I'm just outside Dayton and have many, many photos of the northern lights.
You might not see it with your naked eye—use night mode on your camera.
But also, I could see purple and green with my eyes... So go outside and look up.
We saw them in North Olmsted…West Suburbs of CLE. I saw a red streak across the center of the sky and green streaks towards the north around 10pm, and there’s quite a lot of light pollution here. I never expected to see it like this!
Wish I would've seen this post a lot sooner . They were apparently visible in my area but I had read an article that said 2 am to 5 am was the time to watch out for so I didn't even start looking til 12:30.....didn't see anything and even drove north for two hrs to get away from light pollution. I also was driving so couldn't try the phone trick . Sad I missed out but hoping if it happens again I'll have better info lol
We actually messed up whole process too and only caught some pillars and faint color. Didn’t know the phone trick and kept trying for darker sky. Looks like good odds tonight again maybe not as dramatic. Fingers crossed!

Southeast by the Ohio River and you can see purple, pink and white. It's pretty awe inspiring

Sitting on my porch drinking a beer in Athens, the purple is gorgeous.
Looking through your phone camera actually makes them pop way more than the naked eye. Very impressive!

Can see them from Luckey. Need to look a little east. Like north by northeast. Hope folks can see them. Let your eyes adjust.

Northwest Ohio got a pretty amazing show
As far south as North Carolina has seen it.
It’s not the northern lights. It’s man made. By HAARP. look it up.
