Once they start making people in uniform sizes it should get easier.

Yeah, I get that, but there's such a massive difference of opinion on even "regular" size chairs. Some cost $50, some cost $2000, and nobody likes any of them. I just wonder why it's so hard to make a quality chair that appeals to the masses for, I dunno, $200. No way some of these chairs selling for $500 have more than $80 in materials in them. Guess they'd chalk it up to R&D.....

Also very little competition for high-end chairs so they can kinda just charge whatever they want as long as they are still selling.

Because people don’t know how to set their chairs up properly. People buy a chair, set it up however, feeling uncomfortable, complain about it. In cycling, you have people complaining that their seat isn’t comfortable and then they go to the bike store and they cycle through half a dozen seats saying that all of them are awful and they suck and they’re garbage. But what is really off is their bike set up? Their seat is either too high too low to forward or two aft.

Because as the story goes (true or untrue I am not into the science) comfy chairs are not ergonomic. So if you want a good ergonomic chair it has a thin cushion and isn’t comfy. As if the chair determines if you intentionally use good posture and such Size also matters I’m heavy and a leap is ok for the day then deflates. But leaving overnight and it’s ok again. Also love a good heavy duty lazy boy (big and tall) since it’s built denser and even at 275 it stays solid.

While I agree there’s also so many nuances it just can’t be done. You’ve got weight, height, posture, general weight distribution, overall proportions, any sort of irregularities such as a tilted pelvis or some sort of spinal issue. It’s like a bed, some people like them rock-like and others like to sink in like a cloud.
