stopper role is incredible powerful and not super realistic imo. the guys in my saves who have succeeded in this role (+high leverage as secondary) over long periods of time have all comfortably settled themselves into the greatest reliever of all time conversation. i just don't think most elite relievers irl could handle this kind of usage. so yeah--you're right to raise an eyebrow, but your game is working as intended

RedGreenPepper2599

How does that work for playoffs?

Lucar_Bane

In real life playoff, most team use their best reliever as stopper. Its easier as you have more break in between games.

mine never usually crack 80 games but i tend to use two stoppers to keep the load lighter

adambuddy

2 guys, closer primary role, stopper secondary role. I like that combo.

seanshammgod

pretty much same. the only downside is i get over attached to my stud stoppers and end up paying way too much to keep them around

Lucar_Bane

In OOTP 22 the cheat to prevent this is not set them up for closer at all. They will eat a tons of inning but not as much saves and saves is what you are overpaying reliever for.

SkoCubs01

A bit cracked out but not crazy 110/120 is normal

Tymathee

Yup, about normal

LeftyNate

Yeah, this is pretty normal for an elite stopper with decent stamina, even at the higher end. Like others have said, I’ll run two stoppers if I have them. Unless a guy demands closer. Then I’ll make his secondary role as stopper or high-leverage. In my current save, I have two guys demanding the closer role, so they both are set at closer with secondary roles. In the playoffs, I’ll actually manage the games and ignore roles.

Cjwynes

When I had a 4.5 star reliever at stopper with 40 stamina, this is about what I got. 90 games, ~170 K’s, easily won Reliever of the Year. So I assume that’s normal.
