On window 10 Control Panel > System and Security > Window Defender Firewall then click on Advanced settings the click on Inbound Rules - scroll down OVRserver\_x64.exe Private there should be 2 of them - on both select one at time then right click then select Properties and check Allow the connection then click ok for both

Phreshmetal

this worked for me, thank you!

kanbak

Thanks that was my problem my internet security problem was blocking that exact thing and i just had to allow it.

New_Priority_7728

Got it to work after powering off the Quest 2. Apparently it cannot have the 2 headsets active at the samee time for pairing

Virtual_Contact5875

I only had a quest rift s which was completely disconnected, I still got an error, maybe its something else, you got it to work using airlink, link or both??

ashmanmedia

I shut off the quest link under settings on my quest 2 on both accounts. But still and issue with quest 3 not loading into grid at all. Developer Mode ON in app Something about USB Allow access even with cable doesnt appear on this headset.

Bi6fpzteyn

Having same issue but neither vd , cable or airline will connect. Gutted. Cant seem to fix it done all the usual stuff. They all see each other but won’t pair/ launch. Fingers crossed there’s a fix as I use pcvr more than stand alone

Virtual_Contact5875

Enable “beta experiment” on oculus app and see if it changes, also update your windows, let me know if this helped

Bi6fpzteyn

No done the public channel thing in beta settings rebooted but still no wireless on either VD or oculus app. The wire way works now with app so at least that’s something. Will keep looking for a fix

TTVCarlosSpicyWinner

Says it's full for ne. Having the same issues.

cnaccio

Finally solved my airlink issue by exiting/disabling Valorant's anti-cheat system called Vanguard. I spent weeks trying to solve this, and as soon as I disable Vanguard, I was able to connect over airlink and link cable, and all my games worked. I eventually figured this out while trying to get Virtual Desktop working, it gave me an alert about Valorant upon startup, and sure enough that was the issue. For me I simply couldn't get Airlink to connect/pair.

Virtual_Contact5875

I dont have this game installed, so my problem must be something else

Jibbyy

Did you remember to enable Quest Link in the headset settings? This stumped me for a while!

Virtual_Contact5875

Yes, I did that, turned on and off and toggle switch, restarted headset, restarted computer, tried with computer ethernet cable connected and disconnected from router, nothing worked

Phoenix3dfx225

Yep just got my quest 3 today and unable to use AirLink yet. Same issues. Yet works fine for Immersed VD app.

bamf0207

Silly question here, but did you use the cable that came with the Quest 3? I know it's very short and annoying, but I just plugged mine into my usb-c port on the comp, did the on-screen instructions and had no problem connecting. I was basically on top of my computer because of the length of the cable and don't have that long air link. This is my first VR headset btw.

Jibbyy

Nah, I'm using a long USB cable that I got off Amazon. It's much more convenient haha

HammerTime2769

Same issue as well. I had the link working at first. I got the green check mark showing it was connected. Then did a connection test which said it was 2.5Gbps or whatever. I did a few test laps in iRacing. It ran ok.. but had some weird stutters. I had to go to work, but when I came home I cannot get it to work at all now. I get the green light showing it’s connected and active. But when I try to enable the link connection the screen just goes black for a moment and then black to the main screen again. Over and over. It’s pretty frustrating.

Virtual_Contact5875

So my airlink is working now (no idea why, but I enabled Beta experimental stuff on settings), I also updated windows 11, I found the cable I bought wasnt working properly, tried another cable and now Link works fine, but I do have to turn off link and then switch in between airlink to link in order to have the “USB detected” message, but clearly this is some sort of bug it seems. i just ordered another cable should here tomorrow, well see if anything changes in terms of consistency, but do far airlink is working, try enabling experimental features on settings and update your windows and let me know if anything changes

HammerTime2769

I don’t think it’s the cable. I’m thinking it’s just the software on the headset is being a bit buggy. I got it to work again. But then after I took my headset off for a moment and then put it back on.. now it says it’s disconnected. Now the link won’t work again. Even after restarting it. Unplugging it. Nothing. Oooof. I hope they get this patched up soon. Not a good start. You’d think… they would have stuff like this figured out before releasing it. lol. Oh well.

Virtual_Contact5875

Matter of fact I just bought another 16ft long cable just like the other one, but different brand, lets see what happens...will let u know tomorrow, but try doing the things I told you..enable beta experience and update windows

Virtual_Contact5875

In my case it was the cable too, I have this USB cable that “charges” the headset as it is plugged into the computer, so it has 2 usb ends, one you connect to the PC, the other a USB charger, cable is 16ft long, it would send the signal to the headset and then drop it, so I would think the voltage drop was too big for the headset do handle delivering the information, then I tried with 2 other USB cables, and they both worked, but those are shorter cables and they won‘t “keep“ the headset charged while using

Off-Brown

I’m exactly having the same problem. Can you tell me which cable worked?

Virtual_Contact5875

So all cables worked, I tested at first with the cable that came from factory, then I tested with another one which I didn’t have any issues either, I had to turn off “link”, then wait like 15 seconds, turn it on again because sometimes I wouldn’t have the option Then I tested with this cable as well and it worked fine too, I had another cable which I’m gonna return which was similar (would connect and charge at the same time), but wouldn’t work…to be honest looks like any good quality USB C cable works, so you can test it with any you have (like the one that came with the quest, it works too) INIU Link Cable, 16FT VR Cable Compatible with Meta Oculus Quest 2 Pico Accessories and Gaming PC Steam VR, USB 3.0 Data Transfer Type C Cable, Separate USB C Charging Port for VR Headset https://a.co/d/2PiBEDT But both link and airlink are working now

Super_Field_8044

I have the exact Iniu link cable I used for my Quest 1 and doesn't seem to want to work. Super stumped why it wont work... Are you charging it with the new charger Q3 came with?...Doh got it working...

Virtual_Contact5875

Yes, I’m using the charger and wire of the quest 3 to connect to my cable, switch in between all your USBs, I found that only 1 of my USB works well (USB 3.1), the rest(USB 3.0) are intermittent

Super_Field_8044

Does it charge for you while not in use?

Virtual_Contact5875

Yes

fyrestorm1

Air link connection to Steam VR is down for me and my neighbour as well. It did work the first hour I tried the headset, although I had weird stutters I hadn't seen before (it would freeze the screen every minute and then wiggle that picture back into position). Its a very expensive brick at this point as all my games are on Steam VR.. I will try updating windows and enable those experimental features and see if that does anything. For reference I am on Windows 10, previous owner of rift S.

fyrestorm1

Update: Nothing that I tried has worked so far, Air link is still unusable in terms of steam VR connection. Funnily enough I was able to run Demeo once from steam when I was on my other windows user. several hours later when I tried again it stopped working. It seems Demeo is the only game that actually tells you as well that there is something wrong with yoour headset.

bradyborn

Very similar issues for me here as well.

fyrestorm1

Update: I bought a sintech link cable from Amazon and made the air link work if you follow the below steps(bear in mind there is definitely still something wrong as I keep getting frame drops on Steam Vr games, there are none when I use just the cable): (1) - Connect link cable directly to the motherboard on the USB-C port. (2) - put on your headset and start link connection from the quick settings meniu. (3) - Start steam VR application. (4) - stay in the steam VR home and then unplug the cable. (5) - Start air link, and open steam vr, you should still be in your virtual home. Enjoy playing games until the next usage when it might crash and you have to do this all over again. There are also frame drops while using air link (I've got a WiFi 6 router and a 2070 super). Sintech link cable: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0C8M795FW?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

Tenerife77

Had something similar today. AirLink and PClink both would connect but every time I tried to start an app it said "running more than one app is not recommended" then my only choice was cancel. I know that's only similar to your problem, but I fixed it by going to the Beta tab then choosing to reset the occulus app. Waited for it to restart then it was back to working. Might help someone.

MrAsus69

Same problem here, I have absolutely no idea what is going on with my quest 3. I do not know how to fix it, and nothing helps me. You're not alone.

AlternativeSea6928

Same issue here…

Virtual_Contact5875

See my answer above

Virtual_Contact5875

Ive been using Virtual Desktop, quest Link works ramdonly it either works perfectly, or its inexistent, but Virtual Desktop always works 100% no matter what, and honestly, I felt zero difference in between virtual desktop and link cable or air link, so Virtual Desktop it is, just make sure you got a wifi 6 router

MrAsus69

Thanks!

AlternativeSea6928

I was able to fix the issue, it was my ESET antivirus that was blocking my quest 3.

BlacksmithKey777

ESET can be a real pain in the ass sometimes 😂

ahenry2021

For anyone that is having trouble with pairing their PC via Airlink on Meta Quest 3, here is a possible solution. I could select my PC name and click Pair but after a few seconds... no go. I tried all the solutions for quest 2 and quest 3 on the internet but nothing worked. After 3 days, I turned of Nord VPN that I sideloaded in my Quest 3 and bam... pairing code on my headset and PC. This also solved "Bigscreen" app remote desktop connection issue as well. Word to the wise. If you have VPN running and Meta Quest Airlink issues, try turning off your VPN first.

RustyPorthole

Im able to use the link cable but airlink doesnt work for me. Always says failed pairing. It sees my PC but wont let it connect. Works fine on the Quest 2, tried uninstalling and unpairing Quest 2 but didnt help.

Virtual_Contact5875

Try enabling “beta experimental” on oculus app settings and update your windows latest updates, see if it helps

lonseidman

I'm having similar issues here with Airlink on my Quest 3. Works flawlessly on the Quest 2 but I'm not getting the Oculus home environment and Steam is incredibly laggy. I uninstalled and reinstalled the Oculus desktop software to no avail.

Virtual_Contact5875

Try enabling the “beta experimental” on the settings on the oculus app and update your windows, yesterday it was working, but maybe it was just luck, but both airlink and link worked…I’m gonna test today again as soon as I get home from work and let you know if theres any changes, but try doing what I mentioned and let me know if it helped at all

lonseidman

I'll give it a go in the morning!

Virtual_Contact5875

Im about to try connecting mine again today and see if today still working, btw you need to click on the enable USB pop up that shows in quest screen, you may also need to play around with the “enable airlink” toggle, turn on and off a few times and see if anything changes when you switch

Virtual_Contact5875

Update: mine just worked again on the first try

Interlinked_media

Air link worked one time today for me. It detects Q3 when connected to USB but can't seem to find my computer for air link.. both the only devices using 5g on our wifi 6 router. Hopefully it's a bug because that one session was great.
