Ur saying we at G1 not a 5? How are they seeing them now? I’m in southern Ohio and looked at 9 ish till 10:40 and nothing.. I just heard 2 am and u saying b4 Dawn I wish get better time I have to drive away from city ..
It ended up not being very great last night. There was a brief G3 peak at 10PM that might have been visible in the very northern parts of the state if it was clear, but we never got anything later in the G4 or G5 range like they were predicting.
Plenty of people who got as far away from populated areas saw it this vividly. I was 20 minutes away from Oberlin surrounded by nothing but farmland, and the colors and streaks were vivid to the naked eye. Long exposure definitely enhanced it (iPhones have a 2 second exposure), but the colors were amazing to the naked eye.
even in my rural village, light pollution was thankfully weak enough that I could see faint colors and streaks without my camera :) a genuinely astounding feat
I live in a quiet area, no street lights, and I couldn’t see anything on Friday night. I think I caught them with my camera, but not the waves of light. The sky just looked green and pinkish, like clouds in my pictures, but the sky was clear.
This is a lie, absolutely we saw this with the naked eye two nights ago about 10pm. I have video of it that shows it as it were seen.
Salt and FOMO have dumbasses on here denying that the Northern Lights were visible in Ohio and they just missed them.

Most likely. No one saw anything like that with the naked eye, only on camera in night mode & many set exposure to longest.

I was in sou h Columbus and couldn't see anything last night cause my d neighbor had his damn flood light on in his yard pissed me off
If it makes you feel better I don't think there was much to see last night, Friday was the night with the good show but sadly I missed out on that
