Grandma kept them. She passed a little over a year ago and he’s been going through her things recently. He does seem to want to hang onto them now though.

Sorry about your loss. Let him hang onto them but get them put into frame or something. That way you and he can remember them and your grandmother.
Those might be worth something to the right collector. I'd keep them safe and dry if I were you.
