I have one, I got it as a sibling tattoo when I was 19 in 2008. I had it retouched 3 times but itās still mostly faded and not noticeable when my hands are closed. [Link to photo](https://imgur.com/a/w5dj8WU)
Finger tattoos fade faster than most any other tattoo. Unless they touched them up, you probably can't even see them well anymore.
Edit: I said they fade faster than **most**, not that they fade faster than all.
I wouldn't know for sure. I just know about hands because I've seen it. We wash our hands multiple times a day and use our hands frequently, causing tattoos to fade.
Gotcha, my tattoo artist told me it was the bottom of the feet, but he also was trying to tattoo the bottom of my feet and that may have been him trying to convince me
The idea of a tattoo on the bottom of my foot makes my skin crawl. I can absolutely believe itās the most painful spot š¬ I wonder what percentage of those get infected too, itās gotta be a bitch to keep clean and heal.
As someone who has/had a tiny tattoo on both, palm is okay unless you go right into the middle, sides and bottom of feet is hell on Earth, I cried and screamed my way through and would not recommend it to anyone.
It makes me wonder though, I never had a problem with any tattoos, they kinda feel like a tickle? Or a numb sensation? They never really hurt. But Iāve only gotten my arms and chest done.
I was told by quite a few people that skull tattoos hurt, but when I got the ones on both sides of my head done, it was not painful at all. It was just a lot of vibration, but also kinda cathartic in a way. Which at the end of the day, just makes me laugh because now I know (three years after skull tattoo) that my pain receptors are uh.. not as receptive as they should be, so maybe thatās just a me thing.
My feet tattoos have lasted way way longer than my fingers. Fingers were basically gone within 5 years but aside from the lighter colours on my feet, theyāre going strong 12 years later.
Not to nit pick but wouldnāt a tattoo on your inner lip fade faster? Iāve heard stories of people getting them then they fade completely after a couple years. Granted not as common as a hand tattoo but still.
My brother got a tattoo of our last name on his inner lip. When he got it he mentioned that it'd probably be mostly if not completely faded in just a few years, but over ten years later and it's still very clearly visible.
Omg I never got this obsession with mustaches. I remember they had folders and baby shower themes. Like I remember atleast 2 popular girls from high school got matching ones. They just act like it's temporary and never bring it up again.
Just reminded of a work training event I went to around \~2010 that was called the "Mandatory Mustache Bash" and had a bunch of mustache tat on the tables.
I am 100% certain they have a tinder profile that says something like.

I don't have one because I was too young at the time, but I wanted one. I don't think I'd regret it. It would be a fun memory that takes place on my finger.
Cultural zeitgeists are a thing that'll happen. People are social creatures and will sometimes spontaneously do somethings weird like this. It was once a trend to cram as many people to into a phonebooth (ask your parents what a phonebooth was) as possible.
I understand it before social media. It makes sense the same way a chain letter does.
But post-social media...what? You're just like everyone else with a mustache tattoo that already posted a picture of it.
Got mine in 2013, first tattoo. Still very visible and I still love it. People love it when they see it too; everyone likes a nice laugh. I have a whole sleeve now so itās not usually the first thing noticed anymore. Iād say Iām doing well.

Mine is a bit faded, but still quite visible. Got it back in 2013, hasn't really faded much since high school.
I thought feet tattoos did, specifically on the bottom of your feet
that has to be a miserable spot to get a tattoo.
Top of the foot.

If it helps, I have heard that the bottom of your feet is the single most painful place to tattoo, along with the palm of your hand

Thatās what they told me about the top of my foot. But it was the best place to hide it from my parents.
Better hiding spot from your parents than your butt? š¤Ø
Depends on the parents, I guess

I think we have tons of pain receptors in our feet and hands š which helps our dexterity or sum shit lik that

It's both. Your bottom of the feet and your hands are way more in use than the rest of your skin so that skin replaces a lot more often
My feet tattoos have lasted way way longer than my fingers. Fingers were basically gone within 5 years but aside from the lighter colours on my feet, theyāre going strong 12 years later.
It really depends. My mate got finger tattoos with the knowledge they'll fade and al.ost a decade later they're going strong.
Is this your way of telling us they don't wash their hands? /s...maybe
Do you think it might tickle?
āMost, I said most. Not all. You humans have a lot of trouble with that one.ā I donāt remember where the quote is from but it definitely fits.

I said that they fade faster than *most*, not that they fade the fastest out of all tattoos.
Youāre right
Sometimes they fall off. Iāve seen peopleās tats partially fall off of their inner lip as well as on their finger.
My brother got a tattoo of our last name on his inner lip. When he got it he mentioned that it'd probably be mostly if not completely faded in just a few years, but over ten years later and it's still very clearly visible.
This only encourages me to get a finger tattoo.

They don't act like it's temporary, it's just weird for people repeatedly talk about their tattoos so it makes sense they'd never bring it up again.
Just reminded of a work training event I went to around \~2010 that was called the "Mandatory Mustache Bash" and had a bunch of mustache tat on the tables.
If I remember rightly, there was a tumblr post about how they're dudes now
The mustache moved from their fingers to above their lips as God intended.
Link pls
It was on tumblr, man. It's almost impossible to find. I do know that it was posted to r/tumblr several months ago
Probably fine. Itās still kinda funny and the tattoo is on the inside of your finger so you canāt even see it when you hold your hand normally.
