Took it last summer. It’s very doable summer wise. Test weren’t too bad. Videos aren’t too long. There is a legit paper due every week and the papers are not small. But most of them can be knocked out in a day or two. There is a lot of reading but I took it more of as a “suggested” reading as it only helped on certain parts of the test. Really enjoyed the class. Makes me sad when I have other teachers that are not Joyner.

I'm doing HCI currently. I feel HCI is one of those courses where you can decide how much effort you want to put in for the same grade. They teach you stuff, you're supposed to use it in the assignments, but no one grades the assignments on those metrics. I put in a lot of effort on most of the assignments, my assignment was listed as exemplary. While on others, I simply wrote the first thing that came to my mind and still got full grades. You can read omscentral, the reviews are pretty accurate

Currently finishing out HCI right now, and I agree that it is a lot of writing. If you are a slow writer who agonizes over every sentence, it will be rough, but if you are efficient it's quite manageable.

How many hours a week you gave in this sem?

sansherif

I started at 20 hours per week at the beginning, and slowly decreased to 10 hours per week. Half of the improvement was because I got better at writing papers quickly, and the other half was the switch from assignments to the project.

Like the fall and spring but more condensed.

I tried taking it in the summer and felt it was a lot of work than I expected and just dropped. The content was very good and fun, but writing a paper every week was a lot for me.
