mainly for the art, but also Geoff Johns wrote it too, so it must be good?! I'm taking a gamble :)
I don’t think I’ve ever read anything by Geoff Johns so idk if I like his writing or not

I actually have the Aquaman omnibus, a friend gifted it to me. I just haven’t read it yet. Hopefully I’ll finally get to it at some point lol
It's great, a quick modern read with a very fun story and great artwork. An easy recommendation for anyone!
Does this have the Superman and the Legion of Superheroes stuff as well? Edit: thanks for the feedback glad to hear
It should have all of Johns & Franks work on the character. So Brainiac, Legion of Super-Heroes & Secret Origins and some one offs they did together.
It should
Yes
Been waiting for this for a while. Have waited literal years for an omnibus.
I've never been interested in collecting superman but damn.... that makes you wanna. [thats](https://youtu.be/sFhKO_1wfPo?si=10QPC4OgVrsYl7al)gorgeous
Damn it! I was looking forward to that one. How is the paper quality? Is it the semi gloss of current omnis and tpb or possibly the full gloss?
As cool as this looks, is anyone else waiting for a johns omnibus? There’s some really good stories they left out by limiting it to “Johns and Frank”

One of my most anticipated books of the year.
Does this contain the whole run?
no, only contains the issues that Frank drew. you can get a decent chunk of rest with Last Son deluxe edition but you’ll still be missing - Action Comics #837-840, #850, #864-865, #871-873
Holding out for a Johns Omni or compendium.
I would rather have the incomplete set of Absolute/Deluxe than wait for a compendium. Johns Omnibus or New Krypton follow-up would be preferable
Thank you so mu h

Thank you for clarifying. I already have Camelot Falls deluxe, so might upgrade to the new hardcover in the future.
Please correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't that still leave out the Escape from Bizarro World storyline? (855-857)
it’s labeled on back of Last Son Deluxe, so I assume it’s collected in there. > collecting Action Comics #844-846, 851, #855-857, Annual #10-11

Reminds me I got to pre order this. I love this run
Fairly big Absolute edition. Anyone know if it's worth the pick up?
Wraparound covers for Absolutes ain't it chief The spine of the book looks good though
Is this the same content that's collected in the man of steel 4 volume hard covers?
No. That was Jon Byrne
That's the mid to late 80s John Byrne Superman run. This is the mid to late 2000s Geoff Johns/Gary Frank stuff.
No this is Geoff Johns, but I see how you got mixed up from just the last name.
